The last baby eagle went on his way today. After a grueling day yesterday with winds battering it around and almost out of the nest, Mom came back to feed him a leftover squirrel. Then, it spent a peaceful night on a branch with Mom by its side. When Mom left in the morning, it practiced flying to branches and landing back in the nest - it has to come back to get fed and seeing its older sibling is having landing issues, it wanted to be prepared, I think. At 10:45 it climbed up to the camera and mooned us for a bit then climbed up to the top of the tree. 5 minutes later it took flight. It is reportedly doing fine and resting in a nearby tree. Sweet. And sad. |

Smiled while listening to First Lady Michele Obama's 2015 Commencement Speech at Tulane University. The entire speech was excellent, but I laughed out loud and was grinning from ear to ear when she and the graduates did a short call and response.

Fuguing out all day to a song that was the musical equivalent of a staccato one-two punch in the face - it was familiar on a cellular level and my whole body tingled with electrical current when I first heard it.
I love music, but I've never become the song before. Now I literally can't stop listening to it. My eyes are two saucers. Maybe I really like it; maybe I know it from somewhere; or maybe I've finally gone over the edge, lol. Good thing I no longer care about such things. Life is too good!
