The new kitten has been under the weather but her and the baby kitty are getting along well. They run and play together. It is both sweet and hilarious.

Bella has commandeered my bath robe.
She decided "it was belong to her" a few weeks ago and has proceeded to suck on it, bite a couple of tiny holes in it, and bring it everywhere she goes.
She drags it with her from room to room and I've had to explain to a couple of visitors that this is her "binky". Yes, I should take it away from her so that she understands she can't just take my clothes for her personal enjoyment but having had a Golden before, I know they are super orally fixated (God, there's SUCH a joke in there).
Besides, its pretty dang cute seeing a Golden Retriever prance all over the house with a giant bathrobe as her favorite "toy".

Since you've lost it to her anyway with the holes and dragging and whatnot, why not cut it up into 4 sections plus the arms? That way, she gets to keep what 'belongs to her', it's less bulky and dangerous to get tripped up on/start fires if you have candles burning/etc and when she demolishes one piece, you have more where that came from which will save your new robe from the same fate.
I was singing a love song to the baby kitty and she was wagging her tail and giving me googly eyes when I noticed the new kitten looking around the corner to see me singing.

Yoda was nice enough to carry the empty bowl into the living room so I'd know to refill it lol
The kitten saw my neighbor's cat through the window today. She got really excited and kept looking for her after she left. My neighbor's cat comes over every evening for a snack.

For days I'd been marveling over how well Monte has been behaving when I work on craft projects - just the perfect well mannered house cat. But today? Oh today he decided now would be a fine time to release his inner Michelangelo and "help" with the crafting by walking on top of and pouncing all over everything. I had to watch him like a hawk and police him even worse. I was just about ready to stick him in time out but when I went to catch and confine him I found him the picture off innocence sleeping like a baby on the bed that Santa brought him for Christmas. It was a Hallmark moment. Well so long as you focused on the cat in his bed not the kitchen and the living room which,on account of my crafting, are now trashed.

She's not really mine. She's my girls cat. But I was her 2nd Daddi . Confetti. She was Special. She waited for my convulsions to end. And made sure I woke with love and kisses and paw on my face. And kitty kisses to follow. I called her Chubs. Because she was a Calico kitty with attitude. Within 3weeks of her 12 years of life. To which 2 -1/2 years spent in mine. She passed. Taking with her. My life. Short yet glorious. She had a way of conveying her concerns. Yet keeping her kitty pride of independently saying Hey. I got my limits. I love But.... I love you Confetti. I miss you dearly. Your paws are engraved I'm my heart. Rest In Peace. Dear Joy of my heart.
Last week the kitten had a cold and this week the baby kitty has the cold.
This does not affect play time. Haha!

While drawing up sweet feed for the goats, I had let my boy and his sister run the yard. All of a sudden I heard him shrieking and squealing as he came running past me, with the rooster hot on his tail. Every hair from the top of his head to his tail was standing straight up. I don't know if he was being to friendly with a hen or if the rooster was just protecting his girls. At any rate this boy was not sticking around nor standing his ground. I laughed soooo hard at him, thought I'd need my inhaler

she made me feel really bad for leaving her right after I got home from work!
I am so proud of the new kitten she did not harass the repairman today. My older kitty used to try and help the repairman. Good kitten!
In other news the kitten is running through the house with the speed of light.

I let the chickens out when I got home.
Twister (cat) followed me down there. One of the big hens saw Twister as she came out of the pen. The hen took out after the cat, chasing her across the yard, between the house and the kennel, past the front porch and down into the back yard. As the hen gained ground Twister ran faster as did the hen. I got so tickled at them.

both my very old newfoundland, and my 1 year old english shepard/maremma girl got professionally groomed today. They look and smell great! The old guy has a lifetime of getting groomed so he was very good, but it took some convincing before the young one would let them use the hair dryer on her. LOL
Both of the kitties have recovered from their colds. Now they are just a black and white streak running through the house.

Old Man Bourbon, the newfoundland, struggles to climb stairs nowadays, but lately, he has been coming upstairs each night to sleep in my room. I try to get him to come up when I go up, so I can help him and he wont budge. He waits until the house is all quiet and dark, and then I hear the old body slowly, painfully, climb each step, with labored breathing. He meets me at the door of the upstairs living area, (I climb out of bed to get to him) and I bend down and wrap my arms around his furry neck and love on him. I dont understand why he waits...or why he even climbs...when its obviously so hard for him to do. But I feel the love and give him love back...
He cannot lay on the bed...I have tried to lift him up and he refuses to stay.I worry about him jumping down as his bones are so fragile now. So he lays next to me on the floor. Moon Baby dog sleeps on the bed and is insanely jealous of him..she tries to get between us when he comes to me for pets. I refuse to allow her to do so. She gets LOTS of attention from me so she must wait when he requests it.
He is 12, almost 13. Newfs usually live about 10 years. My longest term one was 14 when she passed. We are heading closer to the end than I want. He is in good health for his age, other than his body having arthritis and congestive heart. So as long as he wants to climb the stairs, I will be waiting for him...

She tried to pretend she was a fainting goat when I put the leash on her. Then she acted like she was full of jumping beans. Poor baby pygmy goat. She loves vanilla cookies.
When I first met the baby kitty she set next to me and just looked at me. 10.5 years later she still sits and looks at me for hours. She is so cute. I hold her paw in my hand she loves that.
I am having a issue with the new kitten. She occasionally pees next to the kitty box instead of in the kitty box. Does anyone have an idea how I can change that behavior?

How many boxes do you have? You should have at least one box for each cat to avoid tantrums and territorial behaviors.

Sometimes they have pain going in the box caused by urinary or other health issues. If your fur-kit is otherwise acting ok, try putting houseplants around their box or something because that stopped mine from doing that.

we moved my grand daughter's pony this weekend. He was at a farm that initially met our boarding needs, but when I rehomed my riding mare, they cast little Tull out into the pasture with no stall to call his own. They treated him like a fleeting thought. They fed, watered and let him come into an open barn at will, but the flooring was all mud, so deep, it sank him to his knees. He is only 38" tall! a wee thing! I moved him to get him to a place where he had his own stall and was kept warm and dry and safe.
He had turned into a hellion while living loose. But as soon as we moved him, and he was in a stall again, he immediately relaxed and became very quiet and compliant. It was as tho he was so grateful to be out of the mud and rain!

My only pets are fish. Some say they are not really pets, but to me they are. So relaxing to watch. Plus I can come to the tank and they actually swim to me even when I am not feeding them. I think they know who their owner is, I honestly do. Pretty cool.

My very large, very dominant calico cat wouldn't leave me alone until I figured out what it was she wanted.
Tried petting...no
Tried fresh food...no
Tried new cold water...no
She laid on the floor and did a complete rollover.
Guessed maybe the spine area itched (she's to big to reach it).
Got the comb and briskly combed her back. She danced and chewed on her arm so I figured out that her back did indeed itch.
Afterwards, she laid down on the floor with belly to the air and began to nap. My Partner said that she looked like an upside down bear rug.

Good morning everyone, how is it going today? Yesterday I brought Hobo now renamed Obi, some how it just fits him better. Home from the vet from being fixed. So far he hasn't got a clue what's happened cause he hasn't changed a bit just the plumbing is a bit different. I ended up taking him to Robinsons Rescue for the fix job even with the reduced rates it hit me up for $84.00, course it sure beats the $185.00 to $275.00 I got from checking out the regular vets fees. I remember say three years ago I had a pup fixed for $52.00 the price when't outta sight real fast after that. The last horse I had gelded only cost me $125.00 at that time so now I hear it cost twice that much just for a standard straight up clip job. I am so glad I have lots of experience with vet work so I don't use the vet unless I have to.
Any way he is filling up and gaining weight. He still hardly wont play with toys or eat teats but is getting better at both a little. Obi is house broke, walks on a leash isn't any problem is easy to clip so not playing with toys or liking treats
is strange. My other two fur kids get along with him even though they have a huffing woof hear or there but that's it. I feel blessed, he could have been a holy terror. I know he loves his new soft dry bed, he runs to it jumps on it turns a few circles the flops down in pure joy. Makes both his day and mine.
The kitten got in my lap at 5:00 am for a short pet and a little play time.

While moving I found a long white whisker and a crinkle little lobster cat toy under my nightstand. Both belonged to my sweet Confetti. I said to Blaze when I found that wisker,
Look, this must have been a Confetti wisker, it's white, she had white wiskers, right. He said yes. I thought, aww, That cat left me a memory.
Ah, well, not really, the other two cats have white wiskers to!
Confetti and I went to the vet once a week, in her last month. Just the other day I really found a wisker in my car. I bet was hers! It's in my little console in my car.

Rowdy has arthritis in her hip and I'm giving her ArthAway by Animed Dog care.
I got it from Charlton vet supply for $40.00 the number is 1800-748-7837. I have also used Ramadill pain pills ( these are mort expensive) but she had some tummy issues come up so I changed over to the other med. She now can jump on the couch as well as the foot stool but not my bed, I think she likes me picking her up along with all the petting and belly rubs extra she gets.
I needed a Rx from the vet to buy the med but it wasn't any kind of an issue to get it.my feed guy has Acti-flex K9 and swears by it, being I am using the Arthaway and doing well with it I didn't want to change anything. Be aware if the old guy ansers the phone is a real Scrooge most anyone else is ok. I haven't bought from them since the feed store stared carrying the Arthaway.
The directions say to mix it in the food but I have had better results mixing it in some peanut butter that way I know she gets all, besides she loves pnb.

I will ask my vet about this. We do acupuncture for his arthritus. Our vet specializes in it for dogs and horses. Meds tend to rip up his stumach. I will see if my vet thinks your suggestion might help Bourbon. Lately he has been doing better...until the rain hit. Its gotten colder as well as wet here in NE Ohio, and I and my dog are feeling it!
Thank you for the recommendation!

Blue, the resident free-range, pet chicken, thought she out smarted me as she got away from me when I tried to catch her to relocate her to a new "chicken tractor"...she clucked-n-fussed loudly as she waddled at high speed around every obstacle on the yard she could think would be hiding places, gave me a good run for my $$$...
Until I had enough and waited until it was dark out to scoop her up in the giant fish net with one swoop.
And...
My baby pygmy goat, Taffy Tot, gave me a hard time when I tried to attach her "lead" to her collar...when she saw the honeysuckle, she tried to drag me that way, then dropped to her knees to eat while I struggled to swap out her leash for her 20 foot lead line. She is an eating machine!! The other day when I had to pick her up, she let out a burp like my Uncle George would have after dinner. She's all of 15 pounds, maybe. And cracks me up every day with her antics.

I have an elderly husky with mastitis. She didn't do much today. She has never liked walks but dislikes being outside for long at all now. She's not in pain according to the vet but I know decisions have to be made soon.
I have a little spaniel with cancer (they're both elderly rescues) who's currently laid at my feet. He gets so mucked up when he goes out so I've been combing his fur and wondering if he needs a groomer again.
And I have a mix breed wolfy puppy who's been generally bounding around driving everyone nuts today. I hand raised her and I adore her but I feel for her trying to play with the elderly two who can't be bothered!

Tiny Dog, surprisingly, likes raisins. Who knew? Not me. I was making date nut roll and she was begging - I tried really hard to convince her that "doggies do not like raisins." Finally I gave her one. She wasn't too sure about it at first - she put it on the floor, sniffed it, picked it up, chewed it a little, then put it back on the floor. She did this four times. Finally she ate it, and begged for more!
I gave her 3 total. I didn't want to mess up her digestive system.
The baby kitty is laying in my lap purring. The kitten is running through the house playing with everything.

Careful. Raisins, like grapes, can be toxic (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grape_and_raisin_toxicity_in_dogs) to dogs.

I brought My little guy home today. I named him Sebastian. Right now he is sound asleep behind Me just purring away. He is such a lover- you can tell that he did not get a lot of love before. Now he just wants to be close and to be petted. I am good with that. :)

Bruce and Joker(large black cats that found home 6 months ago) Took turns napping with Riley (Rot/Shep mix) Bruce slept on top on Riley's face and Joker who does not like physical contact except with Bruce curled up between Riley's paws. This is new behavior for Joker and has made very happy he is learning to trust the dogs a little more each day.

Baby stuck to me like glue. She was always a bit like that, but since her sister cat passed away, it's even more extreme. I don't know if she's just taking the opportunity to get more time with me or whether she misses Zuzu.
I am torn about getting another cat and probably won't for a while. I am facing knee replacement surgery and recovery and then getting ready to move. I am not sure what my living situation will be once I do move. Moreover, moving two cats across country is just that much more stress and expense. The only sane thing to do is wait until I move. And I am not pining for another cat. I still miss Zuzu a lot.
Also, I watch this show called My Cat From Hell. And I truly dread the possibility of conflict between a new cat and Baby. Baby and Zuzu were sorta traumatized by a housemate's cat back in the day. I don't know how Baby would adjust.
I am afraid she's bored though. A dog would be the perfect companion for her. She loves dogs. But I am not physically able to take care of a dog yet.

Sebastian meowed all through the night. I am guessing because he wanted attention and is also anxious and trying to get used to his new home. I am reading up on this behavior- because I am cranky if I do not get enough sleep- so I am going to have to see what I can do so this does not become a habit.
Also, I do not think he used his litter spot at all. So I am wondering if he was meowing because he wanted to go out- because he is used to going to the bathroom outdoors.

I am not a cat expert but I would think that your kitty is just nervous about his new home. Lots of petting and love will help him feel comfortable.
The baby kitty is laying on my lap purring. The kitten is in her bed napping. All is quiet in the house.

Last night Sebastian got out. I have a deck off My kitchen and had the main door open but the screen door was closed. I was sitting here on the couch and he was over there sniffing by the door- before I knew it- he pushed into the screen door- and he bolted. Apparently I did not have the screen door latched the whole way. It was pitch dark out there- and we had storms off and on all day. I went out with a flashlight and tried to get him back in. No luck.
I was in chat and Martina and Buck suggested putting food out- and leaving the door open a bit- and to keep calling for him every half hour or so. I tried that until I just could not keep My eyes open any more. No luck.
I did check the bowl this morning- and he must have come around while I was sleeping and ate almost all of the food.
I was messaging with My sis- and she said given we do not know his history- he might be an outdoor cat and I do not know it-so it might be likely I will always have problems like this.
Right now, I just want him to come back. I wish I could take the day off today- but I can't- we have people coming in from our sister company- and this is an important week.
I am seriously sad and worried right now. Say a prayer for him- and his safe return, please.

Well, I just came home from work and checked the food and water dish- nothing has been touched. So, now I am not even sure if that was him that ate from the dish before- or if it was some critter.
After I checked the dish- I went outside and looked around- calling for him near my neighbor's cluttered decks and all- no meowing or anything. I have the deck door open- and will keep calling for him.
I am just sick with worry- and I feel responsible given I did not latch the screen door properly. The only good news is that when I drove home I did not see any cat that had been hit near me. I will never forgive myself if that happens. But, I am just not going to let my mind go there right now.
Keep him in your thoughts, and thank you to everyone that sent their wonderful words- it means a great deal.

I just got him Saturday morning from someone that had posted him on a garage/rummage sale website that I belong to. Apparently he was a drop off near their home. So, I do not know any history on him. She posted him on several sites to try to find the owners to no avail. So she then reached out and asked if anyone would be willing to take him. I volunteered. I had not even had a chance to take him to the vet yet- which I had planned to do this week.

I'm so sorry to hear that he's slipped out, Hopefully he will return home soon!
I am betting that if he was smart enough to escape he is smart enough to survive.
I have had a few cats over the years that just insisted that they had to be out side animals, regardless of what my opinion was.
If I did not let them out they were terrors to the home other animals people... did I mention that one as a form of protest refused to use the litter box? I gave in quickly in that battle.
I think like any creatures that share a space as soon as he comes back through that door you'll find a rhythm that works.
Fingers crossed.

As of today on My return home from work- still no sign of him. I have a feeling he truly is an outdoor cat. I found the last bowl of food I left out there empty this morning- but the water dish was still full. Given this is happening after I fall asleep I have no clue if it is him or a possum or other critter. I think I need to prepare Myself that he may not return and if he does- he will always want to be an outside cat. While I adore him- I truly do want an indoor cat.
After speaking to one of My colleagues at work today- she suggested I go to the SPCA and mingle with the cats they have there- and see if I have a connection to any. I was hesitant at first- given all of this is fresh- but I also know I can not stay stuck in sadness mode- and My heart is still open should he return- and if he wanted to be an outdoor cat- I would feed him still, etc.
Well, long story short- and after visiting with about 12 cats total- I found Lily!! She has been at the shelter for quite some time as no one wants to adopt her as she is an older cat- 4 yrs 8 mo. to be exact. She is just lovely- very social- and inquisitive- I decided to do the application- and I will be bringing her home with Me this Thursday after work. They said if I had a change of heart between now and then I can just call and cancel.
They printed off her health history for Me to look at before then- and when I got home this evening I made a discovery- she has the same birthday as Myself- same month and day!! Crazy, right? But, that tells Me it is meant to be.
I am doing this with a heavy heart- but I also know- it is the right thing to do- and should Sebastian return- My heart and door is open to him- and I would care for him however he wanted, even if it is an outdoor situation.
Thank you to everyone who sent Me caring messages and showed concern for him and for Me. That is what community is all about- and I appreciate it more than I can tell you all.

Peppermint Oil...safe, non toxic...a little goes a long way...Ants HATE it and will not cross over it. Use Q-tips soaked in the oil, spread it around all your windows and door thresholds, around all your plumbing pipes at the floor or where they come in from basement, around your dryer vent...etc.
What did my pets do...drive me insane today.
Thanks for this tip, Kenna. I still saw a few ants after Eric sprayed and I bought 4 ounces of peppermint oil. That took care of the remaining ants. I'm down to seeing one or maybe two a day and that's really good. I have Dr. Bonners Peppermint Liquid Soap and will start using that more often, too.

You're very welcome. Put it anywhere you think they're getting in. My gramma would even put a few drops around her electrical outlets in her old house, and made sure she refreshed it around windows and doors after any big rain. When I relocate my hummingbird feeders soon, I'll use it on the shepard's hooks. I'm tired of cleaning out feeders and finding a swarm of drowned ants. I wish it wasn't so expensive (my little bottle $20), or I'd spray my garden with it (cussing at fire ants)...
Keeping with thread....my old dog nearly took my fingers off when I offered him a "pizza bone"...
My baby goat cried loudly until I fed her cookies.
My baby chickens got their pictures posted on craigslist...
And my turtle was very mad at me for feeding her diced up cabbage instead of her favorite cucumber.

It probably didn't hurt that her dog, Bella, is my dog's daughter. (Her father is my poodle Jacques)

Moon Baby is too intelligent and witty!
In the morning, she loves to come wake me up. She will lick my hand, and if that doesnt budge me, she jumps up on the bed and lays down next to me and rolls around until I put my hand on her.
This Monday and Tuesday, I had opportunity to sleep in. I did not want to get up. We have a doggie door so she did not have to rely on me to let her out and we free feed, so she wasnt going hungry. She just wanted me UP.
So when licking me and rolling around on me didnt work, she ran downstairs and went to her toy box in the living room, grabbed a squeaky toy, then ran up the steps and came back to our bedroom. She laid on the floor, squeaking that damn toy vigorously! She would not let up until I groaned and got out of bed...both days!
I love this dog and am amazed at how smart she is!
(I am smarter...I am hiding that damn toy tonight because I AM going to sleep in tomorrow! LOL)

Bella is such a little smartass!!
So, I don't allow her on my bed because she is WAY too bossy.
I've been working longer hours lately so she has been insistent that I play with her as soon as I get home. Well, a couple of nights in a row I've gotten home and plopped in a dining chair and started sending emails.
Bella usually stays glued to my side so when things get quiet I know she is up to something.
TWO DAYS IN A ROW NOW it has gotten quiet and when I get up to check what she is doing I have found her standing IN THE MIDDLE OF MY BED WITH MY $12 MAKEUP SPONGE DANGLING FROM HER MOUTH!!!
SHE IS TAUNTING ME!!!!!
Phoebe a very sweet whippet has a thing with loud noises they scare the crap out of her I was upstairs reading ( go figure) with my constant companion when there is two very loud booms from outside and all of a sudden I have 5 pounds of shaking panting whippet crawling on my chest .. she was a mess and as I was calming her here comes her kitty sister Piper curls up next to Phoebe and starts giving her kisses just about the cutest thing ever (f)

The new addition to My household- is doing awesome!! She actually slept on My bed last night- I laid down and had the tv on- and bam she jumps up and found herself a spot and watched tv with Me. Not sure if she slept there all night- but it was cute that she wanted to be up there.
I also went and bought a water reservoir for her- so that she has constant water down- and also a little pop out play tube for her to play around in.
I went online earlier and purchased her pet insurance and also registered her microchip. Tomorrow I will call to make her first vet appointment-so that I can establish care for her. I think she is settling in great.
Honestly though, My heart still breaks when I think about Sebastian being out there somewhere. I wish he would come back even if it wants to stay outdoors. I hope he found a good place to land. The little guy will always be in My heart for sure.

When I came home yesterday- My furry friend was waiting for Me on the arm of the couch- just looking at Me with those big green marble eyes- that look of love just amazes Me.
So, I noticed that she is super interested in what is going on outdoors. She has not taken to hopping up on the bathroom sink and stretching herself to look out the bathroom window. I set up a table with a cushy towel in front of one of the windows in the livingroom to see if she will explore it. But, I am thinking maybe not because it is louder at that window as that window faces the apartment parking lot and main road. We shall see.
I will be taking her to her first vet appointment next week to establish care.
I wish I knew how to post pictures on here- I would show everyone what she looks like. Maybe I will take the time to read how to do it in the newbs section or wherever it is located.

I woke up this morning to find out/realize that My kitty is not actually sleeping in the bedroom at night. She will get up there with Me when I am laying in bed and watching tv- but during the night she must get down- and she actually sits right outside the door- and in a way where she can see into the bedroom.
I feel bad though- because I know that normally she will sleep under the bed especially during the day- so now I feel like I am taking her sleep area away from her by sleeping in My bed. hahaha.

I haven't talked about it here but my mother's pit bull, Mae Mobley, had to be put down recently.
Her other dog, Bella, had become very depressed because of the loss. The only time she perked up was when I visited with my three dogs....
SO.....
My mother has asked if my tiniest dog, Bitsy, can stay and be part of the family. She gets along well with Bella and just LOVES the fenced yard my mother has as well as the treats she is showered with.
I know she will be in good hands...but I will miss my littlest furbaby. I do know its a better fit for her. She's a puppy and she needs lots of love and attention and I do work a lot.

Kitty Eleanor has already caught and killed one mouse at the house we're staying at....
Well.....
The other day, I was just waking up and she was intent on something under the bed (air mattress). I jumped out of the bed and lifted the air mattress and sure enough...there was a cute little field mouse.
I picked Eleanor up and put her out of the room and tried to catch the mouse. To no avail. He went under the bedroom door right into the kitchen where Eleanor was. He made it under the stove and to who knows where. His corpse hasn't turned up yet so I guess he made it.
I wish I had named her Diana instead of Eleanor. She is QUITE the huntress.....

The fur-kids here have been having a real good time playing in the woods all day. I did'nt want to cut a big hole in my door for a cat-door for them, so, I cut a cat-door hole in a piece of plywood, and sawed it to fit purrfectly into a lower window. I also built a little shelf outside of their cat-door window for them to jump up on. :)
We have a bedtime routine around here I have come to realize, when it is time for bed I tend to announce the fact and Phoebe runs as fast as she can for the stairs Gracie who will not go upstairs curls on the couch and waits for her goodnight kisses Piper waits for me at the top of the stairs where I MUST stop and let her give me many many kisses and if I dare move before she is done she will pull me back with her paw (silly kitty) finally get to the bedroom where Phoebe is already curled in the bed looking att me like what took you so long and for a whippet she sure can take up some room each in their own way they demand attention before bedtime silly babies :moonstars:

My baby cat has specific places she likes to cuddle, and the recliner is not one of them. But, after I sit down in the recliner, to show her affection, she'll come halfway across the room and lie down nearby. She'll usually do a few of her "Don't you think I'm cute" poses, too. And, of course, I'll tell her how pretty she is. Once she has had enough, she'll go back to her cat tree or go about her cat business.

Yes they are quite popular here in Texas, I've only seen maybe 7 in my neighborhood in 20 years... each owner liked the fact that there isn't much grooming to the breed!

Kitty Diva has decided the best place to sleep is where the other pillow on my bed would be, if there were another pillow on my bed. She wants to snuggle with her butt right up my nose. (Ewwww.)

Killer will eat all of Bella's food unless Bella's food is up on a footstool that he can't reach.
This morning I watched Bella eating from her footstool but pausing every few seconds to drop 2 or 3 kibbles on the floor that Killer would immediately scoop up. This action repeated at least 8 or 9 times.
BELLA WAS TOTALLY FEEDING HIM.

I tried walking a cat once. I had a harness with a lead for her. I let her walk around in it for awhile, and then started trying to walk with her. I went very, very slowly. I would take a step, wait for her to catch up, and then take another step. I thought, "This is going pretty well!" and I looked around at her. The cat had just laid down on her side, and was letting me drag her along! I never tried it again after that. Good luck!

Make sure the harness distributes the force equally around the shoulders and belly. Don't even attempt it with a simple collar.
There will likely be some pulling as they adjust to it but it's entirely possible. People have to train dogs to walk on a leash. Cats are no different. It won't be natural to them but consistent and patient training can work wonders.
This is a pretty good tutorial on it.

I caught the most hysterical video this morning!
Killer, who weighs in at maybe 5 pounds but thinks he's the biggest badass ever when it comes to bones, informed Bella that she was DONE CHEWING on her yak bone by running over, showing one tooth, and placing his tiny little Cheetoh-smelling paw on top of her bone.
She immediately turned her head away from him and then got up and moved away. She's 70 pounds! She could easily sit on him and crush him but she's fine letting him rule the roost around here. LOL
The baby kitty finally got off my lap and is laying on the window seal enjoying the sushine. The kitten is rolled up in the bed sheets taking a quiet nap.
They both have enjoyed me being home so much this holiday weekend.

After a 10 day scare with the new kitten not wanting to play, eat much or drink water we are on the mend. Though found out she is definitely younger than said to be. Shes barely 10 weeks old not the 13 they claimed her to be. And has decided I am her momma, she follows me everywhere and until yesterda would only eat if I was right there. She was her playful spunky self this morning and I am so relieved and happy to have our little ninja kitten back.
The baby kitty gets so excited when I pick up the light pointer. She knows the sound when I pick it up. She can still run up a wall chasing it at 11 years old and very stout.
The kitten is slowly learning that the light pointer is big fun.

My dog is still bent out of shape, the cat is still ignoring her, and I'm still laughing.
At midnight last night we played with the light pointer. The baby kitty got half way up the wall. The kitten is learning but it is slow. She chases the light around the floor but loses interest easily.

Monte the Magnificent isn't feeling well so he is on bed rest. He wanted out earlier this morning but no can do. I don't think the new menu plan is working out. I was hoping to save some money by switching over to a less expensive grain free cat food. However this must be the junk food of all grain free cat foods because he's responding to it just like he did when I had him on regular food with grain in it. So slowly back to the old brand of grain free food it is. Right now he's napping, lying on his right side curled up into a half moon shape with his left paw covering his eyes. A sleep mask of sorts of his own creation. So cute. I just love him so much and will do anything I can to see him back to his old self again soon.

He's stopped shedding, gained a few ounces and we've come to a compromised on treats – only after he's finished what's in his bowl. Not only that he has to work to earn them by finding them which motivates him to keep moving and get a little exercise in. I'm so happy his health is on an upswing. Once he's back up to weight I'm going to take him in for a paw dip, bath and grooming session.

1. Played his usual "hard to get" for his morning left ear thyroid med application (all while purring)
2. Begged for his night time right ear application
3. Continued his 14 year streak of being adorable and irresistable

Tiny Dog and Diva Kitty are, alas, stuck in my bedroom all day while construction work goes on in the rest of the house and I am at work. I wonder what they are doing alone together all day? Plotting to overthrow the world? Planning their escape as soon as I get home and open the door? They're probably just snoozing. Tiny Dog is probably occasionally worried by the smells of strange people in the house and the unusual sounds. If Diva Kitty feels the need for privacy, she'll hide in my closet for awhile. Tiny Dog doesn't care about privacy.

The herbal "calm me down pills" that the vet recommended for my biggest Boston are finally starting to work now. Unfortunately he is sleeping a lot more.... But what is worse? Sleeping more or attacking his brother and sister? The last time he attacked his brother (they are litter mates) it was an expensive vet bill, and his sister is my 12year old senior Boston who cannot defend herself. So I guess I'll have to deal with the sleeping more and have 3 safe dogs.:seeingstars::seeingstars:
All is a welcome quiet in my house. The baby kitty is next to me begging for tummy rubs and the kitten is playing in her tube.

Currently, he's snoozing under the tree as he has finally run out his energy. Holy cow, he was bouncing off the walls, literally!

Hey Hey, *lol*, I just let the dogs out of their kennels, petted them both on their heads and thanked them for not nagging me during the night and then gave them both a huge hunk of cheese and turned them loose outside, in my BFF's back yard, so they can bark like crazy and stretch their legs and scare the chickens awake, next door.
My sweet caT is now inside and ready for her morning meds and her first treat of the day :giggle:

The kitties are very happy that I am home. The baby kitty is laying on my lap. The kitten is playing and running through her tube.

I BET the neighbors just loved being woken up early on a Sunday morning by barking dogs.......
Her neighbors are our friends (remember that they own the restaurant out by me, yet live next door to my BFF? ), who got home from an all-nighter catering event......they actually were making SO much noise that my BFF's dogs woke me up so they could go outside and use their talented barking skills, lol. The chickens didn't really care tho, because they're always up with the birds. :|

He was sooo excited to see Us yesterday that he turned into soft kitty velcro and would go from one to the other and just attach himself to Us.
This morning, he's playing with the wheels on my chair so we may need to have a refresher course in what is acceptable to play with and what could get you hurt if you play with it.
Also, the pet sitter overfed him and he's a mini butterball now.

Over the weekend my roommate sent me a picture of Skippy standing to the side of her truck thinking it was my truck and just trying his best to get me to get out of the truck. I was out of town the picture of him touched my heart how much he loves and misses me and made me feel guilty.
So today I took him out for ice cream he loves vanilla ice cream and he gets a little vanilla chin and it is so cute.
A cold front came through so I opened the windows and the kitties are having a blast running from window to window smelling the air.
Fun time.

My kitty decided to "help" me knit. This involves a game of keep away where I try to get the yarn on the knitting needle and she tries to get the yarn on her paws. I did not get much knitting accomplished tonight!

Loki hid under the bed for most of the night but is relaxing on the sofa now. He's been enjoying the new layout of the apartment but he better not get used to it.

He got stepped on this morning. Poor baby. Usually I can feel him but I have flip flops on due to the wet carpet and didn't feel him there until after I'd pinched his little paw. He's running around fine but I feel bad about it.
As a benefit, he did give me a wide berth while I finished making my oatmeal so maybe he's getting the idea that it might be wise to hang back a little.

He acted like a lil ham at the vet even when he was miserable. $230...four bottles of meds...a large blood panel (all to be done again in two weeks)...special food...to be told he will be on meds the rest of his life and they suspect Cushings (another $200 test), on top of what they diagnosed today.
He tried so hard to be a good boy. And he tried to take two baby kitties home with him. The only thing that distracted him from his pain was those kitties.

Loki has obviously forgotten his lesson from yesterday, although there was no stepping on of toes or tail this morning....just Mama doing a little sideways Mamba to keep from doing so.
Currently, he's trying to entice me to play. Our sofa has been temporarily moved to a paw's reach to my computer and, more importantly, my shoulder as I sit at the computer.
*tap, tap, tap
No, Loki. Not now.
*play, play, play

No, Loki.

Okay, fine, but you're getting put down the second to you try to eat my oatmeal.
He lasted approximately 42 seconds.

My poor babies had to spend all day sleeping in my bedroom while the construction people worked in the rest of the house. There was lots of love and belly rubs when I got home, but Diva Kitty has decided not to come sleep with me on the bed tonight. She's punishing me for leaving her alone with the dog all day.

As soon as DC opened the door to the bedroom, Loki flew in and on the bed for lots of pets and snuggles with me. Sometimes he's so damn adorable, I can't stand it.

As my kitty Allie has gotten older she has also been much more interested in where I go and what I do.
Today she followed me to the car to get some groceries out of it and to the dumpster to take out the trash and then followed me around the apartment to see what I was doing. She talked to me the whole time as of asking me what I was doing.
It was pretty cute. 🐈

Loki is actually using the pet bed I got for him this week. He's been here for about 6 weeks and basically ignored it up until now but he looks soooo darn cute all curled up inside of it. He has a routine of sleeping on my lap, then Daddy's and then his own bed. Goldilocks? He's is buff colored.

Ole boy had a BIG day at the beach. I love seeing him play like a pup. He posed for many pictures and was content people watching while he lounged in the cool sand at my feet. He was so curious about other people and their activities, but was so very content with the breeze in his face.
He cracked me up when he was scared to get his feet wet...he didn't chase the waves, they chased him.
I'm very thankful he's feeling better after we put him back on his meds.
