What did you accomplish today?

Let's see......what have I accomplished today.....
Morning coffee and played on BFP while talking with SS

on the phone
Laundry (bout to get a load in/got one in dryer)
Dishes (not quite accomplished yet, next on my list)
Filled up gas for my car
Had breakfast
Had fruit for snack
***
Groceries
Cut up veggies for supper
Showered
Not necessarily in that order

1) Worked out

2) Talked to a poet I'd like to read in a series I'm co-curating

3) Talked to my Dad about a difficult subject, my Mom

4) Cannot share this one because I have to protect someone's privacy, but it gave me hope that the logistics of my breakup will be compassionate.

5) Finished a movie I started last night on You Tube.

6) Cleaned up the kitchen

7) Did the groundwork on getting honorariums for poets in the series I'm co-curating.

8) Watched last night's new episode of Episodes (on demand)

9) Am watching a movie I got from NetFlix, Beginners, and about man whose father comes out, at the age of 75

10) Found leads online in my apartment search.

And the day is young (-ish).

Lets see.....washed a brazilian pieces of the fridge that werent QUITE clean enough....put them where I hope they go in the fridge...

Put laundry upstairs and put it away as much as possible til the dresser is up there.....

swept the kitchen, shook out the rug....

brought a brazilian boxes of books upstairs where the bookshelves will go when we get them from PA......and still have MORE books left to bring over....note to self: NO MORE BOOKS!

groomed the cat....as much as he would allow....

did dishes....cleaned the sink/counters/stove etc..

cleaned out and set up my apple crate at a side table like ive been DYING to do...it looks SO CUTE!And it was FREE!!

got the majority of the heap under control by putting things in their intended destination...ie sorting...

THEN....i got to work

And got laundry done...food prep..dishes..meds...swept...took out the trash....various other things....but at least i get paid to do all that stuff here!! :P

What I accomplished today... (at work)

Me and my weekend sidekick work well together as a team and with the kids. We have been working on making Sundays a day of productivity so that the kids aren't just piled up on the furniture sleeping or watching movies all morning/day long. We have been working on a reward system (bribery in other words)... and what better way than food. LOL they are teens, however!

So anyway, during the week when we say productive time, there is no reward. It's just expected of them... but up until now, they were allowed to do whatever they wanted pretty much on the weekends. Within reason of course. Last week we started with cleaning the day room (sweeping, mopping, dusting). We had three takers and their reaward was a homemade apple pie that my sidekick fixed. Shall we say... the bragging from those three kids was great!!

So this week the productivity was to either fill out a job application online and show us or go out and pick one up and return it to us filled out in order to receive homemade banana-nut bread. Needless to say, we had seven takers!!

Now my sidekick and I both agree that we adults/staff should lead by example. We try to be just as productive in some way too. We certainly can't tell them to do something without being good role models right? So we took the corner where staff sits at two desks and tore it apart, cleaned, organized and rearranged... on top of our normal desk work and weekend chores of cooking, cleaning and laundering the bedding for all these kids.

Ha ha.... when we finished, and the kids were fed and rewarded we made a plate for the executive director and her secretary (who were working on grants on a Sunday) and ran it up to them. To top it off, ED's husband who is the director came down to pay a surprise visit and was thrilled with the progress of how my sidekick and I work together and are working this new insentive program for/with the kids. That is rewarding to us...

Next week who knows what the reward or the task will be but it's bound to be worth it all to see those kids movin' and groovin' with purpose!

woke up at 430 went to work and accomplished getting out of there early! Home to shower and nap.

woke up at 530. made a protein shake. went to work for 8 hours. got a haircut. shopping for household items. home to vaccum and clean toilets and tubs. made dinner. went for walk with doggie and my babe. . and now sleep!

I got up and went to the gym, played and got ready for a gig coming up with weekend, gave a 5 lessons, cleaned up a little around here, had coffee with a friend, made dinner, showered and now just chillin.

woke up early and started laundry...did dishes...tidied the living room and kitchen, changed our sheets, changed the cat box...looked for places down in SC/NC....took out the trash.....im certain there will be more before I go to work

woke up about 8 out of bed at 9

walked the pup.

made breakfast and coffee.

headed to work in 3 hours and I still plan on throwing garbage, mopping and vaccumming. we'll see.
