And from what I can remember, there's no fabric in there, just a few straps so it can be more firmly attached, but remember, these are pretty archaic laws! I've never known of a pregnant woman actually asking to do this in recent times...

By 1810, Beethoven was complete deaf. Though he stopped performing, he still composed. He would shred the strings of the piano from banging so hard on the keys in order to hear. He finally took the legs off of one piano, so that he could feel the vibrations of the piano on the wood floor.
