~Shaded Shadows~

Watch me leave now
You have chosen to close your eyes on too many things
That were so very vital to our existence

I sacrificed my soul willingly into your care
But in doing so, I have learned, I've grown up
And I have decided to take me back
I am too valuable a human being
And I surrive on emotions of which you can not return

You have left your eyes closed for too long now
But I have finally gained the courage to open my own
And I see you now as somehow different
I do not expect what you can not give anymore
I accept you as you are
A person reaching for similar heights
But with wants and needs different from my own
But different does not mean destructable

Our worlds are not running parallel any longer
So I have gone to follow my own path without you
And I am prepared to walk it alone

But with sun follows shadows
And I had been walking in your shadow for so long
Everytime I turned around to look behind me
There was a single shadow of you

Today I decided to only look at what was in front of me
And from a single rain puddle
I saw only a reflection of me
And the shadow of you?
Well, I just don't see it anymore
