The Hunger Games - I saw it even after the mixed reviews here and elsewhere. While it's not a perfect film, it's a necessary one. My group was on the edge of their seats and very affected by this dystopic vision.

I highly recommend the film and would catch this on the big screen. The lead actor, Jennifer Lawrence, who plays the character Katness, is definitely one to watch. She was absolutely compelling in this. And here's to a film and book that puts female archer with the ability to convey both compassion and strength as the story's protagonist.

Books are more open to individual interpretation. Films present a director's vision.

It's hard to compare genres - operas based on Shakespearean plays, ballets based on stories, films based on books.

For sure, both the book and film Hunger Games are worth exploring.
