The Flame is no longer around. The Gossip Grill is the new hang out spot. I don't know of any events happening.. try www.meetup.com and look for The San Diego Lesbian Meet Up. They have events listed there.

Speaking of San Diego Pride...

If anyone is going, it would be great to meet up! I am working with Pride this year, so I'll be running around but I'll have some downtime.

We could make a meet up place in the grass by the main stage to talk and hang!

tomorrow, sunday June 2nd, we will be 'celebrating' the passing of a historic location.
The Palms Bar of West Hollywood, over 40 years old, is closing its doors. Please come out and help us send it off in style. This is (was) one of the OLDEST lesbian bars in the country.

So many of the past staff will be there (I was bartender and bouncer from '90 to '97). And I would love to share this emotional evening with any and all of you.

I'll be there at 6pm. If anyone is going, let me know so I'll look for you

Wow, memory lane. My first GF and I used to go to The Palms (and Peanuts) all the time in '79, 80.

Peanuts has been long gone...and so are my bar days.

Anya, I was a bartender at Peanuts also, from '92 to '00. Yes, it's also gone. So much of Lesbian history has passed into memories.

That weekend is supposed to be my weekend in San Diego. I should get in Saturday afternoon or evening and have time to meet up Saturday or Sunday

starryeyes, are you at the festival from early to late on Sat? Let's do it. Grassy knoll near main stage meet up and find shade for a picnic

Maybe we could all get together for lunch, unless you have to be there right after the parade. Maybe breakfast?

My BFF's and I will be there on Sat (7/13) around 9AM, for the parade starting at 11, to hear and feel the rumble of the Dykes on Bikes. We may take the train down from OC , and cab over to for the parade. Anyone want to meet and watch the parade together?

We were right here, on this side of the finish line waiting and watching and cheering for them all, and watching for Mike (My friend's brother) and Chris, among the 2,203 riders as they arrived from San Francisco. The US Supreme Court will deliver its decisions on Prop 8 and DOMA tomorrow morning. We will gather tomorrow (Wednesday) evening in Santa Ana to, we hope, celebrate, but more than anything, to come together as a community in times of great accomplishment or strife. Let's show Orange County, California, and this country that we are here.

I am not going to be at the Parade, but at the festival. I am working at the event, but we will set up an area near the main stage to meet up!

I am going to get an umbrella and blankets today and I'll post the colors!
