My mind immediately started racing towards thoughts of a prospective wedding, pre-nupital agreements and whether or not we'd start a family with children or, rather, with cats (I understand that litter training cats is easier and less stressful than potty training kids so I favour the cats option). I tend to be a quick mover and don't really do all the flirting and dating stuff as I'd rather watch baseball.


And then I looked at the comment again. I had misread it as "adorable" when it actually said "adorkable". In a second, my ego and vanity was crushed. I had always hoped to be some sort of sex idol or such like .... but, in fact, I'm incredibly dorkish. That's surprising as, whilst I'm socially inept, I can't even properly work my iPhone.


That said, I'll need to try to use this dorkish image to my advantage i.e. if I meet a really nice femme, I can now try to chat her up by saying that, although I mightn't be great in bed, I'd be happy to try to fix her hard drive. Anyone think that could work?

Hey, it is nice to find out that, even if you are already in a relationship with someone else, that someone has a crush on you. That someone admires you, and thinks you are pretty cool.

I wrote once in this thread about how I had small crushes on some here in the Planet, even though I am madly-in-love with someone else. I have fellow-Femme crushes, and crushes on some of the Butches here too. I admire their writing, their energy, their style. I enjoy hanging out with the local ones, love meeting up with others when I travel or at the Reunion.

Those crushes have no bearing on my relationship with my gf. They just enrich me in this world.

And Ciaran, I adore the "adorkable" tag you were given! As someone who is very non-tech-able, I have great respect and awe at those who know their way around a hard drive! *grinning*

Although unhappy with the dork image I've now been attached with here, it's slightly better to be thought of as a dork than a serial killer. Dorks tend to wear nicer jumpers and having seen attractive girls flocking around all the nerds in an Apple store recently, maybe it is an image worth cultivating after all even if I don't know my floppy from my hard drive nor what sort of size works best.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. As you may know... you can chat with someone for years, and have a picture and idea in your mind as to who they are, only to meet them and be completely surprised.

Like Sleepy Butch I carried a crush for her but never had the courage to tell her but I found reasons to be around her and we developed a good friendship. Yes butches and femmes can be friends. lol Then one day I got a text from her that absolutely made me sit down and read it like 5 times to make sure I was not seeing things. "Hi and why don't you flirt with me btw". FYI femmes sometimes you have to hit us with a 2x4 for us to figure out your crushing on us. From that second on I concentrated on only her and by doing so I was rewarded with the best relationship I have ever had. Simply because she sees ME, All of Me. I still find at least one thing about her everyday that renews the crush making the actual relationship much stronger. There is communication and lust on both parts. This is a good thing because for me lust, communication, and crush feelings lead to one beautiful strong RT relationship. Oh and did I say she knows all about how I feel. :wine:

I don't know if it means she is crushing on you or not. However, I do know that, second only to the ability to cook an excellent lasagne, the willingness to do my laundry (and other housekeeping) is high on the list of what I look for in a lady.

I only take issue with this because me being such the lover of all things freshly stacked on the bed, and a proud domestic goddess, I would say your standard in seeking a spic-and-span oriented companion/housekeeper-with-benefits, may prove to be too narrow. We, the alluring head-of-household-type are a rare breed, but we do exist. You may want to broaden your scope, branch out a bit dear, explore their native habitat more closely, maybe? (Pack plenty of water...cologne is not suggested.)

Um. You've given me quite a lot to consider. Two things in particular. The first is what I'm looking for in a femme. Until now, I was under the impression that it was just sex appeal and highly skilled domestic abilities. Unfortunately, I now realise that I also need someone who can do the manual work and, importantly, protect me from bugs and insects and such like. For example, as a metrosexual, I cannot risk damaging my nails by helping to erect a tent or to carrying heavy loads. No way.

My ideal femme will hopefully do all of that stuff .... I don't believe in rigid gender sterotypes where the "guy" does all the heavy work and the "girl" does all the other chores. I'm simply happy for the girl to do all of it.

Not to sound rude to anyone posting, but I'd like to know about crushes here on the Planet.
Not to say that all crushes aren't good because they are.
It's just that there's another crush thread here where all I saw were pics of famous people being crushed on and no one was actually writing about honest crushes on people right here.
