Pat Summit has stepped down as head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols after 38 years. She is now Head Coach Emeritus. She will still be involved with the team and the UT athletics department as a mentor and spokesperson. Holly Warlick, assistant under Pat for 27 years, is now Head Coach- and rightfully so.
I am incredibly sad and wish Pat all the very best. To see how womens sports have progressed since I was a young kid is truly amazing. Pat had a major impact and leading role in that, along with Title IX and other things. Beyond all her victories and success as a coach she also has touched so many lives. Every single one of her players graduated with a degree from the University of Tennessee. Here is a video with two former great Lady Vol players - Chamique Holsclaw and Carla McGee- giving their thoughts on Pat and what she means to the Lady Vol players.

One thing i said to Bully after listening to a bunch of her team members from coaches to players, it stands out to me how supportive she has been/is to everyone she meets. She truly believes in people. All people. I feel that is why she has stood so far in front as a leader. So many stories we are hearing on local TV about her, it's hard not to shed some real tears of loss as well as pride.
