'Mildred Pierce' starring Kate Winslet on HBO. I was very surprised I liked this movie that was aired in a miniseries format.

The story of a strong woman that was raising her daughters in depression era Glendale, a middle class suburb of Los Angeles. There was betrayal, romance, sexual tension, class struggle, redemption, mother-daughter relationship with all of its ups and downs, daddy's little girl/daughter idealizing her father that left the family. A woman that rises to the top both professionally and in her life.

We really liked Love and Other Drugs because we like the actors...okay, LOVE Anne Hathaway...but because how many love stories show a partner dealing with Parkinson's? Fantastic.

Black Swan was creepy good. Definitely worth a look.

The last movie we saw was Due Date.

The two most recent films I've seen:

'Get Low'
starring Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Bill Murray
Its about a hermitted old man who decides to plan (and attend) his own funeral.

I really wanted to like it; because the cast is excellent, the score is good, the concept is original and the humour is fantastically dry - a bit like 'Brother Where Art Thou' - but it was way too slow moving for me. I kept dozing off, I tried to finish it 3x; and never succeeded.

'Elling'
a Norwegian film about an odd couple, of sorts. Two mentally challenged men are placed in a half-way home together after spending a few years in an institution. It is a 'coming of age' film, of sorts.

This film was charming and very funny. The acting and writing were excellent. I really enjoyed it. It was touching and genuine in its portrayal of the characters and their issues. And wasn't exploitative in its humour. I laughed, out loud, a lot.

Iron Man 2
The Legacy...

Mitmo hadn't ever seen the Legacy, so I made her watch it... She said it wasn't half bad for a seventies satanic thriller....

heh

Iron Man 2.. I like the cgi and the chick who played black widow did an outstanding job (except for the american accent when Natasha was russian) Maybe it would have been better on the big screen, but I felt like the story line was a bit light...

I have a hard time when they make comix into movies... If it's a comix that I know, then I nit pic it to death... I have a hard time *suspending belief*

Burliques the movie, it is a bit older not a new release, but if you enjoy music and dance and gorgous outfits , it is a must see. Have to say it made me feel like a girl, loved it had me dancing around the house to the delights of my friend.

The last movie I watched was The Ring, I'm not a huge movie fan. In fact I usually can't stand to watch them, don't have the patience to wait for the ending haha. But once in a while I get a strong urge to watch a movie and I haven't seen The Ring in forever so I though it would be nice to watch it. That and Underworld I always return to those when I'm in the mood for a movie.

The only time I really watch one is when I'm spending time with my best friend and she wants to watch one. It's a great excuse for best friend cuddles. Which she owes me next time I see her haha.

I recently saw two movies. I saw "The Lucky One", which turned out to be really good. I really like how fate brings both people together and by just meeting that girl in the picture, his life changes so much. So good. The other one I saw was "Dark Shadows", which is funny and awesome, if you consider a vampire in 1972. I've seen the old show and really loved it. But, Johnny Depp is awesome. I'd recommend either one, really.

Well, I know many people who loved the show. I went because at the very least the music would be a TBT. Well the music was. But I can't say much about the rest of it. It was slow to get into, very flat in its direction, little energy except for the music. I think for me, none of the characters were portrayed with any depth, I didn't find them likable. But that is just my opinion. I did, however, come out singing and thought the last scene was great.

One other thing, prior to the movie a new app was advertised: the run and pee app. It tells you when in a film you have the best chance of going to pee and how much time you have to do it. I kid you not.

The last movie I saw was The Purge...scary how bloodthirsty people are portrayed, and unfortunately, how believable it is.

The last movie I watched was a documentary called 'The Woman with 7 Personalities'
A woman connects with her childhood friend who had seven distinct personalities, while also consulting with psychological experts about the rare condition.
I enjoy the documentary as I felt it was respectfully presented from a personal upclose view that wasnt overly clinicly garbled. (if that makes sense)
