Thanks for the dare Turtle...interestingly enough yesterday I wrote one of my nieces (the eldest one I have), a letter sharing with her exactly what she means to me, what a great mom she has been and now grandmother, what a solid friend she is to her friends, and how very proud I am of her for not just surviving but thriving some difficult challenges...As I sit here sunburned yes I was out on the water for hours, I haven't mailed it to her yet, but will tomorrow.

So, your dare is not difficult for me except when it comes to the planet...this is how I will do this, and hope that they don't get the wrong idea, I'll pm two planet people whom I admire for one reason and another and well, we'll see.

Yes, I'll admit that I was a bit nervous about it...but as I wrote I found myself really enjoying sharing what I liked about them.

Both responded with the clear-eyed warmth that, I'm not exaggerating, left me speechless.

Before anyone asks let me say now that I am not revealing who they are to respect their boundaries. Unless they tell me different my lips are sealed...smiling.

sorry for the delay, spent the weekend in detroit and wasn't on the computer as much as i thought i'd be!

i'm in a v relationship. i have one partner whom i've been with for about 7 years (r.) and one who i've been with for a year (c.). both relationships were close distance to begin with and are currently long distance, as they're in the process of moving to where i live now. both relationships are long-term and deeply committed - r. and i have lived together in the past, and we are all planning to move in together once everyone is in the same place. c. is definitely moving in the next 6 months; r.'s situation is more up in the air.

re: how's it working...the long distance has strained things a bit and may actually mean that the structure of my relationship with r. might change. things are working really well, though i think there might be a bit of growing pains if i were to introduce a new person but overall i feel really good about things. it's just frustrating waiting - c.'s really having a rough time where he is right now so we're all just ready for him to be in kansas.

i didn't plan for things to work out this way - i didn't enter into polyamory wanting any specific kind of arrangement, and i still don't - i'd be open to other styles in the future. it's just accidentally worked out like an episode of sister husbands or something and it works pretty well for us.
