What I believe about crushes:

1) When a crush isn't reciprocated, it dies of attrition.

2) Crushing can give people the energy to get a friendship started. They might never act on the crush, or it might atrophy (see #1), but then the good news is, they have a new friend!

3) For me, a crush is something I feel for someone who isn't real to me—like Jane Lynch or Martina Navritalova, both of whom are like little people I put in the doll house of my fantasies.

4) If you're a "real" person (i.e., there is possibility of meeting you), I won't crush but might go straight to "like." And really liking someone is euphoric for me, a chemical experience in which my brain purrs.

4) On BFP I don't crush exactly but a couple times I've sensed something in a person's posts that is missing in my life, and it started a longing for that thing, which isn't exactly the same as longing for that person or crushing on that person.

5) I'm not sure I know what a crush is, though I talk like I do.

A crush to me comes in many forms and can develop into many things if or if not acted upon.

1. It is possible to have what I call a butch or bro crush on here and in real life. For me it has nothing to do with sex but more an admiration or an OMG I wish I had said that that way thing....or yeah that's it.....or even I want to be just like hym/him when I grow up.

2. A crush has always been to me something it was okay to have on people in the entertainment field....will not divulge mine they show how old I am lol...

3. A crush on a femme whether here or in rt is the thinking stage for me or the OMG why am I so shy all of a sudden stage it is that spark that starts the process. The one that comes before lust and is oh so much more then lust.

4. I also agree with Scout that sometimes a crush on here is a longing a recognition of something missing in my life, my community, and can have nothing to do with whether or not I want to be in a romantic relationship with the person that wrote it. It can also be the start of the romantic process...

5 Is it not wonderful how one word "crush" can mean so many things and they are all positive things. Things if acted on can only enrich a life.

Now back to the torturing of Mr. Nice Guy that wants to know so bad a name of someone we are crushing on.......

My crush has lead to so much more already and is actually more then a crush right now.......she is the first person I acknowledge when I wake up and the last person I say good night too, every night.......and in between it is her face, her voice , that fills my dreams and fuels my desires....

So I guess this is my last post in the crush thread since my crush has developed in to more then a crush....but not my last time reading I am still hooked on this thread and its romance just time to go back to it being a not so secret pleasure again.....

just because every femme deserves at least one a day to show her we butches appreciate you and all you do and maybe that one gesture produces a smile

Okay, so even though I have surpassed "crush" for one, I am now onto absolutely Twitterpated. I still have "crushes" on a few butches on here. What they write, how they respond to things, the messages I get all play a part in that crush. A crush for me (on BFP) is a feeling you get when you see them post and maybe you check to see what they said today and you get a bit giddy when you get a message from them. But, in all truthfulness I love to crush knowing that it isn't going anywhere, it keeps me 'tingly' through the day and then that special someone gets the benefit of my 'tingles'. Doesn't mean that in the fantasy world things might be different, I am just a realist, and an insatiable one so I need someone here with me, not far, far away across the boarder. And yes every crush is different, some are 'that's a fascinating person' and some are 'wow, if things were different, I would be all over that'.

But, still just crushes that I enjoy, and friends that I make.

My two cents to all you butches that are crushing, take the first step. I know how I feel when that happens, and even if you don't get the girl, you may make a great friend.

Someone very wise pointed out to me today, as I was making fun of how the butches just show up on this thread to look around and see if anyone is crushing on them—as opposed to owning up to who THEY are crushing on—that the femmes don't name names, either.

Maybe the idea is just for people who have crushes to all show up in the same place and mill around and wonder about each other. What are the chances of them being the object of each other's crushes? Maybe pretty good!

People are we in the seventh grade or what????

I suggest anyone with a crush PM the person you are crushing. Let her/hyr/him know how you feel! Own it! I dare you!

Laruss, I like what you wrote and to see the word twitterpated made me chuckle. I think that what you said is so true about every crush being different and unique in their own way. The crushee (s) have different things to offer us and we can be attracted to them for that. I think it is a good thing to have more than one crush going. I understand the realistic side as well and for me personally distance can be an issue. But I love meeting people who I'm crushing on even if it is only through the site.

Being a naturally shy person, I also like when a butch makes the first move ~ not always because I'm shy but sometimes because I'm just so damn oblivious lol. The one I'm with right now made the first move by chatting with me in the BFP chat room and asked to get to know me better. While sometimes I may act like I am in the seventh grade, I think letting that crushee know is easier said then done in my opinion. Sometimes the object of your crush does not have the same feelings for you and at that point, instead of being in a crush.. you are crushed!
