Grammar Police (grahm err poh leese) n. from the Lemurian "commascountstupid"

1) An individual of the butch or femme persuasion who has a kneejerk reaction to spelling and grammar. They can be identified by their subtle (and not-so-subtle) corrections of others' posts. This affliction is rarely curable and can attract Drama Llamas. Often Grammar Policians can be found reaching their last straw with Sympathy Sponges who seem to naturally have poor grammar and spelling.

The sad fact is that the Grammar Police often forget that good spelling and proper grammar are like etiquette... learned skills. Not all individuals are blessed with these gifts. The Grammar Police are easily identified by their response to the dyslexic defense. An individual who is truly afflicted with GP will fire back, "I'll buy you a dictionary if you promise to use it." This often requires a Peach or Administratus sighting and it is never good for the Grammar Polician who invokes this occurrence.
Grammar Police afflicted individuals often gather together to stroke their own egos.
