Wow! Glad to read you are okay. My one visit to Boston, I loved it. I think there was also an earthqake in Colorado today. About a 5 point something. Looks like California is no longer the earthquake capital here in the states.

Geologist here
![]() Earthquakes on the east coast are uncommon, as there is no plate boundary nearby. However, there have been some real doozies-the 1886 Charleston, S.C. earthquake killed hundreds and was felt all the way to Boston. I think the coast from Washington south has a hurricane to worry about later in the week .

I'm just outside Baltimore, about 40 minutes from DC. It woke me up. We have had small earthquakes before but nothing like this. The whole house was shaking. I jumped out of bed and went straight for my dresser to keep my cologne bottles from falling to the floor. A lot of neighbors went outside and no one had a cell phone connection. Even the home phone was down. Very strange feeling. I've never before experienced anything like that in my life.

They are saying on local news (here in western NC) that it was felt as far as Atlanta. I was napping, so have no idea. I read about the one in Colorado too. Yikes.
