oh my gosh. i attend a united church of christ that went through the open and affirming process several years ago and several people left because of it from what i know. unfortunately only a very small number of ucc churches are o&a because of things like this. many individuals have left the denomination because the denomination has proclaimed an o&a stance (although individual churches are autonomous and can decide themselves whether they want to affirm it). i can't afford to donate right now but will be sharing this with other queer folks and folks in the ucc i know.
