Happy Sunday afternoon!

It's been a busy weekend...and no sleeping in *sigh* ...getting a lot done though and, yes, I did get to enjoy the pool. Definitely the highlight of the weekend on both days!

Bracing myself for a busy week...I leave for AZ again a week from today...and poor Scoote is going to have to get Rooster to the airport (ouch) since he's headed to NY for spring break. Feels weird to have him leave while I'm away, but I'm sure it'll go fine.

Any news on the job hunt Zimmy? Still have my fingers firmly crossed for you.

So your job is taking you to AZ? for a conference? Nods.. I imagine scoote will be hurting doing the airport run.. however, she is made of tough stuff.. I have faith in her. smiles.

I bet the pool was wonderful.. what are the temps like? It is actually supposed to get close to 70 degrees here tomorrow.. although I think we are in for a bit of rain.. I know they are calling for thunderstorms on Tuesday.. I think Spring is finally here.

I hope you both have a peaceful end to the weekend..

Good afternoon everyone! Its in the 70s here but I woke up to tales of horrible weather around the country. Hope everyone is safe. How is the back, Scoote?

I am going outside to see the daffodils that are up..they look lovely from my kitchen window. Last night I went to a play called Fatso. And tonight, another play. Cant remember its name. I love live theater. My sister and i and a few friends do the live theaer circuit.

Good Afternoon everyone!! LOoking for that next cup of coffee I think another pot is in order for me today. Just relaxing after a long week of cleaning the house and getting rid of stuff for Passover next week or in two weeks but we have a lot to do!! hey hey everybody!!! long time no type....was working a lot there for a bit...then finally blew a disc completely out onto a nerve...put on strict bedrest--still decidning if that is worse for me or poor Jo...im not good at doing nothing all the damn time,and Jo is prolly at her breaking point of trying to keep me in line plus dealing with my hit or miss moods....However hopefully things will get moving quickly bc it seems here in the state of Florida they take workers comp seriously...i received a call from the state on Fri...making sure everything was going ok and letting me know a check has been sent out and to let them know if things get bogged down

As for the temps here---today was well over 90...thinking high 80s are forecasted for the coming week with a thunderstorm possibly on Thurs....the pool was wonderful..jo and rooster were in it b4 10 today.

Hello My friend,

I know exactly what you are going through. I went through the same thing.. I had the surgery 4 years ago this year.. but I blew the disc 3 years before that. It was My L5... and it sat on My S1 nerve that runs down My left leg. The pain was unbelievable when it blew.. If you need to talk about it .. or get advice.. or just want to bitch.. just PM .. Me.. ok? I feel for you. It is hell to go through on so many levels.

I just checked the weather for tomorrow. ... and they are forecasting.. the uppers 70's.. which is beyond what they were looking at yesterday. However, up here.. as Jo well knows.. it can change in an instant. So I will believe it when I get up tomorrow and see it. If it does get up there.. I am going to spend some time at the Lake in the afternoon.. once I get some work done in the morning.

Thank you for the welcome back.. and you are welcome as to the meditations.. I will keep you both in them..

I hope you are able to get some rest tonight.. and Jo too.. it sounds like both of you need it badly.

Keep your heads up.. things will smooth out.. glad to hear that WC is not putting you behind an 8 ball on getting money to you and all of that.. that is a blessing indeed.

Jake....thats what i've done exactly. My first injury was about 4 yrs ago--i bulged the L4 L5 touched the S1 nerve...back then and up till last week it was my right leg i had issues with...last week when it happened it was my left leg...i was in tears--which i dont do...they have me on dilaudid...i had stopped taking them and went back to a half a loracet here and there bc of ummm "going" issues..last couple nights ive resorted back to taking a dlaudid...what kind of surgery did you have? perhaps i should just pm you so i dont overtake my sweeties thread..

Good morning everyone

The coffee is on, and here's what I really feel like this morning...



It's going to be another busy day in the Scoote/Jo household...running kids to school, tons of stuff for work to get ready for another AZ week and Rooster's trip to NY...

Thanks for sharing your "back trouble" issues with Scoote, Jake. It helps to hear what others have gone through. At this point, we're waiting to hear that they've approved the MRI and the consult with the neurosurgeon...and then we'll hear what they have to say. Luckily, the state of Florida seems to have an entirely different approach to workers comp than where she was before. It's nice knowing there's a government office that's ready to push back against the insurance company on your behalf. Being me, I'm not entirely trusting of any of them...and am still ready to go hire a seriously nasty lawyer if need be...but we'll give them the chance to do the right thing first.

Oh...and the "old" was definitely about the friendship, not the age! Having just turned 49 myself, far be it from me to call anyone "old"

Crossing fingers on that Bloomingdales job Zimmy...that would be fantastic! You'd just have to make sure you didn't have lots of spiffy new clothes and no paycheck after too much fun with the employee discount!

Enjoy those daffodils Softness....that was always my favorite part of Spring. We're already in summer weather here....supposed to get to 92 today. I'm loving having a pool in the backyard now for sure!

You and scoote are both welcome. Nods.. once they do the MRI.. they will have a better idea of what is going on .. (stating the obvious.. grins).. I had a wonderful neurosurgeon.. I hope scoote has the same luck.. the surgeon makes all the difference... that is for certain. I agree as to the WC thing.. that is awesome that they stand behind the people that are covered.. virtually unheard of really... especially fighting against an insurance company. I hope you do not have to get nasty with them.. however, after the buying the house process.. I have every confidence you would kick some ass.. grins.

laughs.. I knew you were kidding around.. *silently makes a note that you are older than Me*.. whistles..

I hope you have a safe trip.. and that the weather is good for you.. coming and going. I am sure scoote and rooster will hold down the household while you are away.. smiles.

Good morning everyone

The coffee is on and your breakfast tray is waiting...



I actually slept last night, for the first time in I don't know how long, and am feeling a bit better as a result.

Woke up to put on the coffee and saw a dark shape, out of the corner of my eye, floating on the surface of the pool. At first I panicked, thinking one of the cats had fallen in and drowned. Rubbed my eyes, looked again, and realized it was two female ducks, paddling around and enjoying a nice bath.

The cats were fascinated...two watching from the very edge of the pool, and Gracie Ann (the psycho kitty) getting all scared and worried every time they moved...finally she jumped behind the short fence that surrounds two sides of the pool, and watched them through the slats. Too funny! I had the Prince take pictures, and even woke Scoote up to take a look. Her reaction? "Oh great, now we have duck poop in our pool."

Good Afternoon kitcheneers.....Jo was so excited by the ducks using our pool as a bathtub that she woke me up right before 7 to show me...luckily all i had to do was raise my head when she pulled curtain back...and yes my first thought was bird poop and filth in our pool...however i was not too stressed over it as i fell back to sleep..

Jo let me go with her to Walmart last night to pick up a "few" things(which is NEVER just a few things) anyway i had taken a pill bc i was hurting just a little..just a dull ache that i thought would go away with a pill and some walking.....Boy was i wrong...half way thru sweat was pouring off of me,a 90 y.o woman flew by me like i was standing still,AND ( i know this will be hard to believe) but i got a little cranky...soooooo someone better preserve this bc i dont say this very often but.......Jo was right--it was too much....i had thought sitting/laying/moving about the house was not helping my back at all,but and i RARELY say this i was wrong!!!!

anyway---its another beautiful day here,but thinking since i burned yesterday i will just enjoy the a/c.....i hear Jen and Ms Belle met up....so i have to ask Bella how are your ears? That Jen sure can talk huh...lol...when Jo and i and the kids met up with her i was like "wow someone who can rival Jo" im only half playing i really enjoyed meeting Jen and look forward to doing it again soon....maybe we could include Bella(i know its belle but i like Bella ) and make a day of it!

Jake....are the temps still warm up ur way?.....thanks for all the talks it does help to talk to someone who has experienced this pain...helps me realize i am not a wussy

anyway i am gonna go take advantage of netflix and see if there are any good movies on!

First, you are welcome.. and it does help to talk about it.. and you are definately not a wussy... yeah.. the WalMart thing.. was probably not a good idea.. I know you hate having to rest.. however, you NEED to .. because if you keep pushing yourself.. especially since you do not know the full extent of what is going to be needed in the way of surgery, etc.. you could end up doing yourself more damage.. and type the type that can not be repaired. So, try to take it easy..

I bet the ducks were having a grand time.. washing up in your pool.. grins.. too funny..

The weather up here is alot cooler than yesterday. However, it is not cold by any means.. and the it has been pretty windy today as well as yesterday.

Sounds like you had a good time.. meeting up with Zimmy...just take it easy.. (as I repeat Myself again.. laughs)..

Hope you find a good movie on Netflix.. let us know what you end up watching..

hey Jake...i got that "i dont look sick" thing going on so i feel like im just being lazy...i tihnk its called a pride thing or something--or thats what jo says..grins..hell i cant figure out how come the power to the PS3 isnt working...i did all i knew-checked to make sure plugged in and still nothing...its plugged on a strip with TV and its working so it must just be me---we have to go thru the PS# to watch netflix soooooooo it looks like SVU til someone smarter than me comes along...lol
