I almost forgot what real love could mean to me. With a sweet smile and beautiful eyes, she lit up every moment I spent with her. Her hands seemed so enchanting, the way that everything she touched came to life. She redeemed my faith in love. Ups and downs are part of the roller coaster of life, without one the other can't move, can't groove. I feel like part Hallmark Card, part Doomsday Predictor on most days. On the worst days, a goodbye feels like inconsolable sorrow. On others, it just means "see you later" and the place where that might happen is negotiable only between the inextricable folds of life, death, and fate.

And then the day came,
when the risk
to remain tight
in a bud
was more painful
than the risk
it took
to blossom.
