Postcards...

has become a lost art. There is something about the choosing of the card, letter, etc., and the pen...and the actual mailing of it that can be a beautiful ritual. One that requires time, planning, and care. The fact that someone would do this for me means they invested their time to do so. What better gift than to be thought of like this? There is a special someone on this site that sends out postcards that are photographs he has taken...he attaches the original photo to a thick paper the size of a postcard...writes an incredible, loving message and then MAILS it to me. I have treasured these as if they were touchstones...well, yes, they are indeed my touchstones.

I love the idea of connecting this way. Jo, I have PM'd you my address and would like to be a part of this.

i think we are up to between 18-20...Jo will get an accurate count when someone intervenes and gets her outta the arcade....i would,but she may hurt me badly!

As a matter of fact Nina i would NOT be opposed to getting a postcard in MY name once in awhile---because i know all the ones that we get will be addressed JO and scoote and thats just because she got everyone convinced she is so sweet and nice and needs to be pitied for having to deal with me all the time.

hell she even buys dark chocolate so she dont have to share with me

now who is REALLY the one that needs pitied in this relationship?

She's making this up...except for the dark chocolate part. I buy that because I prefer it. *harrumph* She's always trying to get me in trouble.

I had this amazing Pelikan purple swirly fountain pen (with purple ink of course) and while I have several, it was my favorite. It was a gift from a dear friend.

It was stolen in January and I just can't seem to get used to my others.....I use them (because they're nothing like a fountain pen, IMO).

I love letter~writing.

...all I am having a problem with is which one will appeal most to your sense of humor...it's fun trying to get it right!...safe travels to all of you...I know we'll all enjoy getting a look at the beauty of your vacation...

Jo has been busy with work and organizing the addy list and making sure it gets out that she has not had time to go find postcards yet...i know how much she wants to send some from our area out so i am gonna take it upon myself to go find some tomorrow so we can get them out before our trip...then when we are in the Bahamas we may or may not look together...but either way we will be double tagging everyone in the next 2 weeks.

cant wait to start getting them in our mailbox--especially my vey own one

___ahh yes - actual words on paper - the way a finely crafted pen glides across a thick piece of fine stationary - while instant communication is incredible - there is something to be said for the dance of giving and receiving of a letter in the post - the sweet anticipation-the hope perhaps that your letter is received with even the slightest flutter of a heart or sigh from a lover - or the giggling smile of a child - or the internal peace and happiness from a parent or grandparent when they read your words --or the grateful heart of a friend - who simply needed something besides an onslaught of the usual bills and notices and junk mail. I am not sure how to get on this list - or if even still possible --but it would be great to participate in such an exchange!

Mailed 8 more postcards today. This has created a writing frenzy for me...it is good to return once again to something that had brought me years of joy but I somehow lost my way with it all about two years ago. It's nice to be home again in my own skin and a fountain pen in hand.
