I light a candle tonight for Ashley, 14 years old.
She took her own life yesterday.

I light another for all the youth out there who think they have no hope, no alternative but to take their own lives.
I pray in Jesus name that their will be someone in their own lives to make a difference.

For Ashley

for the young man who took his life at UT Austin this week, and went on a shooting spree with an AK47 before he decided to kill himself.
Whatever made him decide to do what he did, may it NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
I pray that anyone who feels the need to do this, that they reach out and find the help they need. I feel so bad for those who feel so desperate in life to do such a thing.
I pray that anyone out there in the world that needs help, can get it for FREE, anytime they need it. In Jesus name I pray this. AMEN.

Lighting a candle for Dolo. She is having persistent headaches, which the doc said is caused by swelling of the brain. They told her that the only thing that will help is Cortisone, which she doesn't want to take. She also is having irregular heart beats again ... didn't tell doc because she felt that they would go away

Dolo has had for a long time, back pain, which is worse. In the states, Vicodin helped her. They don't have it in Switzerland. We went through suggestions of patches, etc. that she should ask her doc for. I can't send Vicodin in the mail, but perhaps the next person going to visit can take it there for us. we made a game plan for all these returning or new symptoms.

Her oncologist, whom she really adores, is moving in December. This has made her sad.
In all, things don't look very good right now. I hate that she's afraid. Nothing makes Dolo afraid. So please, prayers and light for courage and hope.

A Florida man on a cross-country bicycle ride to raise awareness and money for victims of this year's massive Gulf oil spill was struck and killed by a passing vehicle just days before finishing the journey.

Roger Grooters began his ride across America Sept. 10 in Oceanside, Calif. The 66-year-old man's family tells the Pensacola News Journal that he was just days from finishing his 3,200-mile ride when he was hit by a truck outside Panama City, Fla., Wednesday morning.

I light it for his journey and for his family..
