And yes sometimes it does make the tabacco taste nasty..actually what you are tasting is the true taste of the ciggarrette but not the tottal amount of it yet.

Your smell and taste buds change as you become more and more clean.
Hell I have super sonic sniffer now..ha I can smell everything.

Just keep doing well. And don't be asamed to use an aide if need be. That is what they are there for. For those of us who needed a crutch inbetween point a and b.

Just like Pamela said, it will taste shitty. Problem is, by cig 3 it will begin to taste good again. So, DON'T GO THERE!!!!

When I quit years ago..my little cheat turned into another 12 years of smoking because of that.

A person using an aid has incorporated a learning tool for assistance, thus possibly admitting the desire...need...for help to successfully quit smoking!! Now my thoughts have taken me to wondering if that building upon is what helps or lends in success? Then does one who quit cold turkey become more vulnerable to failure, utilizing no tools or assistance?

Either way.....deciding to quit smoking is very admirable and I continue to daily check this post. In my heart, I wish the best success to all who desire or need to quit.....and continued success to those who are living and breathing their continued success!!

Okay a friend is going to bring me an ecig they never used so I can check it out and I am looking at some herbal supports to help out too. I just really need to quit. Each failure at not quitting seems like such a bummer. And it is past time. enough with the excuses and such. I am going to be firm with myself. for myself.

okay still a wussy today. I am going to do my best to stave off smoking. goal... find smokers cleanse product to help out... focus on breathing and more breathing.

2 cigs today, not too bad. ugh didn't want to do any. I was taking a herbal supplement and it had oats, duh didn't think to look for that and itchy all over.
switching to the smokers cleanse and hoping that helps. staring at the ecig box thinking it is awfully complicated and I am not up for that at the moment. tomorrow I will tackle that. tonight just breathing. breathing and more breathing. oh and maybe ice cream.

6 weeks as of yesterday. I had tried to quit in the past but never stuck with it. This time I just decided out of the blue that I was done. Gave the last two away and did it. The first week was the hardest. I just stayed away from fellow smoker's and out of the gas station I purchased them at. When I want one I picture my babies' faces or other reasons I want to hang around this world a little longer.

6 weeks and one day later.... I feel healthier, I smell better (when it isn't 106 degrees out) and I can hit notes when I sing that I haven't been able to in a very long time.

The BEST, most POWERFUL cleanse of toxins for your body is drinking water. Lots of water. Hands down. Throw away all the other crap.

Can I make a suggestion here....

This thread is full of wonderful ideas that have worked for many.
I suggest you might read from first to last, then come up with a program that works fo r you personally.
Also , base it on those things which are tried and true.
But build it around your triggers/fears etc. so you take controle of yourself again. NOT the smokes.

This was actually posted for everyone trying at this time.
It truely did work for me.
And making sure you show up here daily helps as well.
Also holds you accountable to someone other than yourself..You know, in those times of sneak or cheat...ha!...smiles

YAY!!! Another non-smoker to add to the list Way to go Gren!! For anyone still struggling...just hang in there!! The cheer-leading squad is filling out nicely in here and you have a whole lot of peeps rooting you on!

A good doctor got me on the smoke-free path. For me, I had to be told that my body was on the verge of a meltdown. I had a choice, quite smoking, exercise and eat better or end up in the ER...hopefully still alive. I saw her twice a month for 4 months. Once a month for 4 months and then she cut me loose. My second visit with her she put me on medication both for blood pressure (150/90) and smoking cessation. My last visit with her ended up being one of the best days of my life. I no longer needed the BP medication. The Chantix had worked well in getting me to quit and I was healthier than I had been in years. I dodged a BIG bullet and I know it. That was almost two years ago

I keep a copy of that bullet as a reminder...good luck!! You can do it!!

Thank you for sharing. I guess with all the folks that share it is wonderful and your story strikes me as it matches my reasons and story. Your blood pressure is low compared to mine! I desire to bring it down, have it stay down and lower the BP meds (I don't know if I will ever get off). I go back to the doctors in 2 weeks. I don't think Chantix will be a choice for me but hopefully some other options will be.
