All this week its suposed to be in the mid 80's so in the evening im going to take up walking after dinner,im not going to stop going to the gym but a walk after dinner should be a good thing to do.
Another thing ive been doing is keeping a food journal, all this week I have managed to stay in the average carb count of between 75 to 85 carbs with a calories of between 500 to 600 a day,im not hungry cause if I was I would eat something but thats the way the coun ta havebeen going. My morning teat have been between 95 to 110 so im ok with that.I hope I get past the stall on the scales ive been on lately sooner than later.Have a great labor day weekend..I plan to go to the casino and give myself a mini vacationfor a fue hours.

Weigh-in is tomorrow. Looks like I'll be breaking my plateau and weighing in at 293!

Just to give a little perspective, my weight loss has been SLOW. As in molasses rolling down a hill of sand in winter SLOW.

I started at 335 in April. It is now September which means it has taken 5 months to lose a little over 40 pounds. I think I'm right on target as far as how permanent weight loss is supposed to go. That is an average of about 2 pounds a week which is exactly what the "textbooks" say is supposed to happen for the pounds to stay gone forever.

It's hard sometimes to stay focused when the numbers move so slowly but looking back on the time that has lapsed since April, I acknowledge that I very readily could have been doing NOTHING as opposed to doing SOMETHING and my weight would have still been 335 today.
It has helped me to keep that in mind when I feel discouraged.

ONE. DAY. AT. A. TIME.
ONE. HOUR. AT. A. TIME.
ONE. MEAL. AT. A. TIME.
ONE. BITE. AT. A. TIME.

Recently I came across this.
To lose one pound a week wich is 3,500 calories. If u eat 300 fuer calories a day while useing 300 calories a day 5 days a week working out,u should lose one pound or more a week.I got this from a weigh loss book at the wellness center...go figure.

It is difficult to be one of the slow losers! Particularly when we read of our fellow planeteers (word?) losing so quickly.

I weigh each day to help keep myself honest, still losing ounces and not pounds. I try very hard to keep the healthy eating aspect in the forefront, as in: " No, you didn't lose again but you totally stuck with your eating plan, yeah! Good girl!"

No, it doesn't always work but I plod along anyway. I wish I was like you faster losers but I am not. It is the way it is.

Medusa, you have been doing so great! Those pounds are gone, gone, gone! We must focus on our successes, not what we perceive as our failures to keep us on our positive path.

Hugs,

Hugs,
Personally, I congratulate you both for sticking with it. It can be extra hard when the progress is slow, but the important thing is the positive changes you're making to improve your health...regardless of the numbers on the scale.

In my line of work we talk a lot about being "directionally correct." We don't always get where we're going, in the way we expected, on the schedule we wanted. The critical part is moving in the right direction...making progress...pursuing the goal and moving towards it.

We're all directionally correct...no matter the speed...and I think we all rock!

I relate completely to this. It has taken me since May to lose 10lbs. That's a little over 2lbs a month. BUT - I weigh 10lbs less and I imagine by Christmas, I will be 10lbs less and then maybe my 50th -- another 5lbs. I just have to remind myself. I could be 20lbs more than I weigh now, had I not lost this weight.

Has anyone posted a playlist/list of songs for working out? If yes, can you direct me? If not maybe we can start a few list?

When I work out I need up tempo and its stuff I'd probably never listen to otherwise. Gloria Estefan, Cher, Donna Summers, Beyonnce

any good song list?

As far as I am concerned, Disco never died! My favorites for exercise always get me moving much faster and singing @ the same time:

Heaven must have sent you-Bonnie Pointer
I love the nightlife (Disco Round)-Alicia Bridges
Born to be alive-Patrick Hernandez
Disco Inferno-The Trammps
Got to give it up, Part I-Marvin Gaye
Love Rollercoaster-Ohio Players
The Boss-Diana Ross
Shake your groove thing-Peaches & Herb

Sorry if any "disallowed words" it just does that when I copy from the clipboard on my IPhone

I love workout and power walk to Reggeaton. Especially PitBull and Kat DeLuna. I also have Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Rage Against the Machine, Rammstein, Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, Korn and Lacuna Coil. I love mixing up my music. I mainly listen to dance and Reggeaton when I am at the gym and a mix of rock and Reggeaton while power walking. Here some of the songs I work out to:

On The Floor by Jennifer Lopez featuring PitBull
Shut It Down by PitBull
I Wanna Go, Circus and Till The World Ends by Britney Spears
Paradise City, Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child of Mine, November Rain and Patience by Guns N' Roses
Down In It by Nine Inch Nails
Just Cannot Get Enough and The Time<Dirty Bit> by the Black Eyed Peas
Guerrila Radio by Rage Against the Machine
Lies of the Beautiful People by Sixx A.M.
Crazy Babies by Ozzy
Drop It Low, Whine Up and Run The Show<Spanish Version> by Kat DeLuna featuring Don Omar
Not Ready to Make Nice by the Dixie Chicks
Rain Over Me by PitBull featuring Marc Anthony

If you want a good beat to keep up with, try Drop It Low by Kat DeLuna..I find myself really picking up the pace to that beat!

Have a great day,

Zimmy

Things have been strange lately. I'm struggling to find balance. Last week I was going to start my green juice fast and couldn't. This week I'll focus on eating fruits and veggies, all whole foods maybe sneak a piece of bread here and there. I'll see how I feel and then take the plunge. I wish my baby sister was here to do this with me. She needs to and I could really use the support. I can be strong for her but shamefully lack self discipline when it comes to sweets and rich foods. But I am now at 90% organic and 50% of my diet is raw.

Since this probably puts you nutritionally ahead of about 80% of the American population, (especially on the micro-nutrients), I think you could be forgiven a few indulgences.

I am striving for a similar ratio myself as well as reorienting my protein sources. Although it seems impractical for many, I think the rewards will be worth it for me. Already seeing some interesting changes.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

I sure will! I have definitely seen changes and admit I cheat all the time. I'm a real foodie- love fine foods. I can easily do without processed foods though.
