Oh, this was supposed to be B/F memories?

That came later, although to me, that early experience in London plus a family that traveled overseas often, might have led to an almost lifelong feeling that I'm meant to be an expat. That's part of my identity, too.

I remember having "crushes" on girls my age from early grades, but the first gut-twisting feeling I had was my sixth grade teacher. Today I would peg her almost immediately as a butch lesbian, but what did I know back then? She was a great teacher and a big support for me at a difficult age. Now I trace my love of educating and in part, my sexuality, to her.
