Portland Rose Festival kicked off last night with a massive display of drones and fireworks: three weeks of fun to be had in my metro area. Ships, carnivals, food tasting, art markets, museums and tours of places to be on the top of your list to see.

The starlight parade was last night, the Grand Floral Parade begins tomorrow, and there will be LGBTQ Bands leading the parades over the weekend. Dragon Boat racing is huge here, so get your cameras ready, lol.

We have the world famous Rose Gardens up in the West Hills, and The Rose Quarter which is home to the NBA team of The Trailblazers and the WNBA TEAM — Portland Fire 🔥 (their first game was sold out with over 10-11k in attendance. We also have a soccer team: The Timbers.

Our international airport just got a major overhaul but don’t worry, 😉, hopefully the Mighty Columbia River Gorge will keep it afloat.

Oh, so to be thread compliant: Spring brings many beautiful flowers , like Roses, and I adore pink roses of all shades, especially the pink ones that were planted in the late 1800s in the LLOYD district area. Speaking of which, The Rosarians of our Portland area is not quite what it used to be. I hope this changes soon because we’re the City of Roses (aka Rose City).
