I saw a friend writing out a postcard the other day, and she shared with me a really neat idea. Her, her friends and family were all sending postcards to another family member in the weeks leading up to his birthday. In her case, all of their postcards contained old or funny images of the birthday person along with a note about a memory, the caption, or general bday wishes.

I thought that sounded like such a sweet sentiment...

So, I was wondering....even though you don't know my daughter, her birthday is coming up in a couple weeks. Would anyone sending me a card during the next couple weeks address it to the birthday girl (Katie) and say happy birthday? I think she would be tickled not only to get mail, but also to acknowledge her day.

Just a thought - thanks postcard peeps for inspiration!

Well, Wil she's grown a bit since you saw her last. Although she's still super girly and loves music, reading, and things like faeries and butterflies. She's this interesting mix of strong-willed social justice minded pre-teen and foo-foo.

Oh, I almost forgot: he bday party theme is under the ocean, and I have strict instructions NOT to include the little mermaid. Ha.

guess i'm gonna have to get creative, huh?

thinking maybe a series of postcards that make a larger image if put together? that sound like something she'd like? kind of an easy puzzle.
