I'm really relieved by these responses. I know a couple who went to just one joint email account and it really put a damper on our friendship because I didn't know one of them well enough to be as emotionally open. I knew whatever I said to one would be read by the other so I just stopped writing unless it was something generic. Ew, that's a whole other thing to think about. Yeah, I don't think I'd feel comfortable emailing someone knowing it would be read by their partner. Again, creepy.
