![]() Tom Cruise Recorded Screaming at Crew Members For Breaking COVID-19 Rules. [Click Here To Listen to the Audio] A furious Tom Cruise berated crew members on the set of Mission: Impossible 7, warning that they'll be "f****** gone" if they're caught breaking COVID-19 protocol. The Hollywood actor flew into a rage after reportedly spotting two crew members failing to socially distance from one another. "I don't ever want to see it again, ever!" Cruise is heard yelling in the leaked audio. "And if you don't do it you're fired, if I see you do it again you're f****** gone. And if anyone in this crew does it - that's it, and you too and you too. And you, don't you ever f****** do it again." Insiders say Cruise was furious at his staff for risking all of his efforts to keep filming going as the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the industry. "They're back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us!" Cruise said. "Because they believe in us and what we're doing! I'm on the phone with every f****** studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they're looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs you motherf******." The coronavirus pandemic has already caused the latest installment of the film franchise to experience delays. Cruise held crisis talks with the film's director after 12 people tested positive for the virus, causing 150 extras to not shoot their scenes in Italy. Since returning to the United Kingdom for more filming, the actor has tried to ensure there are no more delays. He even paid over half a million dollars for an old cruise ship for the cast and crew to isolate on. "That’s it! No apologies," Cruise continued. "You can tell it to the people that are losing their f-ing homes because our industry is shut down. It's not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education. That's what I sleep with every night. The future of this f****** industry!" Mission: Impossible 7's release date has been pushed from July 23 to November 19, 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic. While many stars have come to Cruise’s defense over the leaked audio recording of the actor allegedly berating members of the “Mission Impossible 7” crew for breaking safety guidelines, Remini believes his outburst was “for public relations reasons only.” In a post Wednesday on the anti-Scientology blog The Underground Bunker, Remini, one of the organization’s most high-profile defectors and prominent critics, called the tirade a “psychotic rant” and described Cruise as an “abusive person.”
“Tom does not care about the families of his crew; this is all for publicity,” Remini wrote. “Tom does not believe in family values. I mean, how anyone is falling for this is just mind-blowing. I would bet that Tom had this rant written for him and had his Scientology assistant record and release it. Hearing a rich actor with enormous power address his crew in this way is a sign of weakness and a deeply troubled person.” Tom seems to think that Hollywood is incapable of making films without his help. Saying such a thing indicates the godlike figure Tom believes he is, and what he is told by Scientology,” Remini continued. “The reality is, anyone who is working in Hollywood today is working under strict COVID guidelines. Anyone who is working knows this. Tom Cruise is not dictating how films are being made, even if he seems to think so.” Remini went on to claim the rant reveals Cruise’s “true personality.” “He is an abusive person. I witnessed it, I’ve been a recipient of it on a small level, and I’ve been told of similar abuse by his former girlfriend, his employees, and his friends,” Remini wrote. “This is the real Tom.” And she encouraged those commending his behavior to reconsider given the power dynamic at play, writing, “This is not just a guy in the middle of a public place standing up to someone for not wearing a mask. This is Tom friggin’ Cruise wielding his power and threatening and degrading his crew.” https://www.huffpost.com/entry/leah-...b6e5158fa7e6d6 |

“They say I do it, ain’t nobody caught me / Sure got to prove it on me / Went out last night with a crowd of my friends / They must’ve been women, ’cause I don’t like no men,” Ma Rainey declares in “Prove It on Me Blues.” That 1928 tune isn’t performed in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, the new film based on August Wilson’s 1982 play that premiered Friday on Netflix. But Viola Davis, who is deeply familiar with Wilson’s oeuvre — she won an Oscar for her role in the 2016 film based on his play Fences — quotes that song in revealing how she leaned into Rainey's unapologetic queerness. As Rainey, Davis oozes with sexuality, not only in the opening scenes when she’s flanked by writhing women onstage, or in scenes where she holds her girlfriend Dussie Mae from behind — but with every wave of her fan, each note she belts, and every chug of her ice-cold Coca-Cola.
“In researching Ma Rainey, she was unapologetic about her sexuality,” Davis tells The Advocate. “This is a woman who went to orgies. She was arrested at an orgy. I felt like Ma always had a woman with her. A lot of the women who dance with her were her women. She had orgies with them. That was her world. I didn't want to sweep it under the rug.” At 19, Davis was first introduced to Rainey when she took in a production of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom at the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, R.I., with Barbara Meek in the titular role. “Barbara Meek was the actress, for me. I just felt like she was transformative. She was great. She was all those reasons why I studied acting,” Davis says. “What struck me is from the moment she came on the stage, [Rainey] knew her worth. I did not see a woman who had to scream for it, yell for it, whatever. She just absolutely took the space without out apology. And I loved it,” Davis says. “My heart pounded. I thought it was fantastic. That was my introduction to Ma.” https://www.advocate.com/film/2020/1...e-black-bottom |

Emma Thompson was characteristically frank about Hollywood’s double standard during a recent interview with the CultureBlast podcast. The “Nanny McPhee” star, who is also a prolific screenwriter, was talking about her upcoming film “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande,” which she said is a refreshing change of pace from the the typical Hollywood film about women who have romances with men decades older than themselves.
Directed by Sophie Hyde, “Leo Grande” is the story of a widow whose late husband had been an unsatisfying lover, so she decides to seek out a sex therapist in his early 20s. Thompson’s character in the film says, “The only people willing to sleep with me are my age and I want to sleep with someone younger than me.” But it’s very rare for women to express that desire for a younger man onscreen, she says. “If I have someone playing opposite me in a romantic way, they have to exhume someone, because I’m 61 now,” she jokes. “You get past 50 and you’re invisible.” Meanwhile, she says that it’s completely acceptable for George Clooney to have an onscreen romance with someone who is 30 or 40 years younger than him. “It’s completely unbalanced,” she says. But she holds out hope that the industry is changing. “If people aren’t averse to seeing someone who is 61 largely naked, with a very much younger person, it’s going to be very interesting. We’ve got to keep being brave.” |

![]() Vanessa Bryant responds to mom’s ‘hurtful’ lawsuit, says Kobe ‘would be so disappointed.’ Vanessa Bryant is reportedly calling a new fraud lawsuit filed by her mom “unimaginably hurtful” and says her late husband Kobe Bryant would be “so disappointed.” The widow of the Lakers legend was sued by her mom, Sofia Laine, in a 48-page complaint filed Tuesday in Orange County Superior Court. In the paperwork, Laine, 68, claims she deserves compensation after working for years as an unpaid personal assistant and nanny for her daughter and Kobe before the NBA superstar died in a helicopter crash in January. ![]() From left, Vanessa Bryant, Natalia Bryant, Gianna Bryant and Sofia Laine attend the game between the Lakers and the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 29, 2015 in Los Angeles. (John Salangsang/John Salangsang/Invision/AP) She claims Kobe “promised” to take care of her for life, and she counted on that vow. “Unfortunately, Kobe Bryant’s promises did not see the light of day as he is now deceased, and Vanessa Bryant took each and every step she could to void and cancel all of Kobe Bryant’s promises,” the lawsuit alleges. In a statement to People.com, Vanessa said her mother is trying to “extort a financial windfall from our family.” “I have supported her for nearly 20 years, and she was never my or Kobe’s personal assistant, nor was she a nanny,” Vanessa, 38, said. (JEAN-BAPTISTE LACROIX/AFP/Getty Images) The widow said she’s always been a stay-at-home mom, acting as full-time caregiver for her daughters Natalia, 17, Bianka, 4, Capri, 18 months and Gianna, the 13-year-old basketball prodigy who died alongside Kobe, 41, in the devastating crash. “For nearly two decades, we arranged for my mother to live in our nearby properties, at no cost to her because she had claimed that she didn’t have any money to buy her own home after her divorce,” Vanessa said the statement. “My husband and I felt it was best for her not to live in our home. She watched our girls from time to time, just like most grandparents do. She did not take care of business issues or expenses,” she said. Vanessa claimed the support was provided at her request, not her husband’s. “(Laine) now wants to back-charge me $96 per hour for supposedly working 12 hours a day for 18 years for watching her grandchildren. In reality, she only occasionally babysat my older girls when they were toddlers. As of 10 years ago, our kids were full-time students and athletes, and I didn’t have another child until 2016. Her claims are obviously false but I still tried, repeatedly, to work things out with my mother,” Vanessa said. “Earlier this year, I was looking for a new home for her and, a week later, she went on television and gave an interview disparaging our family and making false accusations while living rent-free in a gated apartment complex in Newport Coast,” Vanessa continued. “Even after that betrayal, I was willing to provide my mother with monthly support for the rest of her life and that wasn’t good enough.” [Kobe Bryant Slide Show: Cannot display, view on website.] She said her mother instead “demanded $5 million, a house and a Mercedes SUV.” “Because I did not give in to her hurtful threats and monetary requests, she has spiraled out of control and is making false and absurd claims,” she said, calling the lawsuit “disgraceful and unimaginably hurtful.” “My husband never promised my mother anything,” Vanessa said, “and he would be so disappointed in her behavior and lack of empathy.” Source: dailynews.com Website: https://www.nydailynews.com/snyde/ny...99TXcEmGiCP3z8 Date: December 17, 2020 |
