Went to work today. It's a exciting to see all the new spring receipts start to arrive. I've been trying on all the new peep toe sandals! Our weather is getting colder here, and the shorts have been put out. I hear swimwear is next...I've seen it out in other stores already.

My current agenda is to get my energy and drive back. I had plenty this morning so I got a couple loads of laundry done and put away and the sheets are back on the bed, I scrubbed the kitchen sink and un/loaded the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen sponge before making my brunch. I've gone through my email and culled the crap and am now in search of food again but don't really have a focus for the rest of the day. Maybe I'll work on organizing my craft room some more. That should keep me busy and relatively out of trouble. For a while.

This morning I ran errands, went to the Verizon shop to get my phone upgrade, came home, cooked, clean, did laundry, and set up new phone.

Washed and dried two loads of laundry. Still need to do my sheets, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.
I put new candles in my glass votive candle holders. I melted down the old wax and made tin can torches for outside using corrugated cardboard rolled up tightly in a metal can, and then pouring the melted wax over it until the can was full. These work great for the outside patio, and you can even tape a metal windscreen to it if so desired. I keep a couple of small ones in my GO bag as well.
Spent half an hour cleaning wax that I accidentally dribbled into my water pot I was using to melt the can of wax in. :eyeroll:
Changed the sugar water in my water kefir hotel jar.
Shaved my beard off, because I decided to go back to just a 'stache and goatee for a while.
Now I am going to binge watch Lethal Weapon movies.

I'm headed to Albany this morning to lobby about a decrease in grant funding for our homeless action/housing for homeless women programs.
Then I'm going back to my office to reach out to a few refugees who are on my wait list for housing to see where they are.
Then I'm shuffling fast to make some rooms turn over that are opening up this week so I can get the women in who need safe housing the most.
Then I have a meeting with other county housing coordinators.
Then I'm going home and depending on my mood will either go work out or collapse.

It looks like my day will be about home maintenance!
I plan to clean and reorganize my screened patio, or lanai as some call it. I need to see about buying some screen and re-screening it, as screen tends to dry rot here, but that will have to wait for now.
Next I need to do a perimeter search of the outside of the house and get rid of any newly constructed wasp nests. It's probably a bit too early in the season for them to start hassling me, but I want to stay on top of it. Evil buggers!
Wash the mailbox! It's white and the chlorophyll from the grass makes it splotchy green.
Change hvac filter and clean out the drain line.
Vacuum out the lint trap in the dryer.
Check the fluids in my truck.

Con: That theory never works.
Pro: It's only a 15 minute drive away.

Pro: I got my tax returns back and have set aside 'play money' already.

I woke up with little Bella and I fed and walked her.
I made myself some coffee, and when Pete woke up, I made us a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, waffles, and vegan sausages.
I started grading an eight inch pile of Algebra I work from ninth graders using dull crayons, but of course I merely scratched the surface.
I met a friend at a community meal that welcomes everyone, those who are food insecure, and those who enjoy sharing delicious vegetarian friendly food.
I came home and watched Pete burn toast and make a peanut butter sandwich. She is in school, and she has too much homework to go gallivanting around town.
I started a load of laundry, and I made a large batch of Madhur Jaffrey's spicy onion relish, and now I'm procrastinating by making long posts here.

Dear Wife and I are flying home to Las Vegas today from Mother's funeral this past week. She passed away this last November, in Las Vegas, where we were taking care of her. We had her cremated in Vegas, then brought her back home, to Illinois, for burial. It was a nice, simple service, with my cousin Mark, who is a Presbyterian minister, officiating. Mom can now rest in peace beside my Grandma.
It will be so great to get home. We're flying out of St. Louis today, so thank Gawd we're missing the horrible snow storms that are rolling through the upper midwest!!!

one of my dearest friends is hosting a birthday party for her 4 year old grand daughter. I am taking my almost 3 year old grand daughter to it. Its held at a roller skating ring. Lord help me! She has been up on skates and loves it...this Buba (our term for beloved grandmother) cannot roller skate! I am hoping they will let me walk her around... I am feeling a bit scared. LOL
I also have to clean house before I go to the party.
And we have a young man who does alot of our physical chores we just cannot do, or dont have time to do. He is coming over and raking up all the left over leaves and dead stems out of my gardens today. Next weekend, we start tilling the soil in the annual beds to prepare for planting...

I scheduled in some self care this morning after waking up with a headache. Decided I will go in to work a little bit late today so I could just be slow with easing into the day and I feel all better for having made that choice.
I'll go in to work soon and I know it will be a very crazy day because it's been a very crazy week and it's Friday so all the last of the crazy needs to shake out.
Then I'm leaving work and have a rather long session scheduled to hopefully finish a tattoo I've been working on.
Then depending on the time I'll swing by a farewell party for a co-worker whose last day is today.

1) A 3-part challenge lab test with my shot-to-hell veins.
I have healthcare PTSD now and have to do relaxation techniques when I have blood draws.
2) Then, I sm having my new TV delivered from Costco. A week ago I was on my iPad, heard a loud popping like light bulbs popping (which led TV is I guess) the screen on my TV went black and it smelled like it was going to catch on fire.
I ran around unplugging everything
No fire but no TV.
I am happy to get the new one.
3) change sheets, vacuum and dust-not necessarily in that order.
Have a good day, I am going to be late. I have been dragging my feet.
Finish up the workday
Go home and clean, wash clothes, pay a few bills.... Then I'm ready for my "play" weekend.

I and my teenage sidekick had plans of doing yard work today. It was a great day, weather wise. A little overcast, slight chance of rain, but it made the air cool and the land shady and this is the kind of day I like to work in.
I was able to get one raised bed cleared out and tilled, and he got one front garden bed cleared of weeds and was going to start to mulch it when the skies opened up and down came the torrent of rain.
instead, we went inside and did some housework, and even put up a wall holder for mops and brooms and such

I want to get my car driveable! Yesterday I took it in and had the wheel bearings done. Drove it around, all was well until I went on the freeway..and the wheels started smoking
brought it back to the mechanic, who said the master cylinder was blown because the wheel bearings had gotten too hot. So it had to be changed..as well as the brake pads that were fried. (I was not charged for the pads)
god..when I break a car, I really break a car...
so when I pick it up, I have to drive it around to see if its finally fixed. Would be nice!! Lets hope I get this accomplished!

Dee,
In a new place I ask neighbors, coworkers, local folks, firemen, and policemen to recommend a good automotive repair shop. Some folks have good luck with yelp.
I agree with NavyButch for a fast brake job you can use a chain store also consider Brake Check. Be careful and don't let anyone take advantage of you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any automotive repair questions.

Work, mostly inside cleaning. Not happy about that. I would prefer working outside all day.
I have lawn mower repair this afternoon after I pickup parts.
I will mow today or tomorrow depending on the weather.
Gardening today
I have a craving for fresh fruit and veggies so a little grocery shopping is on the agenda.
Clean the house
Wash laundry
Relax tonight

This is my weekend to work. :jester: I'm baking some chicken for my spouse for her supper tonight, mashed potatoes, green beans. She warms it in microwave later and has a tray on her walker to carry it back to the bedroom to eat it in bed. We have one of those craftmatic adjustable beds to keep her more comfortable since she's in bed a lot.
I'm also doing laundry, tidying up and have to run to vet to pick up dog's seizure meds.:hangloose:

Accomplished everything on this list- except I did not make it to the pet store to get some more fish. (that was 1 of the 3 stores). But, I think I might do it tomorrow- or I just might chill and relax- which sounds like a good plan.

I was up and out early for a fundraiser 5k run/walk that was super cold and rainy. So... I did that - check.
That added an agenda item of getting home into warm dry clothes and flopping under a blanket for an hour.
Now time for errands. Later driving my kid around to and from work.
Intention is to add in some time under the blanket again with a book.

Washing and ironing! Packing! Listening to audiobooks and hippie music!
I also need to bust open the fridge and cook about 10 pounds of veggies I brought back from Atlanta. Fresh veggies are SO much cheaper there so I loaded up on asparagus, string beans, brussels sprouts, red peppers, and all the things I love. I'll be roasting and stir-frying until next week! LOL

I have accomplished both! I even got a brand new type of mani that is pretty awesome so far. I'm told that it will last longer than my gel so we'll see. It's better for the environment too.
I went and saw Despicable M3 today and it. was. soooo. cute.
It's just after 6pm and I still have time to work some other fun stuff in for the day, like our second Skype visit. Love those! That's definitely on my agenda.
It's lazy pj Sunday, so not planning on much.... lol clean the house, do some laundry, make a Sunday roast, attempt to assemble another cabinet, then enjoy a movie & some r & r.....

Tooled around in slow motion all day. Built part of a heavy duty frame using 4 x 4's. I will assemble the major pieces, then fasten them all together.
I think I may look into getting a rachet. Lifting heavy 4 x 4's above my head and situating them was a bit much in this humidity. I would look up to make sure I was hitting the slot I had already prepared but I could not see for the sweat rolling into my eyes. A lot of grunting and achy (spelling - achie???) shoulders going on with that particular task. Glad that part is finished!
Took dogs for several walks. Jeffrey (fairly new puppy) is becoming more and more mannerly on his leash. He sat in a shelter for the first four months of his life until I adopted him around mid-May. He finds everything to be so interesting to him - makes me laugh.
The bird block mesh I bought at Home Deport worked out well for my intended purpose. Will post a photo in the galleries.
Tomorrow....fresh from scratch pancakes at that diner...
Gem mining...again...tomorrow.
