I am tired of hearing this phrase - "What the American People Want" or "What the American people are saying..." Who are the "American People"? And how do the users of such a phrase know what we want? Have they spoken to each every one of us?

No one asked me. And I don't want many of the things the so called "American People" want. Aren't I part of the American People?

Ok, I will get off my box now. But it vexes me every time I hear that phrase. grr!

And while I am at it...

Win-Win Situation
and
Do More with Less

These two phrases are truly wearing out my last nerve! These two phrases have been worn out since the last 3 lay offs.

One of my college teachers had us do a little experiment....go through the weekend (it was a M W F class) and, every time we would have said 'sorry' to replace it with "I apologize". Though the point of the assignment wasn't strictly just to notice the amount in which we do, or not, say 'sorry' that was definitely a side effect. Everyone came back on Monday realizing just how much we say it, and, how often we do or do not mean it.
