Both my cats are my babies and were saved from bad situations.
Since I have had them, they have become quite happy and have created wonderful personalities.
Angel who will be 22 years old has begun collecting socks..lol She roams through the house speaking in a soft meow. And one by one brings in the socks and puts them in a pile. Then talks to them..lol
I think shes regressing and thinks they are her babies...IDK
But it is cute to watch.
Taquilla which is 5 in october is diffrently abled and very very lovable.
His talet is playing fetch.
You toss a bottle cap or rolled up piece of paper and he retrieves it and brings it to your feet.
This goes on untill you say enough usually.

While I was out .Someone shut my kitty in my bathroom because the fire alarm was malfunctioning and we had to have people in and out and they didn't want her getting outside. Whoever did this forgot to let her out so when I got back she had peed on my floor >> Someone is gonna get a chewing out.

My goofy cat has moved her daytime perch from the space between my dish strainer and the wall to my stove. She had never once taken an interest and now I constantly have to move her. I don't know what to do to keep her off of there but I'm burning through way too many cleaning wipes now that she's made that her roost. haha

When I had cats in the house we has a kitten names Wickett, she was as sweet as she could be,then for some reason she started peeing in my sons house shoes. No matter where he hid them she found them then peed away.Being James had just come hove from the sand trap as he called it,it being Saudi Arabia he had been dusting all his shoes with Dr,shoels foot powder wich really cranks the kittys watch. So I bought some diffrent powder and she quit,I wish we had figured it out sooner cause she ruined a couple of pain of dress uniform shoes along with it.

Apparently, Chessie doesn't have a hearing deficit as I suspected. No habla Ingles, habla Espaņol. :|
The kids are panicking. They do not like seeing the luggage. They have an unreasonable fear that they will be left without kibble, and pets. Luckily, their mother has planned for a house sitter, and no pet shall feel left behind, or the rumbly in the tumbly.

Every time I pack to go somewhere (we go away on weekends a lot in the summer), my dog follows the suitcase, wherever it goes in the house, until he is put in the car. He wants to make sure he is going with Daddy (he knows that sometimes he doesn't get to go...he does get to stay with Grandmom, though!).

Sadie officially learned to take a bow on cue today! She is way cute when she bows and she knows it too! lol It is super easy to teach because it is a play signal that dogs use to invite another dog or you to play, so the behavior can be captured and rewarded, then a cue is added once they have it down pat.
It looks like this when dog/cats do it:
http://dogtrainermontreal.com/wp-content/themes/purevision/scripts/timthumb.php?src=http://dogtrainermontreal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/dogtrick-bow.png&w=260&h=160&zc=1&q=90
Or like this when humans use it as a yoga move.http://i.ehow.com/images/a04/n7/88/pilates-modified-downward-dog-800x800.jpg
She learned another big thing today but it is in the realm of Service Dog training, and probably not a good fit for the pet thread, so I'll wait to share that in another thread so as not to deter this thread. I'd start a Service Dog training thread but thinking there is not much interest in that.

The KKs are pouty faces tonight. I worked out back until 9:00 p.m. tonight. Came in, prepared 2 large bowls of Science Diet - the crunchy dry type. They won't eat. I know why. Yesterday after work I stopped at the grocery store on the way home. They had 2 for 1 steak special. I got 2 two pound London Broil steaks, cooked them as soon as I walked in the door. Their "steak picnic" made them so happy. Not happy now.

My cat is in boarding. No choice since I don't have my own place at the moment and my ex's place isn't suitable for her. I hope she's ok and doesn't feel abandoned. :(
My employer put me in a King room at the hotel for the meeting. It's great but it feels strange not having the feline and the k9 taking up all the space.
Hi,
Well I caught a cold somewhere between Arkansas and home so my baby kitty has been following me around all day. I sit and she sits on me, I lay down and she lays on me, then I get on the computer and she sits next to the computer.
Does she think that I will kill over from a cold or what?

Baby was sharing with you. LOL! I bet she is a beautiful dog. I love bully dogs.
I have two mixed bullies. My male, Kevin, is a golden brendle bully/mastiff mix, 107 lbs. He loves to eat and does so with much gusto.
Sometime back, I made them some macaroni and cheese. Kevin gobbled his up in record-breaking time. I looked over at him and he had one noodle on top of his head. That was so funny. They are both characters.
Enjoyed your post about Baby.
See you!

Tonight after I fed Kelly and Kevin, I said last call to go to the bathroom. They both stood up on the bed, all charged up. I put my paper plate with my slice of pizza down on this little side table thing I built for myself. It is for when I eat meals in my bedroom. Anyway I got up, opened the back door and they ran out. I have been remodeling Fort KK Bully Pooch all weekend. (Made it much bigger and raised the roof so I can walk inside and not bump my head. Next, another window and looking into a sky light.)
Kevin always goes to the fort now, he is liking the expansion. He and I were in there and I realized Kelly is missing. This is not a good sign. She is incredibly sneaky and forever into something. Kevin and I came back inside. I found Kelly standing on the bed, leaning at a precarious angle, lips rolled up and had just sunk her teeth into the slice of pizza on the little table. I startled her. She backed away and pretended she had not been caught. Little pizza thief. I know her so well. She planned this when I asked them if they needed to go outside to the bathroom. I am certain of it!

I have'nt seen my wild Coyotegrrl in over two years until this morning. I met her during a cold winter when she was only a young and hungry pup. I talked to her, and trained her to eat beside the cats out of the same bowl, and come when called, and she even barked when strangers came, but she left again when it warmed up. I just saw her again this morning staring at me outside the house like a long lost pet. I called her name, and she looked at me like she remembered, and did'nt run! I just put a bowl of food out in the yard for my wild Coyotegrrl again..

Chessie and I just got back from the vet. His bottom was bleeding a little and I suspected an infected anal gland. Yep. He came home with pain meds, antibiotics, and some fortiflora. He shared some lovely scented air biscuits all the way home from the vet. http://fun.resplace.net/Emoticons/Sick/Sick1.gif
He has also gained 32 pounds. :| He went from 85 to 117 pounds. Good Dog, that is unacceptable. Apparently, the intestinal diet was incorrectly prescribed as the high energy type, instead of the low fat type.
When he goes for his followup appointment, the vet will be aspirating the tumor that is growing larger on his belly. I'm very nervous about the results of this. If it is bad news, it is bad. If it is good news, that means she is recommending surgical removal. I'm very uncomfortable with a dog of his age going under anesthesia. But I am hoping that is all I have to worry about.

Hollylane, how old is Chessie? My vet did several surgeries on my little Hannah the last 3 years of her life to remove mammary gland tumors. Hannah lived to be 16 1/2 years old. Her very last surgery was at 16 years old. I think she would have made it a couple or so more years had she not developed excruciating pain in her back. I would not put her through back surgery and recovery at her age. I had to help her out and did the kindest thing I could do for her. Since Hannah's body was wearing out, in my vet's office, we gently sent her away from the pain.
I feel like you already know about this but want to mention it anyway. My vet used a special type anesthesia which is made for the geriatrics - of course more expensive but much safer.
I am wishing the very best for Chessie. And you too. I am sure you are upset and stressing about your furry- friend. Keep us posted on how he is doing.

Thank you for your well wishes for our Chessie. He is a 9 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Gaige and I were talking about being very careful about feeling out the anesthesia options available for him. Personally, I didn't know there was an anesthesia developed specifically for geriatric dogs. Thank you for the information, I'll be sure to ask about that at his next appointment.
Sorry about your pooch, even when it's the right decision, it is so hard to make.

I make Blossom and Rosie's food homemade and it is frozen or refrigerated. So, every evening I warm it up a bit in the microwave. I ordered little green
bowls that degrade properly. Plus I could get 600 of them for a reasonable price.
Well Rosie is right on that..every night after she eats her dinner she chews up the bowl and leaves little pieces everywhere except for the pieces she swallows.

Okay, Chessie had his follow up appointment today. The bum is fully healed, yay! The aspirated tumor is a lipoma, and is non-cancerous, YAY!!!!!! I will be scheduling him for the big scary surgery within the next few weeks, because it has grown from 3 centimeters to 9 centimeters in just the past 4 months. It is time for that thing to go!
Hi,
My baby kitty has an obsession with bacon so this morning I am cooking some bacon in the oven and she is following me all around the kitchen screaming at me as if she has not eaten in a week.
Yes, I give her about a half of a piece of bacon when I make it and she goes nuts for it.
I am sure the veterinarian would scold me for that but it makes her so happy how can I refuse her.

(Watching thursdays episode of Greys Anatomy at this time)Well it wasn't today, but last Friday I was sitting on my couch playing fetch with my pup across the room with her rope toy. I'd throw it, she runs like crazy to get it, brings it right back and tries to put it in my hand and then pull away when I go for it. (So cute when she does this) I had previously tried a couple times to teach her to sit and STAY until I say go get it! Which has NEVER been anywhere near successful. But that day I figured I'd try again. So I get her toy from her and hold it up, she sits right down and lays down for it immediately, as always. Then the fun part, I tell her to stay. She cocks her head at me like hmm... So I fake throw it and she gets up and runs like mad. I go "Hey! Stay..." And show her the toy. Back at my feet she lays. I fake throw again. Same thing. Then back at my feet. Next time I fake throw she gets up and looks at me. But doesn't go. Down she lays. At this point I said "Good Girl" So now goes the real throw. She gets up, runs a couple feet. I say "Hey! Stay.." And she stops, looks at me, lets out a big grumble and lays down. You can't help but laugh here. So I go get her toy. She follows me back to the couch. Lays at my feet. I look at her and say Stay! 3 times. I throw the toy. And she doesn't flinch. I look at her and say stay... Sat there for about 30 seconds and then "Go get it!!" And she runs and brings it back! Here comes the love and scratches and a treat of course! All week we've been playin and she's perfect every time! (Back to Greys Anatomy) About 10 minutes later she's busy playing in the corner with her toy, and myself, a sometimes overly emotional person, crying like a baby over the episode of Greys Anatomy on the couch. Immediately she drops her toy, runs over to me and flops her head down on my lap looking at me with those incredibly cute puppy eyes. You could see the worry and love in her. This made me cry even more because my reason for getting her was my dad is ill and I was feeling pretty down and thought maybe a puppy would bring joy to all of us. At that moment I thought about how fun it has been to play with her and train her and teach her new tricks, and how proud I was when she learned them such as that one I had tried over and over and she just learned 10 minutes prior. I knew through all these crazy puppy stages :| and vet bills :| and everything we've been through in the last 10 months that this was exactly what I needed and wanted at this time in my life. Everyone thought this was a bit hectic of a time for me to get a Puppy but I know we are a perfect match and have made each others lives so enjoyable. #Proud/Happy Mama ;)

Since I got home after a long day out, my pup has misbehaved several times...resulting in me having to fuss at him because he's sooooo smart, I KNOW he knows better than breaking certain rules...
A few minutes ago, I sat back in the recliner, lounging on my left side with my legs folded over the chair arm...
My bad, rotten pup (who had just got in trouble) sat on the floor "asking permission" to jump up...when I allowed him up, I looked down at him and said "you better give me a hug!"....
He very promptly, very sweetly and gently laid the side of his face and shoulder on my chest and looked up at me...as if to say "I'm sorry momma, I won't pick on my brother anymore."...
He just melted my heart!!...it wasn't long ago that I taught him the "give me a hug" trick...he doesn't always do it, but tonight was the sweetest hug yet! ...I wish I would have taught him that years ago when he was a therapy dog.
He's too damn adorable and loves to get hugs as much as I love to hug him. He's always been a fluffy, very loving cuddle bug.

My rotten pup is up to his bad antics again...
I had been cuddling with him on one recliner...got up to get something, went back to livingroom to find that he had stolen my fluffy bathrobe from the other recliner, pulled it to the big recliner, and was "fluffing it" to make himself a nest.
I was not happy (he needs a bath!!) but the look on his face was priceless!

Tonight, sassy started at 6pm, and when Kasey didn't come out she came to me and crawled onto my lap for a snuggle and to complain...because no one told her about the time change!

My mother sent us a care package...
A warm, fuzzy blanket from our favorite local (in Massachusetts) blanket company www.berkshireblanket.com which has an outlet one town over from my hometown!
and a smaller remnant type blanket for Jacques...which she rubbed all over her own two dogs (one of which is Jacques' daughter).
Jacques was sniffing the box before I even got it open lol and he snuffed at the blanket sooo long. I'm guessing he's remembering his daughter and his pitbull friend <3
Kitten little did not get a present, except that she can share the blanket with Jacques when they cuddle. However, the box that all the stuff came in is keeping the kitten happy for hours...she is taking all her little toys (mostly balls of paper!) into her "lair" and...well...killing them I guess? lol
It's been great fun to watch all the merriment :)

I was at work all day, but this is what Bandit did all day:
1. Climbed all over Corkey in bed.
2. Climbed under the covers with Corkey.
3. Pestered Corkey till he got up and fed her.
3. Looked out the windows.
4. Pestered Corkey to let her out on the porch only to come right back in due to cold.
5. Took a nap.
6. Slept on Corkey once he was up
7 Played with the christmas tree so Corkey would play with her
a. bat a tree
b. look at Corkey to see if he is looking
c. if he is not looking keep doing it until he does look
8 Played with outlet so Corkey would play with her
a, b, c see above
9 Played with curtains so Corkey would play with her
abc see above
10 scratched at Corkeys pants so he would put a blanket on his lap so she can sleep under it between his feet
11 ate
12 used the cat box
13 Slept on Corkey
14 Rinse and repeat 4 or 5 times a day
Contrast this with me
I get up and pet the cat
I make tea
I don't feed the cat if there is food in her bowl
I sit in my chair
Bandit sleeps in Corkey's chair
Occasionally I pet the cat
I get up for something, Bandit gets up and follows me
I finish what I am doing and sit back down
Bandit goes back to sleep in Corkey's chair
Bandit has one of us very well trained!!!

EARLY this morning...
I heard kitten little scratching. I thought she was in the cat box. But she just wouldn't stop! I shushed her and tried to get her to come back to bed. The noise continued.
I finally turned on the light and she had her lil baby paws in the (empty) water dish and was just digging and digging like a raccoon! She was born outside, so I don't know if she thought she could dig and make the water appear?
I filled it nice and full for her and she was appeased. I never have seen a cat who loves her water that much....

The heart part came out nice and tender and cut it into pieces and the gizzards I could really only give to Jacques since they were...fleshier...I made a nice gravy and poured it over some leftover rice and put some nice pieces in for the tomcat I feed. Lola had her fair share and Jacques had a ton too. Full bellies all around :)

Jennifer knows it is wrong but she is like me in that I don't think she can help herself. She is a year old so I imagine it will be another year for this to cease ...
Recently a friend and I were talking in a restaurant. We've been friends since the 1980s. The friend asked me about Jennifer. I told her Jennifer keeps a knot on her head or a cut on her face or head all the time because she is constantly the busy one and gets banged up a lot. My friend laughed and said, "No doubt she is your child." (say whaaaa?)

I was told by my vet not to feed my pets liver. The liver effectively functions as a filter for the body. It breaks downs toxins and disease in it's cells. Therefore, anything that animal had been exposed to right before its death would be in the liver tissue and thus expose your pet to whatever remnants lie within...
This is also why I won't eat liver myself...that and the taste...and the texture...lol
But I do appreciate the thought! :)

Daniela,
I love love love that name Jennifer - always have! I knew my next female dog would be named Jennifer years ago.
Also, since I am using the name Jennifer already ... when it is time to adopt another female dog, her name will be Allison. Great sounding name, I love it too!
Back early Fall, I worked really hard with lots of other peeps to save a dog's life in a HIGH KILL SHELTER. I mean it took the whole village working hard to get this dog out alive. The dog's name was Avery. I gave Jennifer the middle name Avery in honor of this dog named Avery that we saved and helped into a loving home. "Jennifer Avery" ... I like it!!! *butch giggle*
Something funny ...
it was getting very very close for Avery. She had been on the daily kill list twice and we'd up our pledges, just start again throwing wads of money into her pledge bucket ... hoping a rescue would pull her. With pledges rising, this shelter would not kill her that day and would put her back on the urgent list with no kill date specified. I had tried to adopt her in the beginning but I was told I could not because I lived over 1000 miles from the kill shelter. They won't adopt out that far away. I had pledged close to $300.00. Anyway, I knew they were going to kill her very soon. Avery's time had just about run out. I learned decades ago money talks. I was working an "under the table" deal to adopt her, everything was in place, already had the transport get-away car lined up to bring her to me. It was going to be a "GO" the next morning. Someone adopted her out from under me that afternoon. I did not care. I only wanted the pooch to leave walking out of the shelter with 4 paws on the ground and not in a garbage bag. I feel like she got an awesome home. The adopter posted pictures of her with them in her new home. Seeing the photos made all of us so happy.
... and so .... we all lived happily ever after.
Heh Heh! :)

Well Penny is going through a hump the couch or couch pillows faze. She's 17 months old and has been fixed for over a year but the last 2 months or so her humping habit has gotten a bit worse. We try to keep her busy but she seems to not be able to control it. The only thing that I can say I don't mind is she's not humping humans or other dogs so at least it's not embarrassing in front of guests or dogs at the dog park. I am hoping that she can control herself before I have to buy a new couch.

Tiny dog _insisted_ she wanted some of the human food in my hand - so I gave her a sliver of raw carrot. She sniffed it, and then very carefully, so as not to get her tongue or lips on it, took the very edge of it with her teeth and carefully put it on the floor. Then she looked at me like it was my fault she didn't like it.
Tiny dog soon again _insisted_ she wanted a sliver of raw potato. She finally left it on the floor with a few tooth holes in it.

Then on the weekends whenever she pleases. We did the hugs, then I got into the shower. She usually likes to peek her head in the curtain and watch the water swirl. Today, she decided to wander in but before she could her brother jumped past her! So he got the first shower. We've had melty snow so they have dirty paws and wanted to be clean. One by one they got showers then a cookie. It made me feel special because they have never showered with me, only star.

I did what anyone would do and pulled them apart and told T-bear I would come back for him. I walked Dax separately, in the interim my friend's roommate returned and I told her what happened so she said she would walk the pup. As we were outside they showed up and Dax wagged his tail and walked up to T-bear to say hello....this after his friend just literally went for his neck. If only humans could be so forgiving, Dax realizes T-bear is having a bad day, maybe missing his Mom and chooses to remember all the other good times they have had. I'm very proud of my little man and he certainly got an extra treat today.

My sister brought her dogs over today. We hung out for a few hours with all six dogs (she has 4). My puppy was all over her puppy (they are a month apart) he was obsessed over her though even tho she like 55 pounds lighter then him. Lol
When they left he whined and kept looking outside the window and around the house for them. I think it was 30 mins before he calmed down.

Within the hour that I have been home, the pets have been rather entertaining. I walked the pup and he did his business, but he had apparently eaten a piece of hair. What ensued was him becoming scared and running in circles trying to get the dangly that was following him. It was a rather tetherball-esque scene.
Then the pup snubbed his food which is normal until he gives up whining and realizes he is not going to get a boiled egg. The kitty ate his food and then decided he would try to eat the dog food, too. Now the pup is whining and the cat is banging the cabinet door in the bathroom.
They better be glad they are cute and soft.

We were feeding our rescue dog soft food. Today, we switched our rescue dog's reaction to eating hard food -- he took a bite of it and spit it out, and looked at us all hurt.
Our first pup is laying on the couch curled up at my feed fast asleep...I keep peeking down at her from over my computer and seeing her there puts the biggest grin on my face. She's my baby, and she just..'gets' me.

Kitty Diva had fun with catnip today. This basically means she played with her catnip mouse for about half a minute, and then rolled around in a pile of catnip I had put on the floor. Then she laid on her back and stared at the ceiling all starry-eyed. She has now moved to my bed for serious napping, where she has incidentally strewn dried catnip all around, and which I will be trying to brush off the sheets for half the night.
Tiny Dog met a new neighbor, and gave him a very small warning growl. She followed this with silent permission to pass our yard safely, although under close observation. (The neighbor wisely kept a respectful distance.)

Tiny Dog contributed some of her shed fur to the nest-making projects of all the birds in the yard. She does not usually care for being brushed, but she tolerated the Zoom Groom fairly well today. So far, she is shedding just on the tops of her legs.
Kitty Diva, who is 12 years old, has started mewing like a little kitten when she wants to be fed. I do not understand why. In the past, some regular, loud cat meows were adequate, and I understood perfectly well what I was supposed to do: put food in her bowl. However, now she is making these tiny, high "mew mew mew" sounds. It's kind of cute, but I'm a bit worried that I'm missing the point of whatever nuanced kitty message she is trying to send me.
Currently the Whippet Phoebe is hanging around my neck like she is giving me a hug while Gracie sits on the other couch and the little kitty Piper is rolling around on the floor

I am very familiar with these cat messages. I think it's an attempt at mind control. They distract you with the incessant meowing; while your brain is otherwise engaged, they're mucking around in there and trying to program your behavior.
:cheesy:
My cat started making those pitiful sounding "mew mew mew" sounds in the last year. I think she just wants attention, but there are times when I want to tear my hair out because she just won't stop. She likes to run to the opposite end of the apartment, as far away as she can get, and then start mewing like she's been abandoned. It's really annoying. Good luck with your cat! If you find the answer to this problem, let me know. :D

What did they do today, I think they ate and slept. My daughter and her boyfriend have set up a fish tank at home. they had to go out of town for an emergency in his family. I wasn't paying attention while walking the pup and looked down to see him cluelessly standing in an ant mound taking a whiz. I could see them all over his little feet and legs and tried to swat them off as best as I could. Luckily we weren't far from home, so I was able to get him rinsed off quickly. He is so furry, it is hard to tell how good they got him. I know he probably got bitten quite a few times, because I have a few bites myself. Gave him some benadryl and keeping an eye on him. After I came back from taking a shower, Jacques was acting strange...
I have an old apple crate laying on its side by my bed; it serves as my nightstand. I keep reading material in the cubby..Jacques was pacing then walked over to the crate and climbed into the cubby. He layed there a while and put his head down. When I sat on the bed, he came out and sat with me but still seemed out of sorts. I offered to let him go under the covers so he cpuld "den" some more and he went eagerly and remains there 10 min later.
I don't know what couldve scared him in the short time I was in the shower. He DID used to like to den under the couch at my moms...maybe he would like a small crate to accomadate this need...
Other than that, we went to an abandoned people park today and swung on the swing(he really seems to love this...oddly enough) and he got to play in the small brook there. He was also introduced to a nice Australian shepherd and we were invited by her trainer to come to his business for a people/dog social that they have every so often..
In other pet news, my morning client was going to toss about 3lbs of liver that she didn't like and I grabbed it. I found recipers at www.dogtreatkitchen.com for liver treats and will probably dehydrate at least 1/3 of it for him.

Tiny Dog's big accomplishment for the day was getting the last two french fries at dinner. She managed this simply by looking cute.
Kitty Diva went all rebellious today. When I scootched her bottom, trying to get her off the bed, instead of complying she decided to slap at my hand and try to bite me. I went all "claw hand" back at her and hissed. Her ears laid back flat and she slapped at me again! I must have interrupted a really good dream. (She won, BTW.)

Kitty Diva invented a new game, "Queen of the Mountain". She climbed to the top of the pile of laundry on the couch. (The same couch where Tiny Dog usually snuggles up to watch TV with me.) Kitty Diva hid herself among the camouflaging white washcloths, and when Tiny Dog hopped on the couch, Whap! went Kitty Diva's paw across Tiny Dog's nose.
Tiny Dog hopped right off the couch without even stopping, and looked at me all sad-eyed. I yelled at Kitty Diva, but she ignored me from under the pile of laundry because, of course, I could not see her.
Tiny Dog got extra treats and is sleeping on the floor next to me now.

Big thunderstorm outside, so I have Kitty Diva on the bed, Tiny Dog lying on the floor next to the bed, and I'm huddled under the covers. I'm listening to the radio, searching the dial for weather reports, and "Straight On For You" by Heart comes on. This is a song I _must_ sing along to, even though it is quite out of my range. So I'm warbling along, and I look over the edge of the bed to check on Tiny Dog. She's curled up in a tight little ball with her paws over her ears, just like a cartoon dog. Oh come on, I didn't think I was that bad! So I quit trying to belt it out along with Ann Wilson, and Tiny Dog cautiously uncurls herself, hesitates, then finally stretches out next to the bed again.

Setting the scene...Willy has been wearing a cone for a few weeks to keep him from chewing, Joey doesn't know he is a cat. Sometime he thinks he is a dog and sometime he thinks he is a chicken.
I let Willy out with me without his cone on when I went out to feed the goats and shut the chickens up for the night.
As I walked out to the chicken pen, Willy got ahead of me and started walking down the side of the driveway. I'm thinking where does he think he's going? He skips off to the grass beside the chicken pen.
There was still a few chickens out of the pen. Joey follows me out there, and as I start herding the chickens toward the door, Joey stands in the door way. REMEMBER he is not a chicken and they know it but he doesn't. As the chickens get to the doorway and see him they divert around the door. I scolded Joey and he came out of the doorway but still wanted to linger around down there so I kicked some driveway gravel toward him and he ran back to the house.
In the mean time, the chickens were making their way around the door and around the corner of the pen. Here comes my HERO! Willy is walking up the fence line and meets them at the corner LOL. OMG I'm cracking up now. When they see him they do an about face, clucking and cackling about their way right threw the door and inside the pen. He didn't know he had done anything special but I sure appreciated him being there to help me round up the chickens.

My cat Lulu is a foundling. I've had her for about 4 years. She obviously belonged to someone else at some point because she's been declawed. (a barbaric practice of which I am most certainly not an advocate) She frequently likes to "claw" at my leg (which might be why she was declawed), but because she has no nails, it just tickles. Today was total ticklepalooza. She would not leave me alone. I'm standing in the kitchen making breakfast, she's tickling my calf. I'm working at my desk, she's tickling whatever part of me she can reach through the slats on my old school wooden chair. I finally had to rather sternly shoo her away so I could get any work done. I don't think anything is amiss with her, so I've no idea what that was all about.

I love petsitting and housesitting for this family (dear friends)...
The pups are my adopted luvbugs....one looks like a half grown Black Bear who loves to lounge on the covered porch and "alert" when there's deer or squirrels in his yard...today I thought someone was knocking at the door, but it was this sweet giant bear laying on his back with his "happy tail" hitting the screen door. ....
My friend is a plumber by trade and had left their muddy bluejeans on the porch before leaving for vacation....so tonight I figured I'd try to wash them...but they were CAKED in dried, orange clay mud...I pick up the first pair and start thrashing them against the brick wall...this made big ol' bear start dancing, barking and running circles. Suddenly he grabbed the jeans from me, ran down the steps, down the walk past garage and under the truck. :| There I found his "happy tail" sticking out with the jeans under the beast! Laughing the whole time, I'm thinking....
Now....how do you get a "prize" away from a BEAR?....you bait him with a piece of ham and make a trade.

My cat (I think I've decided on Molly for a name) was sitting on my chest so I went on youtube to see if they had videos to amuse cats...
BUT OF COURSE THEY DID!
So I put one on for her. At first I was like...yeah right...then in just a few seconds she was watching attentively! At one point when a bird flew off screen she about jumped to get it! Lol...
Then she climbed on my keyboard and realized she couldn't hunt the birds...she got rather peeved and left...lol

Our nearly 10 year old orange tabbyboy, Henry, has been having asthma attacks since around 3 this morning.
I think I may finally have it under control, thanks to some Prednisolone (steroid), a Singulair pill and an Albuterol inhaler.
Poor ol' boy.

I'm thinking. . Even in kitty land, the international BIRD sign still stands true in human land. ..
I was trying to give the Son a shot. and he raised his paw in defiance. still means the same thing even with paw prints right?

My favorite cat, Petunia, absolutely loves Simon (he's a dog), but cannot stand Toffee (she's a year old sheep herding dog).
So when Toffee tries to get snuggly with Petunia, Petunia will hiss and claw at Toffee, which makes Toffee jealous because Petunia loves Simon, not Toffee.
So when the three of them cause a commotion over who gets to snuggle with each other, I break it up by wandering out to the kitchen to slice up some cheese.
I give the cheese to the dogs and for Petunia, I give her the peanut-butter chocolate dog nip treats, lol.
So far, it works every time.
My cats are taking turns laying in my lap.

Jacques went thrift shopping with me today....
At the first store, the cashier had her pet poodle with her and he made friends with her easily...he was actually quite besotted with her :)
The second store...not so good. They have resident kitties there (since they are associated with the animal shelter next door) and Jacques WANTED to make friends with them, but....yeah no. His poor little baby feelings were hurt :(

This morning while trying to relocate the baby goats from the field back to their pen, the smallest one decided she didn't want to leave, so she FLOPPED down on her belly with her legs out to all sides. I thought she had fainted or something. ...then when I finally had all 3 babies on leash and ready to walk back to the pen, baby number 2 decided she needed a mud bath, so she PUT ON HER BRAKES, planted all feet in the mud puddle then flopped on her side as I tried to coax her to "come on!" ....
Once back to the pen...baby number 3, the most stubborn bullheaded one, stepped on both of my feet.... no body earned any cookies on this trip.

I got Tiny Dog a new bed and she loves it!* She studiously watched me bundle up her old bed in a trash bag and take it out to the trash, and then fluff up and spread out her new bed and blanket. I patted it, and she jumped right on! And right off! And right on! And right off! - Then after a long evening, it was bedtime. She settled down on it right away - and stayed on!
(Kitty Diva was her usual surly self today. She doesn't know it yet, but I am looking for one of those new Friskies edible string toys for her.)
*Also, I got a great deal on exactly the kind of bed I wanted for Tiny Dog - unzippable, washable cover _and_ unzippable, washable inner bag that can be stuffed with the stuffing of my choice (cedar shavings - oh, the doggie will smell so good!)

I read some upsetting news today, and now it is 5:00 AM and I can't sleep. Tiny Dog is doing me a favor and sleeping on the floor next to me now, so hopefully I can get to sleep now.
Kitty Diva stalked off in disgust to sleep elsewhere, even though this does not impact the amount of space she gets on the bed.

She loves it! She has forsaken sleeping on the table and counter and clean laundry....

I got Kitty Diva one of those Weebles with the crunchy treats inside and the string treats that poke out. She doesn't know what to do with the string, but she figured out that the crunchy treats come out of the Weeble somehow. Instead of rocking it over so the treats fall out, though, she pokes her tongue through the hole until it sticks to a treat and pulls it out!

My hound dog, Ernie, has a nose for french fries. I swear I walk in the door and he pretty much pounces for the fries.
He also manages to sniff out Juicy Fruit gum. He pretty much ate a whole pack yesterday... Stole it out of my messenger bag.

Well.....
My daughter is back from visiting the coast...and while she was there she found an abused boxer....
Long story short...we now have a boxer!
She is calling him Yoda, I think he looks more like a Buster...we both kinda call him Buddy...
Anywho...
yesterday we took Yoda and Jacques to Chimney Rock. We walked down by the river and both dogs waded in the water...wading for Jacques meant his belly got wet. For Yoda, wading is barely getting his feets wet....but every time he'd come out of the water, he would shake himself off as though he was soaked...lol

The new dog has proven he's a lover not a fighter...
He let our visiting friend's ferret run all over him and has left the cat alone as well...
I can NOT say how much this means to me. I'm already attached to the big lug...
As a PS...the blood hound down the road has taken a shine to him also...I think she thinks he's her beau....little does she know, he's neutered...lol

So...
Ive decided to gift myself a fiddle and start learning to play a little before taking lessons....
I was on youtube looking for how to videos and the new dog (Ive decided to call him Bear..since he huffs and grunts like a big ol bear) hears the violin and does the most adorable head tilt I ever saw...then he did it on the other side too!
He was an outside dog, so all these new house noises put him on edge. But the violin actually seemed to please him :)

My girls got in to a knock down fight at three a.m. this morning over a rawhide chewy, talk about a quick wake up call. I got it broke up with no blood shed mine or theirs. All is well now and I have forbidden chewy's on the bed form now on.

boxer bear was so happy to see me home from work that he leapt and bounced like a gazelle. Its such an odd sight for such a large dog....
and
kitty Eleanor discovered a window she can get in and out of...
She came home full of cobwebs and laid in my lap...she was trying so hard to stay awake that her eyes were crossing as her head was nodding...
I have some silly furkids...lol

Last year I bought a fiddle plus books to learn to play it. It is fun and I have managed to learn some Louisiana swing/jazz music. Both my fur kids sit at my feet or not far from me, I play and they howl or bark or any combo they chose then we all have a good time.

Kitty Diva slept so hard last night that she didn't hear me calling her (or she was ignoring me). I called and looked all over the house, but no kitty. After I finally got dressed and ready to go outside at 3:00 a.m. to look for her, she suddenly appeared in the hallway. I think she was hiding, waiting to see what I would do.

Tiny Dog got her nails clipped today. Afterward, she clung to me, thinking hard at me, "Pet me! Pet me! I have suffered so, having my toenails clipped!" Of course, I gave her lots of loves for being such a good girl. After I'd had enough of that, though, she settled down to chew on her nails and do a better manicure than the one I had given her. Diva!
