Coming into work after a nice and long break to find my manager is taking the day off. I have a good relationship with my manager but it's good not having her needing anything from me on my first day back in the groove.

Happiness is really looking forward to coming home, after being out running around doing things, knowing I have a beautiful, comfy, safe and secure home, with a warm overstuffed recliner to get into and put my sore leg up. :winky:
Happiness.....true and overwhelming happiness, is also having such a beautiful, sweet, warm, funny and loving wife to share a cool evening and a good show on a huge big screen tv in our big beautiful, comfy home. :awww:
I'm a very, very lucky and blessed fella. I have absolutely no complaints and every reason to be super thankful for so many wonderful blessings.

Having a little extra money in my monthly grocery budget to afford to buy Orange Juice and a half box of Oranges. Orange Juice and Oranges are fairly expensive, so when I have extra money to buy them -- it makes me feel happy and it helps me to feel healthy (like I'm doing something good for my body).

Happiness, for me, is the realization that I don't have to do it all. In fact, i don't really have to do most of it.
Here's a word to those who are dealing with the stress of homeschooling....RELAX
"... until isolation and distancing measures can be loosened, and schools safely accessed for all children, we need to ease the burden on parents. And the external drivers of much of this stress – workplaces and the education system – must do their part. Parents doing home-based work are struggling to produce at pre-pandemic levels, while parenting and teaching off the sides of their shared desks and often sharing a computer. The list of expectations, online curriculums, assignments and school-based meetings with multiple children of various ages can be a scheduling nightmare. This is especially challenging for parents of school-aged children under 10, preschoolers and children with special needs. For parents who are doing essential work outside the home, homeschooling takes on a whole other dimension.
School systems at all levels – starting from Ministries of Education – need to publicly reduce the assignment-driven pressure on both students and parents. Employers need to support parents in the short-term, re-examining expectations and ways of working, so these employees can return to work with their mental health intact. The longer we remain in a collective lockdown, the more of a toll it threatens to take on parents’ health.
Learning is lifelong, and a few months of incomplete schooling will have a negligible effect on most children. They will eventually learn their multiplication tables and the French word for “happiness.” When kids finally gather safely again in schools, each of them will be at a different place. And trained, compassionate, caring professionals will be there to help each one of them.
A parent’s job today is not to homeschool; it’s to stay connected. Kids who are emotionally secure will learn better. There are a lot of lessons in what we are going through together, and many of them are on the home front."
From a very sensible "Globe and Mail" opinion piece today.

This thread is so beautiful! It makes me happy just reading it.
Today, happiness is typing these words under a tree beneath the setting sun. I've been in workaholic mode these past few weeks, so it means a lot to take a few minutes to myself.
I'm really trying hard to work in a little "me time" every day, but it's tough! I hope everyone reading this was able to set aside some time for self-care today.

Having time to blow bubbles and watch them trail off in the air to see where they go (a lot of mine went way up into the sky).
It's a relaxing activity for both kids and adults, alike. :balloon:

I feel so safe and valued and adored and treasured by the way he cares for me. Which makes me care so deeply for him. He is my heart of hearts. My one and only true love.

My brother came in to see me after 4 months apart and we went to lunch. The second time I have been out of the apt building in over 4 months. First time to restaurant. Wonderful lunch. Went to the Halibut House and had fish and chips and a side of deep fried clams. Coffee. I had a very happy day which I have not had in a very long time. *S

Happiness...gotta love when it just happens. Went to dinner with my bestie last night and unbeknownst to us, we happened to crash a Wine and Blues festival!.the streets were blocked off, wonderful amazing blues, different food and wines. Added plus, all the fur babies that were there. I saw the most unusual dog. Half St Bernard and half standard Poodle. He was beautiful.
Happiness again..my bestie brought me back a box of See's candy from her California trip. Happiness/ heaven oh my!

I took my almost 10-year-old granddaughter to see the new production of the color purple. This movie is very significant in my family. My daughter and I used to watch it every year when she was little, starting around the age my granddaughter is. It is the movie that impacted my daughter, making her want to go to Africa (which she did, working in an orphanage with children, who were infected or affected by AIDS) and For naming her firstborn child Violet (as the color purple) but mostly though, it impacted her with awareness about familial and social violence and racism and how important it is for women to support one another.
After the movie, my granddaughter, and I went to a restaurant, and we discussed the movie. Some of it she was confused about, mostly because she’s 10 and doesn’t have the life experience. But I watched her little face as we talked, so focused on the topic, coming up with really interesting points herself. She processed the material, loved the story and Asked a lot a lot of questions.
The color purple is a tradition in our family, and I was so happy to introduce it to the next generation!

Happiness....when your traveling buddy arranges you to fly home in first class. That was a first for me. My little cubicle seat reclined all the way flat. That was the best 9 hour flight ever!!
I won't even complain about the connecting flight of 2.5 hours. Nope!
I was a very happy girl!
