Happiness is....when I went to my Salon, the owner came over to me and in a tender, sweet way, told me that she needed my phone number because the last time I was in, another lady anonymously paid for a Massage Therapy treatment for me and that she needed to give my number to the therapist to schedule ...I was shocked nearly to tears. ...I later told my roommate that I don't recall ANYONE but me being there last time and I suspected my roommate had paid for it today when I walked next door before walking into the Salon...their response was "how could I have paid when you saw that their debit card machine was broke today??"....

I've pondered this for many years. For me it's when love humbles you. When loving someone changes your life for the better. When simply being grateful for that person every day makes life easier because you know that no matter what happens, somehow nothing could be that bad. You will hear their voice, see them and laugh with them. And that's all it takes. You realize no matter what you don't have, you have all you need. It's when you see the sky fall and you're still happy, in the most peaceful way.

I've learned that it can be more than fleeting moments ... it can last.

"People around the world are becoming more angry, stressed and worried, according to a new global survey.

"Of some 150,000 people interviewed in over 140 countries, a third said they suffered stress, while at least one in five experienced sadness or anger.

"The annual Gallup Global Emotions Report asked people about their positive and negative experiences.

"The World Happiness Report, which compiles the rankings, is completely subjective. It asks people from every nation how happy they feel - there's no solid science to it.

Having super nice neighbors: I just love my new home and it's a reprieve from living in a terrible neighborhood for far too long. I'll miss them when I move again next year. I'll make up for it by inviting them over to my new place, one beautiful summer evening. But right now, it's so nice to have wonderful people as neighbors.

With adversity and traumatic events we hear about daily in the news, I know that happiness in my life, right now, is defined by the lack of chaos in my own personal life: I'm safe, I have access to food and water, and safe place to call home and to be warm and not exposed to life-altering weather tragedies.

My heart hurts for those who don't have that, but I do know I feel blessed to have some modicum of comfort and reprieve from life's daily stressors.

That's happiness, to me, tonight. Being safe, warm, well fed, and a safe place to fall asleep in my own little home.
