Is there anyone who would be interested in being my food journal partner?

We would 'report' what we are eating to each other, without feedback, sort of like the no crosstalk thread.

I know that it doesn't work for me to think of my food behavior as good or bad, though I have a goal of eating and living healthier.

I don't want my food journal partner to comment on what I am eating, nor will I comment on what my food journal partner is eating.

If you think you might be interested, or if you have any questions, please do feel free to PM me.

Anyone on weightwatchers online? Tell me what you think of it. I'm on nutrisystem and I'm getting bored with the food in the 2nd month this is not good so I'm looking into other alternatives. Will you help a planeteer?

Hey healthy friends,

Well....I had one of those days yesterday...fell off the healthy eating wagon and bounced along the ground for awhile.

I'm back on track today, and working hard at not beating myself up for it. Old habits, eh? On the plus side, I did eat a magnificent huge salad for lunch.

Going on day 3 of Atkins, the Syr took me to dinner yesterday, enjoyed a cheeseburger and caesar salad, minus the bun and croutons... luckily the restaurants here use local beef and I am enjoying eating meat again.

I admit I am struggling with even being on a plan, but i feel less swollen and full of energy ! After only a couple of days my rings feel loose and my jeans aren't cutting me in half. I refused to buy a bigger size!

I use to do this years ago. I would lose sometimes 20 pounds and then gain back more. I enjoy eating meat but keep it down to a few times a week- chicken 2 times a week, fish once, beef or pork once a week.

I am having a really hard time staying focused. I wasn't feeling well, cold/virus and juicing was upsetting my tummy. I seemed to have spiraled and went for lots of carbs using the excuse that it was easier on my tummy. It only took a week to revive my addiction.

I spent almost a week dragging my ass with a cold. I notice that when I'm not busy or when things clutter around me I punish myself with food. When i am emotionally frustrated I find comfort in sugar. It's like a reward-food and I'm trying so hard to change my thinking.

Today I feel better so I'll get busy around the house and try getting back on track. I'm feeling overwhelmed with work and that makes me wanna hide and eat ice cream. I am a strange creature.

I've gone down to 95 pounds only to gain back 10 then now twenty. I don't want to be 95 ever again but 105-115 would be nice..Gaining 10 pounds in one month was rough. My Doc said it should have come off when I got off the Prednisone, well it didn't.

Tonite I enjoyed sushi and a large salad. I'm ready for some variety! It's hard when the others are enjoying yummy stuff and I am not. Our family dinners are a big deal in the day, and it's hard when I want to enjoy what they are having. Blah.. With Atkins any slip up puts you back at square one with trying to get into Ketosis, so for now protein and veggies it is.

I am using WW online.
I'm really not a "meetings" person, so WW online seemed a better fit for me.
I weigh and measure myself at home.

Like anything else the system is as effective as the energy and effort you put in to it.

The first 2 months I was sooooooo diligent with tracking all of my food (every day) and my weight and my measurements (every week). And it was very effective -- using WW combined with increased exercise resulted in about 10lbs loss in the first 7weeks.

I think the concept of WW is quite simple:
When you hold yourself accountable for everything you eat/drink and the amount you eat/drink - you are likely to make better choices.

By the third month I started slacking in terms of tracking, I'm still struggling to get myself back in the daily habit. I have no excuse for not doing it. I'm online for at least 4hours every week day.
My weight loss has slowed - I have lost another 7lbs in the past 7weeks....but that is largely due to my significantly increased aerobic exercise. IF I could just get myself back in the habit of tracking on WW I think I'd be seeing more rapid weight loss.

Concise version: I really like WW Online and I think it is very effective when I use it consistently.

Sparkle,

Thank you for your input I appreciate it. I think that being consistent is the biggest and hardest thing to do. Especially me , I love to move my mouth... lol. I still have the book to help me with nutisystem, those tools are still useful to me. It's all about portion control , I'm gonna try still write everything down and be accountable ... I have plenty of food left for a month so it gives me time to see how I do before I venture out and waste more money. Ugh, this is truly a battle.

I have to keep on top of tracking. But sometimes and I don't. It is so very easy to let it slide. If I track, I lose weight. If I don't, I don't. I love to exercise, but if I don't track and exercise then for some reason my <addicted> brain is all like...ooohhh well I worked out for an hour so this MUST be okay....

and then I track and go to the gym and life is better.... so much better.

you on!!

Hey Healthies,

I've been using a new rule with myself for the last few weeks that seems to be working well for me; if I want to add something to my day food-wise, I have to pay for it in advance, in calories that is. Since "I'll work it off tomorrow" never seems to quite work out, I work it off ahead of time and then go ahead and have it guilt free!

Of course, what constitutes a treat now a days is more like walnuts in my salad as opposed to ice cream.

So far, so good!

hi all,
♥ checking in once again!
Still staying on track, and loving it !
Although i can't weigh in here in Oregon, i feel tremendous changes these days..

- the other day was the first day i could look in the mirror and actually like my body... normally i shy away from even looking at it, or hide..
- i wear clothes a lil more snug now, i don't hide my shape, that's new to me..
- i feel stronger in the sense of appetite, and am portionning so much better now.
- Mtn here saying she has a really cute BUM!....back to cooking dinner...
- (back to sylvie now, LOL) i have such a sense of knowledge with various ways of cooking and ways of cutting back calories now..
- temptations and foods that would normally be really difficult for me to pass on, aren't nearly as hard as they were...And the hard moments aren't lasting as long as they were..
- i bought a treadmill just before leaving for Oregon, so now have a treadmill and elliptical to work out on at home - all i need is weights and i'll be set..

am continuously happy for this weight loss the healthy way.. Last weigh in was 50 lbs lost, and it's been about 2 1/2 weeks since that weigh in.. i definitely know i've not gained, since my clothes are looser, yay... it's slow losing, but keeping it off and finding the journey gets easier as i go...

keep focused & big hugs to all ♥
