I just read an article on MSN about how universities are suing students (former graduates) for not being able to pay on their student loans (FAFSA, Perkins, et al). Yeah. I saw this coming the year I got out of school after earning my bachelors degree (the first wave of the US-wide economic recession which really, by now, should be classified as an economic depression - if you ask me). Thinking I could live on borrowed time, I sought a master's degree and still face the same harrowing odds trying to find a job, that is not only worthwhile to me and others I may serve, but will help me pay off a triple figure in loan debt and have some spare money to live on. To date, I'm still *under-employed* and would certainly NOT be here (online or elsewhere) if my young son did not live at home with me to help share the ecomonic burden I face on a daily basis.

I went for my one week follow up for my eye surgery today. Everything HAS been fine and good. The evil assistant did my exam, (this is the same one that just about ripped my face off when she removed the bandages for the FIRST surgery) tested my vision (20/20!) and said everything looked good. The doctor said the same thing. I told him I had LESS discomfort with this eye, despite the blood puddle on the sclera. Within an HOUR I had hideous pain in that eye! And I'm having to wear sunglasses just to watch T.V. or use the computer. I swear it was that evil assitant's doing. I just know it..... :fastdraq:

I got a bit uncomfortable about 10 minutes into the conversation, when he asked me repeatedly if I had a boyfriend and what I did for 'excitement.' I answered 'no' to the first question and 'writing' to the second query several times; finally he came right out and asked me for a date. I was a bit shocked as he had to be at least 35-40 years my senior, but I simply said, "Sorry, I date women."

"What?" The apparently hard of hearing gentleman asked.

"I DATE WOMEN!" I repeated, reddening as I realized that I had just informed the entire car dealership of my sexual orientation.

Without missing a beat he asks, "Have you ever been with a man? Have you ever had the experience?"

Like he could convert me or something. It kind of scares me that this guy was still driving....

Our apartment complex is replacing all the windows, cool. Told us our building was scheduled for the 16th and 17th, no big deal. Got a notice on our door yesterday afternoon that they are doing it TODAY! Less than 24 hr notice, had to move all the shit away from the windows, round up the animals and put them in a room with no windows. Well that is the bathrooms and closets assholes! Had to arrange to get the day off work, my boss aint too damn happy. It's going to be 95 today with 60 % humidity...... all the windows out, no A/C, LOVELY!

A very rude cashier this morning at the grocery store. He was checking someone out at the line and then walked around and said " the next person in line go to line 1, then when the gentleman in front of me and myself didn't move as there was someone else in front of us he states very loudly, what are
you just gonna stand there and stare at me looking stupid or what?" I then stopped and shook my head in disbelief. SO as the guy and myself moved over to the other line I asked the new friendly cashier if that guy was always that rude, she just apologized and gave me their website so I could place a review. I couldn't shake his rudeness, so as I was leaving I said to him " You may want to refresh your attitude, because you were very rude to your customers and that would be a sure way to run customers off and lose your job." I ended it with I hope you have a nice day. Made me feel good to walk away and be thanked by the customers who heard him.

Gee.. Are you sure you did'nt bury it alive?:( The other day, I got pissed at a black ant that was crawling on my leg, and slapped it, then wiped it off. I saw it was curled up real dead, but felt bad. Sooo.. I got down on the ground, and very gently petted it, and prayed with all my might to heal it. I kept breathing the word Heal on it, and slowly.. it uncurled, then it struggled to raise it's little head, then.. it slowly put one front leg out, and then the other front leg, then one back leg out, and then the other, until lo.. it was finially able to stand up, and then it walked away! :)

There were a few "Stop all immigration except for our kind of people" comments, too.

England (where the story in the article took place) is a terrific polyglot of cultures and faiths. In fact, the British Isles' history is of settlement by waves of people from somewhere else, peacefully or otherwise. I think it's safe to say that the commenters aren't indigenous peoples from the area.

My first knee scope was 15 , then two scopes and a reconstruction at 16 , a reconstruction which failed and a knee replacement at 17 years old . Really good Monday until late afternoon I phoned to get a haircut appointment. The lady who answered was so annoying, I had to take a couple of deep breaths to keep from going off on her. She was talking so fast, putting words in my mouth, I had no time to answer anything. A little incident after work ...

Sometimes after work, I go cruise the nearby industrial park on my way home. I enjoy my woodworking hobby a great deal and always find nice pieces of wood over there behind businesses. You would not believe what they throw out. Perfectly good 2 x 4's , other miscellaneous boards in great condition. The owners of a dozen or so places have all told me to take all of it. They are happy for me to come by. It saves them from having to pay to dispose of it.

IouAnyway, I was loading a couple of pieces on my truck. Suddenly 4 men charged out on a dock beside where I was. I was friendly, said hello, told them my name and asked how they were doing. Then I said the guy next door to them had told me to help myself to all the wood I wanted. That is when Mr. Hateful Intimindator demanded for me to tell him the name of the guy who said I could have the wood. Of course I did not know that man's name and told him I didn't.


This guy acted so ugly and since I do not intimidate well, I started working more slowly, measuring and examining each piece closely. I did this because I knew he wanted to frighten me into leaving so he could have his boys see that he really "showed me." He kept it up, trying to act the tough guy, said he was looking after his friend. I said since they were friends, to call the man at home and verify what I said. But he just wanted to continue to pick a fight. I finally said, "Look pal, call the police now and I will wait right here until they arrive. No, he did not want to do that. He decided he wanted to get my plate numbers on my truck. I said, here, I will turn the lights on so you won't have to go in for a flashlight. And I did. Then I told him my name again so he could write it down. He then told me I was acting guilty. That is when I started laughing at him - ask him if he had sought treatment for his paranoid delusions. I said the most assy things I could think of in a joking way. He went inside and I finished tying the wood down. Then, I had to go back one last time for seek out and annoy purposes - I honestly was unable to help myself. I stood at the bottom of his dock and yelled in really loud, "Hey, Buddy, can I ask you something?" He and his boys came around a shelving unit. I told him I had been feeding stray cats behind here and did he mind. He said not at all and take them all home with me. I thanked him and left. Later, when I got home, I called the non violent police number and talked to a woman cop. I gave her my name, described the incident and asked her if there was anything I needed to do regarding the situation. She said no, there was not anything to worry about, that the guy was just bullying me.

CNN) -- Finley Boyle, a 3-year-old Hawaiian girl who suffered massive brain damage after undergoing a dental procedure last month, died Friday night, her family's lawyer said Saturday.

Her parents are suing a Kailua, Hawaii, dentist, alleging negligence and dangerous conduct.

The lawsuit, filed against Lilly Geyer and her practice, Island Dentistry for Children, alleges improper medications with incorrect dosages were administered to the girl on December 3, according to court documents filed this week.

"As a direct and proximate result of the medications administered to (Finley) by defendants, (Finley) suffered cardiac arrest during her dental procedure," the lawsuit says.

It alleges that, as a further result of improper medications, Finley "suffered severe and permanent brain damage."

Geyer and her attorney, John Nishimoto, did not respond to CNN's requests for comment. The Island Dentistry website states it has been permanently closed and directs patients to an e-mail address.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in Hawaii's First Circuit Court, alleges that Geyer had no plan in place to respond to medical emergencies, such as the one Finley suffered. It seeks unspecified damages.

Finley's mother, Ashley Boyle, said she first took her daughter to the dentist in November, when she was told her daughter needed six fillings and four root canals, she said.

They returned in December to undergo the root canals, Boyle said.

The parents allege that Finley was sedated and left unmonitored for 26 minutes.

Finley was moved from a hospital to a hospice in late December.

Finley's pediatric neurologist, Dr. Gregory Yen, said MRIs showed the girl suffered severe brain damage and that she was in a "persistent vegetative state."

Each of these songs I have been in love with from one time to another. The CD was made in 2008, a year in which I was with my ex. 6 years later? This CD appears. Also she lives 4 hours away. And HOW did she get into my car!!!! This! Pissed me off today!!

Kobi has her feathers ruffled by wild turkeys and I'm stuck with mean azz guinea bird flogging my chickens. A couple months ago I had "rescued" him from certain death running around wild (his buddy had been killed by some predator) ...so the knucklehead pays me back by flogging my chickens when a neighbors flock of other guineas got loose. He started RAISING HELL ...this isn't the first time. my neighbors said he isn't theirs ...so this time it was so bad he really pissed.me off....HE HAD TO GO....so in my sweat pants, tshirt and farm boots...I climb in the chicken hutch armed only with a bath towels...of course tge chickens decided to fly up in my face and flog my legs...while I'm in there chasing birds, it starts to POUR DOWN !! ... much cussing and flogging later, I put towel over guinea and declare GOT YOU BEAST!! ...then the fun part of climbing out through the small rigged door without him tearing me up...PLOP him into a dog crate for safe keeping and in the garden shed...

sent a text to my roomie (after getting inside safe but SOAKED and muddy ) that crazy bird has 3 options ...get released to run wild and risk being killed by raccoon ...given to neighbors that's currently "in need" of a little help...or GET ROASTED ...
life on the farm!!

Even after the guinea pissed me off again this morning when I went to feed him....he survived my anger and has found a new home with my neighbor...I only hope my neighbor found the crate on his porch before it got too cold out :| I knocked but he didn't answer... My coffeemaker broke. :| I am a coffee addict. I have had this particular maker for a gazillion years.

So I dug the back up out of the closet. The back up was a gift from my brother. He asked what I wanted for Xmas one year. I told him, right down to the model number and color.

Did he buy what I requested? Seriously, he's man. He bought what HE thought I should have/want. (Just an aside, that's sexism.)

So, I unpack this monstrosity of a coffeemaker in black not white as I asked. There are so many buttons and holes and lights that blink at me, I actually had to look at the directions.....look is not the same as read.

I'm sure if I actually read the instructions, I could be having a grilled ham, egg, and cheese croissant delivered to me in bed along with the coffee in the morning.

I made 3 pots of coffee milk before I went on Amazon and ordered a couple of the coffeemakers I actually wanted.

Ugh, so I'm a member of a norwegian site for lgbt people and it is just overrun with men and couples looking for threesomes. Its so annoying. An ex employee, who quit 4 months ago, just filed for unemployment and it was granted. Meanwhile, she owns her own business (under a differnt name) (and let's not forget she actively took my clients' personal contact information with her to try and build her business) (unethical much) Previous to quitting, she refused a full time position because she would no longer qualify for free housing and food stamps. Oh, she's also going back to school for nursing, for free.

I came home from work...and of course the roommate and the couch surfer were there, and there was an extra someone also...

So, I walked in the door after saying hello to all of them outside. On the kitchen table, plain as day, are things written on construction paper. They are apparently about my dog.

One said, " I smell bad and my favorite place to sleep is on your pillow."

I was just really taken aback by the energy that they put into just being mean. It has become apparent that they don't like Jacques...and it's also apparent that I do not like them. So I have an appointment on Monday to hopefully procure more suitable housing. Fingers crossed....

I feel your pain. I took last Monday and Tuesday off, just for me. On Monday, I was awoken by the guy with the loudest Harley in the complex, who has decided that next to my bedroom window is the best place to park his bike. Local police and the FBI are currently searching for a local 2 y/o that's been missing since July. His mother has been arrested and is facing charges because she's giving inconsistent statements regarding his whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
