Today my slice of heaven is in my femme cave. Time to start a new project and I think I’ll paint some doors. I have a couple doors that have been primed, but not pained and I have some paint that’s just waiting to be opened.

It’s in the femme cave while watching the snow fall and doing minor chores. Will also fill out (fill in, whatevah) my absentee ballot for POTUS just in case the snow keeps me in on our 1st primary voting day on Feb 28. We have another primary voting day later this year for other offices.

In my kitchen, surrounded by all my tools that I am picked to create nourishment, while also creating joy for myself, and those I offer my food. I love standing at my kitchen sink and looking out over part of my gardens, I’m staring at a real life snow globe. My sink is as old as the house, 1904. Steel. Cool to touch. Comforting almost to my hands that have lasted, almost 7 decades. I can reach out and touch the utensils my mother once he used to her kitchen. Where is she her family until the day she died at the kitchen table.
I used to think what made me femme was found in my make up and wardrobe. But I see now it is here at my kitchen window. You can strip me all my make up and put me in different clothes and I’d still be me, standing here…

My slice of heaven is out in nature, especially on cloudy, overcast or hazy sky days, with resplendent birdsong and the sound of wind whispering through the pines or trees, and the scent of rain drenched earth in the forest or out in the desert. Birdsong too. That’s the slice of life that I enjoy the most. 🥰

My slice of heaven today...

My sunroom/craft room. I've spent 2 days cleaning the layer of dust off the plastic bins and floor. I've gone thru every bin of my Mom's. Oh so sweet to find her started projects and her stash of what she was planning on doing. I found a class supply list of a class she was teaching. I've found envelopes of things I sent her. I'm currently going thru the seperate piles of embroidery, trims, notions, kits and the like. Some things I'm keeping, regifting, donating or listing on line.

I've rearranged the bins, the table and moved the chair. I've ordered some teal blackout curtains. It gets really warm in here with the morning sun. I'm sitting here now, thinking of making a skirted cover around the sewing table so I can add a pop of color and hide some smaller tote boxes under them. I'm thinking of a fancy label to make so everything is labeled and I can find stuff later...lol

Today...this is my slice of heaven!
