Been smiling for several days .... someone dear to me got a very difficult surgery behind her this week ... and per her doc, her surgery went "very well" .... Hooray for her! I was sure screwy the morning of her surgery .... the muscles in my butt cheeks were scrunched up so tight, I feared my chair, the carpet and wall behind me would all be pulled in.

Yesterday:

The bridge i expected to be closed on a drive yesterday evening was still open;

A phone conversation;

Coffee and conversation with wonderful friends;

Dinner, conversation, music and laughter with a very special friend;

A wonderful, bright smile in response to a gift and card;

A hug; and

Jamming to new music cds on the drive home!

Bob is very cuddly today. He is even allowing me to kiss him on the head without biting my nose. Punk. His Highness is now taking a nap on his personal dog chair (my lap). I have had a great couple of days. Bike fixed, very nice phone call last night (I am actually starting to believe again) and a beautiful sunrise ride this morning. Patience is what is required. I am getting there.

My car broke down...finally....for reals.

On my way to the new apartment to finish painting the trim.

It was 4 blocks from the apartment so I got my bags and walked on the nice, level, sidewalks and crossed the busy intersections with protected lights. And then later after painting, I walked in my "downtown" to lunch. Was planning the bus to go to Wal-Mart, but my bro was available early to drive me back to the house (20 miles away).

I <3 the new place so much already, just because of LOCATION and non-car friendliness!

I am ....
Now off to bed...

At first it thoroughly annoyed me that I drove all the way to work tonight only to be told "Did so-and-so forget to call and tell you that you have the night off?" Why yes, so-and-so forgets to call and tell me a lot of pertinent information. Grrr. But then...I realized, woohoo! Extra time to work on homework, goof around and actually sleep in my own bed! Yay me!
