The older I get, the more I realize...
*The more Mother Nature wins out over everything else. *No matter what I say or do, some people are takers/givers. I need to find more givers. My energy level is gone for the takers. *How concerned I am over my legacy I am going to leave to my nieces and nephews. *I too love 80's music. But I do enjoy Johnny Mathis, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and the Rat Pack. |

the older i get, the more i realize...
that whatever i do, whatever i say, whatever i feel... or however hard i try... it always pisses somebody off. and, being just me is never enough, or good enough, or true enough... to please anybody anymore.

The older I get, the more I find I like uncomplicated people, things, etc. ... and am realizing I am enjoying being older. (54 years old right now) I was talking to a friend the other day about what a simple life I lead - on purpose! It is nice to feel content, not have to worry about trying to outdo anyone or "shine" in any way ... but to only be comfortable being my "simpleton" self. LOL! Once in a great while, when I find I am interacting with a person who seemingly is buying into their own inflated ego and perhaps trying to "one up" me or exhitbit how much smarter, etc. they are than me ... I let them ... and then quietly dismiss them from my life. Same thing for gamers ... if people are still playing games at 50+ that is fine but not someone I want to be around.
Things of this nature drain my positive energy. Life is too good these days. I am so blessed in many ways.

That I haven't changed, If you liked me in my 20's you will like me in my 40's. If you didn't like me in my 20's you sure aren't going to like me in my 40's.
I still have a zero tolerance to BS, I still say what I mean and mean what I say. I'm still...... just........me. No more and no less. I still love with a passion, still compassionate, loving, kind, considerate. |
