The Queer Texas Conference will be held November 11th and 12th 2011 on the University of Texas at Austin campus at the school of social work. It is a conference that brings together college, community and high school LGBTQ activists across the state to network, learn and discuss how to frame queer liberation work in a social justice/anti-oppression context.

Just want to say it was great to see everyone in Austin. The Austinites as well as the non Austinites!

Just wondering how I can be home sick for Austin when it isn't my home?

i thought at one point that you didn't have the connection but I just figured Gemme had that one covered!

I was bummed you guys didn't make it to dinner and we didn't make it to the blues thingy.

Hopefully I'll be there again someday and we can meet up more that visit!

I'm home, but after a fun filled, people filled week, my quiet little house is feeling pretty empty. Luckily the dog has been up in the cuddle chair a bit but otherwise it's pretty empty here!

One of Austin’s favorite family-friendly events, Austin Empty Bowl Project has provided local potters, musicians and restaurants the opportunity to help hungry Central Texas children for more than a decade. Always the Sunday before Thanksgiving, for $20, you can purchase a locally hand-crafted bowl filled with your pick of delicious soups and bread donated by local chefs. All proceeds are donated to the Capital Area Food Bank.

-- and some kind of peppermint mocha alcoholic drink, probably mulled cider or other holiday-like drink

I just noticed that Blanton Museum of Art UT just got a piece by Anslem Keifer. I'm tempted to make the drive to Austin just to see it.

Blanton museumtrip and on campus is a great place to visit. Also if your making the trip check out the Harry Ransom Center as well its a couple of block away from the Blanton! And a little bit south of downtown is the UMLAF sculpture gardens well worth the time.

Give us a heads up sure there are folks that would like to join you.
