I am afraid my own verbal ticks include many a "like," "um" and "yaknow." I wouldn't mind having better control of that.
I don't mind the word "hot," but I'm pretty tired of "hot mess." I'm tired of the current racist connotations of the word "immigrant." I am tired of hearing people say the tea party is "libertarian" when it simply is not - at least not socially. I am sick of the term "politically correct" used as a get-out-of-jail-free card for saying awful things. I am tired of hearing the word "retarded" used casually to refer to anything or anybody a person doesn't enjoy.
