Good morning folks!

I am staying home from Church today, as the angiogram site is sore, and it is uncomfortable to sit upright for long periods of time.

But, we will take a ride to Diamond Lake to see the wildflowers later today...I can ride with the seat back reclined for comfort. The poppies look beautiful on tv, and I want to see them before this heat kills them off. California poppies have been a rare sight for the last 10 years or so due to the drought....I'm super excited!!

Happy Sunday, everybody!

Today has been lovely so far. It's cool outside but not cold, and sunny and beautiful. I had my coffee and toasted breakfast bread sitting outside in the porch swing, in a patch of sunshine.

This afternoon I'm taking Tiny Dog outside for playtime in the sunshine. I'm going to get in a nap at some point. I don't want to do anything but hang out at home today, although I may go pick up my prescriptions from the pharmacy.

My Love dove is making breakfast for us this morning and I am enjoying the much needed rest, which we both need today. We don't have any plans to go anywhere except to stay home and spend time together doing whatever ever our hearts desire.

It's foggy and peaceful outside and the weather is supposed to be somewhat sunny today. Naturally, we love sunshine. :stillheart:

my husband works midnites so he is sleeping. Even on his days off, he sleeps so he can maintain his body rhythm.

I am baking chicken, making bread, and doing laundry.

I cleaned the large dog kennel earlier. Its 20 by 30 feet approx. Our dogs have a doggie door that allow them to go in and out into this kennel. It is So convenient! Even the cats go outside now and dont use the litter box. (but, if I dare to start seeds inside, they WILL use that dirt! LOL)

Later we are going to go see the grand kids. The newborn is almost 3 weeks old and the first born is going to be 3 in April. My husband had a long lasting flu so he hasnt met the newborn yet. Today is his first time to be with her!

the house is clean. My paperwork for work is done. I slept well. The dogs are snoring. Life, at Rose Cottage, is great this Sunday!

Today was relaxing. I woke up and lounged in bed for a while, got up and went to the gym then went to the store and was home by noon for lunch.

I'm being very, very quiet because it's early, very early, this morning. I think I only slept about 5 hours. But I'll make up for it this afternoon, I think.

We picked up Hal and skipped Church today; instead, we took a trip up to Idllywild for Italian food at a place called "Ferros".

All of the food is homemade, including the bread, pasta and pizza dough...omg the bread is the best I have ever had in my entire life!

The rest of the day will be spent reading, napping and planning our next trip for bread, I mean Italian food! Lol

We are doing all of our usual Sunday stuff (Church, food), unless something better comes up...lol

Last week the Church parking lot was overflowing, so we went for a drive and lunch out...sometimes you have to worship God in your heart instead of in a building.

I just took out a couple of rib-eye steaks for dinner tonight, and I think I will throw together a German potato salad and call it a meal.

my house was full of people this morning, as my husband and some friends decided they wanted to go to the flea market in our town. Its the largest in our area. (I opted not to go so i could sleep in some) they returned with knives, a walking cane with a sword in it, zombie bumper stickers, coffees, and some dog toys!

In a bit, we are heading out to the tack shed to tackle more of the horse tack I have to put up for sale. Lord this is a never ending process!

Steaks for us too, today. Later on our grill. Its going to be in the 60s here. Sunshine and pleasant. Lots more to do in the yard too...

I had a very nice and long tea date with a good friend this morning. Now I'm home for Sunday chores. The sun is out and the temps are warming up - yay!!!

Another day of cleaning here and going through cupboards, closets, and drawers!

Started the day with a cold mug of kefir while I cooked hash browns with garlic & onion, topped with a couple of poached eggs. Next came a shower, and got started on my chore list.

We are supposed to get some rain today, but we need it, so that's all good.

Still have a load of laundry to do and some prep cooking for the week ahead, otherwise the day is mine to do as I please. I think i will read. :)

It's warm enough today that I was able to have brunch on my balcony for the first time this spring. The leaves on the trees in front of it are starting to grow back. I spend the whole summer with my porch shaded cool misty green by those trees. I can't wait to have that back. Looking forward to spending lots of time there this summer.

It's been a great morning so far. I woke up to sunlight streaming through the window instead of an alarm, lounged in bed for a bit, went to the gym and had an amazing workout and am now eating the last of the name brand pizza I picked up on sale for 4 bucks. 4 bucks!!! It gave me 3 meals, so that was an awesome deal, which always makes me happy.

gorgeous day here! in the 70s and so clear!

today is my grand daughter's 3rd birthday party at a roller skating rink. Yes, she loves to roller skate! She has NO fear! Her Woody Toy Story doll is already wrapped and we are just waiting for time to pass to head out.

after the party, we are so busy!
the lawn guy is coming over to mow for the first time this year! Next Sunday is easter and the grand daughter is going to have an easter egg hunt in the yard so I want it nice and neat for her!

then our dog groomer is arriving and shaving down our old newfoundland. He is 12 years old and has congestive heart failure. Shaving him in hot weather takes alot of the pressure off his body to regulate heat.

our maintenance guy is coming over to measure for new countertops in the kitchen! Thank you income tax return! (next week, the guys from the flooring store are measuring for new tile in the kitchen as well!)

all my paperwork is done for work. The laundry is all done. And the house is completely cleaned and most of the spring cleaning done!

I'm working today to give the Mom's a day off. Going in to recover the store, Mother's Day is our Christmas. Yesterday we beat smashed our goal, even after some dumb customer returned a $620 online purchase!

I'm tending to a sore throat this morning and a sliced finger. Apparently a serrated knife is for bread not the end of my finger. Yeah, I have makeshift stitches for now. I'm hoping this works.

It looks like a beautiful day ahead. I had a bluejay come to my garden. I'm going to put out peanuts now!

Woke up and had Cap'n Crunch while I watched an episode of The West Wing. Took Tiny Dog out in the rain :( and she picked today to get herself tangled in a mahonia bush. So I had to come out from under the carport and rescue her. Went back inside and toweled both of us off, and now we are snuggling back into bed to listen to the rain on the roof.

Afterwards, I and the hubbie are picking up the grand daughter (if the storm holds off) to take her for a pony ride. We finally got her all the things she needs to ride in her cute little pink english saddle. She is adorable riding her white beast! LOL

I am picking up a load of baby clothes to give to the young woman who helps me with housework. She is a teen mom. She has an 8 month old baby boy. So I have a boy to buy for as well as two grand daughters!

Hubbie made fantastic chili for today! I dont have to cook! <3

Today will be a lazy day. My thighs are killing me from my beach hike! I would like to grocery shop but we're trying to wait until his sister moves so we can take inventory of food left.

We went for ice cream and to my favorite produce place.

I got Turkish eggplant after YEARS of separation....geographically.

Rainy Sunday morning for me. On coffee #2....i wake up too early for my own good, and in order to not let my thoughts get away from me i try to stay busy while still enjoying my peace and quiet.

i've skipped my Sunday morning grocery shopping trip, and have been doing laundry and boiling eggs for the week, and trying not to fret.

Happy Sunday, Folks!!!! Hope all who get a long weekend are enjoying it. I lucked out this year having my holiday off fall on my weekend off. Thoroughly enjoying it and just relaxing. Cooked a pot of spaghetti yesterday and having a friend over today to grill burgers and dogs. Hope everyone relaxes and has a safe, positive week ahead.

I have a working weekend but Monday off. I woke up late today and have spent the first part of the morning playing fashion show and trying to decide what new purchases to keep and what to bring back. I'll be eating and getting ready for work very soon and bringing in the afternoon with some manual labor and maybe a few customers.

I traveled all day yesterday and now I'm visiting with my Mom. Such a wonderful place to be. I slept in and getting ready for coffee. I'm going to be doing the little things, well, the things out of her reach. Maybe I'll be doing the tall things..lol.

I am exhausted from a long day yesterday with the grand daughter. I could barely get out if bed! I hurt all over! I was enjoying coffee, waiting for time to pass so my hubbie and I could go to a theater show, when I discovered the show was at 2, not 230 and it was already 1PM and I hadnt showered yet! I showered, dressed, etc and we made it to the theater on time!

My niece and several friends were in the show. LOVED my niece who stole the stage with her character!

now we are resting until we start the week's wash. I love Sundays...some fun, some housework...

Packed until 3am this morning, slept 12 hours and got back to it. It has been almost 8 hours now nonstop but at least the entire place (30-35 boxes) are packed and all that is left is SILs room.

I have Kindle Unlimited, and for $9.99 a month I can read as many books as I choose...and boy can I read! I am in the middle of a detective series by Joy Ellis, and I read around 2 books a day!

HAPPY SUNDAY FOLKS!! I got a lot of yard work done yesterday and today I have to go shopping for new scrubs and sneakers for my new job. They only wear maroon/burgundy colored scrubs and I only have one set of those. And we can't wear nursing clogs or crocs, and that's what I currently wear. So I have to Brave the 93• heat and hit the outlets, and I HATE shopping!!!!!!!!! I will treat myself to a Starbucks iced mocha chip afterward and come home and relax. Such sweet time on this Sunday morning having my coffee before the rest of the house is awake!
I was able to clean the kitchen, make some tea, and get a load of laundry done and am now ensconced in the recliner approving memberships and doing a little electronic housekeeping.
I always loved slow, easy mornings the best!

Once the bear is out of hibernation, I'll make breakfast and then we are off to get JD a haircut, grab some fresh veggies at the farmer's market, do a little shopping at the mall, and come home to catch more of Orange is the New Black.

I just woke up after a night spent on my brand-new 100% cotton percale sheets, and they were lovely and crisp and cool. I slept well and I feel rested. In a few minutes, I will get up and go to the Original Pancake House for an apple pancake. I'll end up bringing half of it home, because those things are gigantic. Then I have a day of light chores and movie watching planned. I'm sure I'll get a nap in there somewhere, too.

A little lonely this Sunday morning. Red left last Tuesday for Boston and won't be back until July 7th. So I am being lazy at least until the last 24hrs before she gets home. Very proud of the work she and her fellow Teacher Union members from across the US are doing. They never give up fighting for our children and working on making all of our public schools better.

Good Morning Eveyone :)

Today I woke up just in time to let in last of cool morning air, kick on AC before temp began to climb. Found all three pieces of my slow cooker, and yesterday my oldest surprised me with the gift of a microwave. No more cooking in the oven or fixing an entire meal stove top during all this heat. :) I'm making peanut chicken and vegetables in the slow cooker and have finished a pot of rice. That way later when the chicken is done I can just zap the rice in the microwave and enjoy a nice hot meal. In the meantime I've cleaned the kitchen, picked up the apartment and started some laundry. When the laundry is finished I'll hang it over the bathtub till almost dry so later when it's cooler I can toss it in the dryer for a few minutes to finish it up/take all the stiffness out. I don't mind crunchy towels but scratchy clothes, not so much. :) It's now around 10am and with Monte fed and napping, and all my chores out of the way I'm going to play on BFP for awhile, later work on some crafts (if I can manage to avoid needing to nap), then tonight watch some videos which I haven't done in awhile. Oh and thanks to the new microwave, watch them to the tune of popcorn :) - yeah!

Today I am going to do not much of anything except make a pretty birthday card for my mother's birthday (July 7th) and work on putting together a bit of correspondence and mailing both projects out, tomorrow.

I will most likely make something scrumptious to eat, and most likely read from a book I put aside earlier.

I slept late this morning. Then I got up and said goodbye to my friend who spent the night on the couch, and I went out to brunch with a different friend that I've known since college. We went to a place that makes really delicious grits - they use real cream in them. I couldn't drink my bloody mary because it was too painful on my tooth, though :( - oh well, if that's the worst thing that happens to me today, I can't complain.

I'm just barely getting started with my day, have yet to make breakfast. I'm outside with the two dogs and my caT..... We have pearly skies, but it won't last long because we have another week of crazy warm weather.

I have been busy canning all weekend. Tomato sauce, tomato chutney, pickled tomatoes and last but not least tomato salsa.All thanks to a guy at work that brought me a grocery sack full of cherry tomatoes.

We have welcomed some much needed rain. Red starts her new teaching job tomorrow as a Gifted and Talented teacher. Excited to see her accept the challenge. So the morning routine is back.

Good Morning & Happy Sunday .... today is an Strawberries and Angel Food Cake kind of day. We've got pearly skies, cooler temps and misting rain....and, later this morning, I'll be having brunch with a dear femme friend, who just happens to be in town this weekend. WE also got rain over nite...much needed as we set a record here in PNW with 55 days w/o rain.So untill the roads dry i,m laying low here and have football to watch! Ive already watered the plants and have a load of laundry going.Going to read sunday paper shortly.

BUT....no coffee.... so a trip to store is in order.

Woke up a little later than usual today. But then my body was really tired! Yesterday was one for infamy!

Had a cinnamon raisin English muffin with greek cream cheese & red raspberry preserves and a cup of strawberry greek yogurt.

Sun is out & will be another very warm day here.

I don't have anything special planned for today, other than rest and enjoy a new book, which was given to me by a very special someone.

Last night, I stayed up late reading from The Help (Kathryn Stockett, 2009). I came across an amazing section about Skeeter, where she received an reply back from a senior publishing editor, trying to find her first job as an recent college graduate. Elaine Stein said to Skeeter, and I quote: "Write about what disturbs you, particularly if it bothers no one else."

I SO resonate with that way of thinking and type writing. :stillheart:

In other news, *lol*, I came across two other worthwhile quotes to think upon:

"You must stay 'drunk' on writing so reality cannot destroy you" (Ray Bradbury).

And because it's nearly the advent of the Fall season, here's a beautiful thought for the day:

Hi all, it's Sunday and the island is a little gloomy... I listened to a really good meditation since I missed church due to sleeping in... then I decided to make it a "me" day...

So I've done some self care, facial, deep conditioner to my hair, long shower, a bit of laundry, replaced the toner in my printer, updated some files and apps...made some "sopa" with chicken and pasta for the family and now watching movies and playing on here. I've been busy doing me today...

I did stay in bed longer than I usually do but once I was up, I was up!

It has been a lovely Sunday. Spent sometime in bed just reading and relaxing. Then woke up, got semi ready.
Listened to some lovely Sunday morning Jazz as I made vanilla cinammon pancakes, three cheese omelette, fresh fruit salad, and brewed some Black chai roobois tea with steamed milk.

Enjoyed brunch with my parents and sister.
Preparing ceviche for dinner.

This Sunday has been enjoyed in many ways....

The sun has been shining for a few days! It's a beautiful thing to see blue skies. I hear there is a rumor of a cold front. Imagine that, all the way to Texas! It's going to bring a morning temp under 60 degrees. I'm hoping to have that this week.

I put the garden back together. I had brought all the plants in. You know, there is no glue that holds shells on my outdoor wreath! This humidity plays havoc on it. The shells just randomly fall off.

It's been movies and handwork on a quilt I'm finishing up. There was even a real drive thru hamburger enjoyed today!!!

I hope everyone has a good week and maybe a short week to some!
