Looking out my big window
and watching two very sassy squirrels collaborating on their next move to get to the bird feeder. To observe their little minds hard at work figuring out how to get to the food is a wonder to behold. They turn themselves inside out, upside down, fly through the air, and other Cirque du Soleil body moves.
Finally, I went to the store and bought a big bag of squirrel food. Yes! they have defeated me! Ha! Watching all of my animals friends coexist peacefully really makes me smile. |

I was walking laps at the dog park this afternoon and this woman and her lab started tagging along. We had a nice talk about absolutely nothing. It was great and I was still smiling after she left.

What made me smile today was being able to walk into physical therapy with no crutches. Even got to go up and down the steps. I also got to see Dad today. He is pale and weak, but my heart just melts every time I see him. I hope so much he makes it home soon. The fevers are still spiking at night but the doc says they have found the bacteria strain and are using an antibiotic that seems to be working. Better days ahead I am hoping so I am smiling tonight because even though I hurt beyond belief (physically and emotionally) I am blessed. Finally, I am sure crawling into the bed tonight will also make me smile from the comfort. :-)

Having an early start to our day.....spending it with my honey bear....getting a new bed...
 (we have been TRYING to wait to get Teddy's uber comfy and gorgeous bed from PA...but...our old backs can't take it anymore )Going for breakfast and a much loved (and somehow forgotten) restaurant that I haven't been to in YEARS.... Setting up our fabulous new TV with both the Wii and Netflix (by proxy)....we already watched some really good movies! (I had been DYING to see Iron Man 2) Getting some stuff put up that needed to go in the spare room....the house is returning to some semblance of normalcy....  Messages from friends here <3 |

The kids were at a total loss as to what to get me for Christmas-until last night. I found out that a very reputable scuba diving school is offering certification for $100.00, including classroom materials and swimming pool equipment rental, down from $300. I'm going to check it out this afternoon, but as I understand it, I don't have to rent more equipment until the open water part in the spring. With that, I have a choice of Florida, the Gulf Coast, or Lake Ouachita down the interstate
. Scuba diving has always been on my bucket list, so I'm hoping mightily it's on the level. Maybe 2013 is looking up already .
