I wear an initial ring that my father gave me.
It's become a trademark; people always ask me where I got it.
Once I lost it for 6 months and it about made me crazy.
I'm one of 3 people on earth without a tattoo.
When I move, I want an art room with 3 model airplanes from WWII suspended from the ceiling.
I have vertigo/height issues so bad I can't look out a glass elevator without
getting dizzy. Escalators go without saying....
(I think it stems from dad rocking the seat on the ferris wheel when I was little..)
I only get manicures and pedicures a few times a year, including today. My favorite color is OPI Hawaiian Orchid, a sheer pink neutral. I got married in it in 1985, and I haven't found a better color since.
The most relaxing thing I can think of is spending time in the woods. Love a cup of coffee on a breezy evening, sitting on the porch of a cabin.
I tried on my summer clothes today and found that some of them are fitting better than they did last year. Yay for Weight Watchers!
I have to get up at 4am so I can take a train to NYC. I hate the idea of getting up so early, and equally hate the idea of trying to sleep.
I'm going to eat a cup of low fat ice cream with cut up cake (no fat), blueberries, strawberries, and cool whip. All on the diet. Wahoo!
~ In the 7th grade, one of my classmates tapped me on the shoulder in English and told me I had put my dress on wrong~side~out.
I will never forget the embarrassment. It was white with pink polka~dots.
♦ in my mid teens...to appease my girl, I allowed acrylic nails on my left hand only, to make it "fun" she told me I should pick a fancy design for it...she suggested a cherry tree, I told her I'd happily scratch her to death if I got PINK anything...so...the manicurist suggested a "fire" type..which I liked  [i was 'in the closet' !!], however...it's a HUGE weakness of mine when a Femme wears 'em nowadays, the more elaborate, the quicker I'll act like a fly to blue light "so prettyyyyy -ZAP-" :rrose:.....
♦ since Im successfully raising a baby Sparrow {So far}, I'm considering a Sparrow tat *Alongside ferret Ink*....
♦ I try my best to be Gluten-Free, Organic, pescetarian, Locavore....Not because I'm allergic or an Animal Rights Fanatic{or stuck-up}....Mostly because it's Healthy, and Fresh, which pretty much means if I cant find it in any of the above categories, I wont go apeshit or wind up sick...Just disappointed.
♦ Like Jet, I have bad Vertigo...Glass elevators are a big No-No...I'll barf from such dizzyness....Escalators are ok, as long as I focus on my feet....Anything above 2nd floor will trigger dizziness, hypervent, and nausea...Oddly enuff aeroplanes dont do that...
{I honestly believe it started after I bungee Jumped on my 18th birthday....Watching the river fast approach, then thinking I'm gonna splatter against the Bridge can make a tough Butch cry....My cousin had fun with the video, I had nightmares :blink: }
♦ I refuse to enter "Haunted Houses" or FunHouses.... :passinggas:

1. Every person I have ever dated seriously and most everyone I've ever dated casually, I got to know 'online', right down to my very first boyfriend, when I was in high school. Though at that time 'online' was a local bulletin board reached via a dialup connection and only one person could be on the board at a time cuz it was run out of a guy's office. Also, back then, 'online' people often met in real life for regular "gt's" or "get-togethers". ;)
2. Speaking of meeting people online, I met my wife, not on a bf site, though we were both members, but via Neopets - a website designed for small children. This was a sign that we were off to an excellent start.
3. I'm both very open AND very shy (in person) which is an interesting combination because I am a terrible liar so when people ask me really personal questions, I tend to answer them truthfully and I can be bad at filtering. This is a good thing in that people usually know what I'm about and how close I am to them determines how much detail they get... but.. it can be a bit bad at times when I make myself too vulnerable to someone undeserving. Also.... it means I also embarass myself or get embarassed/shy easily and blush a lot.
4. When I first discovered the butch/femme online community, I used to get super tongue tied when any butch spoke to me at all - whether in chat or on the forums, though I'd have moments of bravery in those early days. I was absolutely drawn to and fascinated by the butches but seriously, knee-weak responses to like all of them! :) The first butch I met in person (before the online community actually), I tried to say hello, stammered instead, tripped and almost fell in their lap - then fled tearfully, soooo embarrassing!
5. One of the first butches that I ever made friends with (in a chat room at another bf site) is now my Unka, and I asked him to give me away at my wedding (and he was also Sparx's 'best man', we used the term 'honored attendant' I think). He was the best Unka of the Bride ever and he helped make it one of the best days of my life - something I will never ever forget.

When I lived in London and was homesick, I'd watch The Big Chill. "Where's Kim???" "Oh, watching The Big Chill." "Bloody h**. Okay, carry on."
My peonies, roses, and clematises are blooming and it makes me deliriously happy. I just wish the old man was here to see it.
I can't wait to golf again, it's worth it for the lessons alone.
Okay, it's hot watching him golf, too.
Four is my limit today, I'm shy. Oh wait, that's five - nevermind.
school is in session today...:bullwhip:

I wish I could be a philosopher and be paid to think and teach about thinking
I have studied Latin off and on for years (since high school and all through college) I have not picked up anything in Latin for about 6 months, I can feel the language receding from my mind and this makes me unhappy.
Sometimes when the people who are dearest to me are unhappy (as they are now) I feel like I need to hide my perpetual joy, it seems rude in the face of their sorrow
About 4 times a year I reorganize my closet, everything is sorted by type and color dark to light and by length long to short. Other than when I organize my closet I let it gradually go to hell only to be corrected in my quarterly rearrange.
I rarely carry a purse; I have a small pocketbook with my money and various cards and carry my lipstick in my pocket.
(Bonus answer, I tend to only buy pants and skirts with pockets, no pocket it better be stunning to come home with me)

My stomach growls like it's hungry every time I smell a skunk.
I'm afraid of heights but, spend some work days clipped into a lifeline anywhere from 20 to 90 feet off the ground, walking on 2 inch truss pipe.
I was a drummer in school.
I played soccer for 15 years (outdoor), refed outdoor and played indoor for 4 more after that.
My left shoulder is 1/3 surgical steel.
~ I was a drum major in high school.
~ I made All-State Choir (as an Alto) 3 years in high school. (My choir director told me I could have made it my freshman year, too, but I didn't audition. I was the first one to make ASC from my hs)
~ Leonard Bernstein called me "Janey Pie" because I baked him a pecan pie when I worked with him in Houston.
~ I wrote my first piece of lesbian erotica when I was pregnant with my first child and married to a man. Hormones? <giggling>
~ I burned that piece of erotica in the wood~burning stove.....out of guilt.

1. I went to a high school football game after a couple of beers. There was a cemetary up the hill from our stadium. As I was driving past it, a black cat jumped INTO my car. I yelled and tossed it back OUT of my car. Scared the bejeesus out of me.
2. Leonard Bernstein's death spurred a conversation in my first journalism class about euphamisms for death (which we're not allowed to use) ... you know, things like ...so and so "passed." After using a buch of them, we determined that the best one was "Jesus called."
3. I still have my 40th birthday cards out on my mantle ... two months later.
4. I'm sitting here watching Ron (Tater Salad) White. He's funny. So are Larry the Cable guy (Get 'er done!) , Bill (Here's your sign) Engvall and Jeff (You might be a Redneck) Foxworthy. I love good comedy.
5. I'm tired. Time to crash out.

Things about me that people may not know on here:
I'm actually not very outrageous, i rarely if ever pounce someone in real life :)
I come acrossed very self confident, but i'm not really, i just know how to sound as if i know what i'm talking about.
Inside i'm very delicate, i'm easily hurt and am quick to forgive.
I have pets, but i don't like having pets.
I am at the momment very happy to be single, and am not looking but I am a huge flirt. :)
Oh and i may be single but i has a crush on someone.... she's sweet....
She was talking about how she'd never marry her b/f -hehe - so i popped off at the mouth with.how about me... and she replied, anytime anywhere, just let me know -BLUSH- awww and as muich as i like her i will never date her.... i've lost too many friends that way.

I hate, loathe, and detest liver and onions and will send any I find to Diva and ALKiss. My aunt thought she could force me to eat it and did the whole "You're not leaving the table until you eat it" deal. I slept at the table that night and went without dinner, breakfast and lunch before my mom got home and chewed her out. Mom knew if I'd eaten it, I would have hurled, since I actually respected her enough to try it before and that's exactly what happened so liver and onions now tastes like onions, vomit and organ to me...not a good combo...hence the avoidance of it. I can't even smell it cooking without my gut seizing up.
I took Latin and Latin AP in high school, all four years. I can't remember much of it.
Accents. *swoon* That is all.
Every facet of my personality has been developed fairly well, so I easily shift from the quiet girl to the snarky bitch to the brat to the boss and so on and so forth. I lose a lot of people in conversations and/or confuse the crap out of them. Part of it's the Gemini thing, but I'm pretty sure it's the way I'd be no matter what sign I was born under/in.
I've been trying to eat the same damn apple for two days now. I keep leaving it for dessert or the last thing and then I get full before I get to it. I WILL eat it today, by George! :weightlifter:

*I do not own a television.
*All my sheets are white. Except for the flannel sheets. They can be a solid colour.
*I have a long, wide Victorian streak which causes me to use curious euphemisms for naughty acts.
*I'm allergic to lidocaine. It's the topical anaesthetic of choice in every emergency room. When I need stitches I must first convince nervous doctors that it will be just fine for them to stitch me up cold.
(I'm a professional sculptor. Accidents happen. Sometimes I just need stitches.)
I love strawberries and olives
I'm secretive
I'm hard to read in r/t
I don't like rum

I wholeheartedly agree with the vast majority of this post.
I'm not too picky about whether the reds I like are blue-based, though I do prefer a nice medium to dark blue over reds in general.
Jewel tones make me happy.
My mental skills are far superior to my physical skills in terms of creation, as well.
I don't wear the things you love not specifically for cultural appropriation, but because I don't look good in them. I might be a bit more superficial than you. :|

My favorite red lipstick is called Eternal Flame
I can't stand head banging, hard core, heavy metal, rock music
I've been told that my voice is lovely to hear (I'm a smoky alto)
I don't know what happened to me, but I used to be so extraverted and now I think I lean more toward the introverted side - I'm very shy, now.
My mother is known as an "Eagle eye" and I've learned a lot from her over the years. We had a terrible relationship at one time and now I don't know what I would do without her. She's one of my heros! Her birthday is in three days - she turns 71.

my favorite dress as a child was a turquoise dress with a white collar and cuffs and had shiny fake diamond buttons down the center. Now when I buy clothes, I buy the ones that make me feel like that dress felt when I was wearing it.
I love pickled eggs
There are two people I truly despise. And they deserve it.

I have been told I still have a Chicago accent despite not having lived there in 20 years. (I don't think I have an accent at all)
My laughter can be contagious.
I am a quiet person. I can literally go for days without talking to anyone.
I bought my first dress in about 7 years over the weekend.

The bulk of the friends I've had in my life have been work buddies. I'd probably have had no social life over the years if not for the, as that's the nature of the beast when you change papers every couple of years.
I'm trying to squeeze in a beach trip (even a day trip) in the next few weeks.
I'm really proud of my nephew and his music. He sang at church tonight, doing "Long Black Train" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain." I'm debating posting a link.
I've discovered that people REALLY have a problem with our government. Doing census work has been like pulling teeth.
My digital camera that I got for my birthday just three months ago isn't working. I'm very sad.
I hate Geico spots with a passion. Their agency needs to be fired and all
the juveniles along with it. If they call those idiotic spots creative, advertising has gone all to hell.
I don't smoke. (if i did, it would be a pipe)
I've been through things that would raise the hairs on the back of your neck.
I get comments on my hands more than anything else.
Spencer Tracy is my favorite actor.

I almost always (95% of the time) wear dark colors on my toes.
Nothing stays on my lips...not lipsticks, stains, long wear, etc.

I dislike the cold even more. If everywhere could just be like Key West with sunshine and cool breezes, I'd be set.

When I was a kid I wanted to create a miasma of mystery around me so I would try to always leave rooms when no one was watching, it drove my grandma nuts.
When I was a kid Late in the evening I would dress up and lurk by the side of the road whilst posed beautifully on various boulders and on trees, hoping that a driver would come along and the headlights would illuminate me and the driver would be haunted by the mysterious and tragic vision of my beauty for the rest of their days.
When I was very little I wanted to be a horse or a deer when I grew up
In my kid days I would dissect little dead animals I found using my junior science kit and microscope, I never understood why it creeped the other kids out
In the 2nd and 3rd grade I would dress as a mime (all in black and with the traditional white face) and not speak only well, mime, It drove Mrs. Schlandsburg (my 2nd grade teacher) NUTS but my grandma always let me

This is my first post here. I thought I'd post here as a way of introducing myself, so here goes...
I once won second place on an Olivia Halloween Cruise for my all-time favorite costume: "The little Dutch Boy who Stuck his Finger in the Dyke." The audience roared, and had they been the ones to vote, I'd have definitely taken first. The judges went for cute, half-naked femme over funny butch. (hell, I'd have voted for her too)
I was 6 feet tall as a freshman in high school after having shot up 6 inches in a year and a half -- so fast my bones hurt. Although I love my height, I don't think of myself as tall and am still somewhat surprised when people mention my height.
I always have salsa in the fridge and think that you can never have too much cilantro. Ever.
I usually think that I can do anything, whether or not I've actually ever done it before. I once talked my way into a job cooking for one of the top 10 restaurants in Boston, having never actually cooked in a restaurant in my life. It was an amazing experience (and a funny story, ask me about it sometime).
I'm extraordinarily lucky to have such an amazing family. Especially my Mom, who is an incredible loving and giving woman. I hear other's stories and honestly don't know how I got to be so fortunate, but thank the Universe often.
I'm looking forward to meeting some new friends here. Thanks for creating such a great community.

• I have a magazine addiction. I subscribe to more magazines than I can count, and don't have time to read them all.
• I have chronic plantar fasciitis in both feet, which means they hurt most of the time. Luckily, wearing heels is actually helpful for this condition!
• I have jars of sea glass all over my house.
• I love old houses, and even though my house is new construction, I still subscribe to Old House Journal. I frequently go to real estate open houses just to see the insides of old homes. (Note: attending such open houses can be dangerous... I recently fell head over heels in love with a house as I walked through it... *sigh*)
• I'm terrified of heights, to the point where I can get panicky if a movie I'm watching shows the actor's perspective as he looks over the side of a tall building...

2. I'm more gullible than I wish to be.....
3. I have an aversion to talking on the phone and prefer emails and
text messaging to voice calls...
4. I carry packages of Splenda, Wisps disposable tooth brushes, and an

5. I will have your back if you're my friend or lover, unless you mess with
my family. And then it's Family First...

I opt for laughter in life and really try not to take myself too seriously (life is too short for that crap).
I think compassion and education are the two salves that will heal the world, if only we'd give them a chance.
I love those posh, expensive, not-enough-food, Michelin starred restaurants...I try to visit a few new ones each year and I always learn something new about food and flavors I'd never imagined. Then I try to recreate them at home (I will be honest and admit my failures slighty outweight my successes :| )
I'm graceful when I dance, but the rest of the time I'm somewhat clumsy. Walls and I meet too often. Gravity and I disagree frequently. It's when I catch myself apologizing to the wall that I know I'm having a bad day. LOL.
My largest phobia in life is needles. My therapist and I are working very hard at helping me overcome it as it's paralyzed me for my entire life and my health suffers for it. So yeah...needles and Laerkin = tears, but I'm trying to get better.

• I love, love, love rollercoasters. LOVE. Which, I realize, is in contradiction to my fear of heights. *shrugs*
• I hate trying things on in stores, so I usually just buy stuff then return it if it doesn't fit.
• My house is generally neat as a pin, but my office looks like a disaster area.
• I wear a pink shirt to work every Tuesday. Actually, everyone who works with me wears a pink shirt on Tuesdays. It's always fun to see the customers looking around, puzzled...
• I love playing card games.

- I like to wander on long walks out in the woods
- I love sweaters of all kinds, but mostly I like sweaters that have either a crew neck or a deep plunging v-neck; and in shades of white, blue, charcoal grey or black as a solid color or with varying shades of colors - Like I have a cashmere sweater in varying shades of purples, greys and blues and it's beautiful!
- I love to eat anything that has dates, coconuts and walnuts!
Add chocolate to it and I'm hooked for life! *yum*
- I bought some pomegranate/tangerine sherbert today (pineapple sherbert is my favorite) and it tastes absoluely yummy!
- I love to go for long bicycle rides: I always like the way I feel so free when I'm doing that...

- I always have a million-squillion back-up plans in case my current plan of the moment isn't working out the way I would like to see it play out.
- I tend to have a curiousity driven side to my personality: I'm always wondering and daydreaming and trying to come up with a feasible plan of action.
- I don't give two flying flips if I ever see a doctor for care or treatment or have health insurance: I've been without medical care for so long that I believe that the alternative treatments I find to help myself are working just fine (even if society doesn't think it's proper- I'm gonna do what I have to do to take care of me and so far, it's working just fine; it's about quality of life issues for me, seriously).
- It doesn't matter to me what type of shoes I wear because I'm pretty talented at making my feet take me wherever I need to go and I usually end up where I'm supposed to be anyway, LOL!
- I don't think of myself as a too bright or too intellectual or too smart for my own good: I do possess some talent, some intuitive intellect but for the most part, I tend to take life slowly and what I don't understand and am not able to find solutions (for current dilemmas), I do tend to defer to alternative knowledge sources to help me figure out what to do next - if that makes sense at all.

I think traveling alone for long trips is one of the most liberating and empowering experiences a person can have.
I hate anything bubble gum flavored.
I'm seriously allergic to East Coast mosquitoes which limits what I can do outdoors in the spring and summer. (Yes, they're different than West Coast mosquitoes like the ones I grew up with.)
I've been written up at work for laughing too loud (god forbid I have too much fun)!
I cry whenever I think about or see homeless pets, even if I'm at a no-kill adoption center...I want to save them all and will cry myself to sleep over it.
I hate clowns (except for Emmet Kelly)
I like rainy nights in Georgia
I used to collect Stephen King in hardback (and since tossed them)
German wines are my favorites

I am suspicious about almost everyone. I never was this way until recently. Before, I trusted long before I should have. This resulted in my suspiciousness.
The one person in my life that I will have to bare my soul and all my sins to, my AA sponsor, I had no suspicions about. She is the only person in the last few years that I instantly trusted. Goddess spoke. I listened.
I abuse the inside of my car. I have hauled wet plants on my leather seats. Sick dogs have thrown up on them. All my fast food wrappers (I rarely eat FF but when I do...) are on the back floor and all my pop cans are on the front floor.
I had a dream about a mirror, that when you look into it, it can morph your face into an animals face. It is intended for children to play with. I even have the design details and how it works given to me in the dream. Isnt this odd and wild and fun?
I sleep on my couch because my old dog can no longer climb the stairs. She cries when I have made her do this. She will never be asked to do it again. I will sleep downstairs until she passes...

If I read something technical or logical once, I have a weirdly incredible memory. I can remember screens and keyboard shortcuts in software programs from 10 years ago. Names and faces however, not so much. I have been known to see someone I spent a full day with a couple of years ago and would swear to you that I had never seen them before in my life. It's really quite embarrassing.
I once had a job where I took my cat with me to work every day. She usually slept out in the main area where there was a patch of sun and everybody would pass by. I was secretly a little jealous that she had more friends there than I did.
I count 5 things before I leave the house every morning. Keys, wallet, phone, glasses, ring. If I don't, I will invariably leave without one of them.

Four, it so happens, is my favorite number.

Some months later, I am the one going thru it and sorting it out and getting rid of things one way or another. Painless for her. I was on an Olivia cruise where they were shooting the L Word. I've been obsessed the last few months with finding out about my parent's past. They never spoke about where they were during the Holocaust, and I've made it my mission to retrieve as much information as I can. On that note, I am patient, but not all the time. My patience depends on what I am waiting for. For the most part, I am more patient than not, and that seems to amaze some people.

2. I have some of the best friends in the world. The truly rock.
3. It's 74 and breezy outside. Not used to that in August.

You will never see me on roller skates, roller blades or ice skates... (just imagine what a duck or horse looks like on those darn things!)
I was once a very avid mountain biker (before back injury) and have AMAZING calf & leg muscles & ass cheeks to prove it. I love my "cut" calf muscles. (note to self: MUST tone up those muscles so I can keep them lookin' damn sexy)
I HATE onions!!! It gets on my nerves when everyone always gives me a hard time about hating onions.
When completely alone (and no fear of neighbors or peeping toms) I love to run around the house with very little clothes on.... and after my chest surgery, I HATE to wear bras (because of the scars and because I CAN get away without one! *note to my sister...I know you hate having "fried eggs", but DAMN it's so much better than the weight I carried for years...plus, they look great "perky"!)
A very long time ago, when my apartment didn't have AC and I was lounging in my living room "in the buff", I caught a peeping tom (someone who was later found to be a neighborhood predator/stalker of young women when they were home alone) on my front deck...then the neighbors had to call the cops on ME to keep me from beating him to a pulp and having him pinned to the ground with his arm twisted behind his back before they got there. (he walked with a limp for a long time after that)

- I gave up wearing traditional perfumes, years ago (propellant agents in them set off my allergies). Instead, I prefer to wear escential oils - I have worn "Dragons Blood" for years; and on ocassion, I like the scent of "Y'Lang Y'Lang & Jasmine" - both scents are custom made, signature fragrances that I purchase at a woman owned business in Portland - down in the Hawthorne Dist. (link) (http://store.escentialonline.com/dragons-blood-perfume-oil-c778.aspx)
- I've been walking daily now for a couple of weeks: Walking more than I have in the past and I have lost some weight (about 7 pounds, so far). I walk about 5 miles (or more) and I drink at least 2 Qts of water a day and about a quart of electrolytes when I am doing my walking routine.
- I like apples (3x/dy). I placed an order for a box of winesap apples from the farmers market this evening and can hardly wait until they get here! They are my favorite apple! They are crisp and succulent - I think they taste like the perfect slice of apple pie. Not too tart and they are perfectly sweet! *yum*
- I want to trim my hair very carefully and I was going to do it today (just like I was going to wax my kitchen floor) - but I am waiting to do it tomorrow because I ended up sleeping a lot today. My plan is to wash my hair first, let it air dry, trim it, then wash my hair again: My floor waxing method is similar - wash it, let it dry, wax it, let it dry. <G>
- I like the way my sheets and blankets smell after I have washed them and let them dry on the clothesline outside... I also like how crisp and clean they feel, too!

I suffer from allergies all year long. Allergy meds don't help 100%, but it's saved me from getting severely sick for the last several+ years.
I'm not a big fan of onions. I "kind of" like them on some things, but they give me heartburn from hell. I do like how they smell when they're being cooked. On that note, there are many things that smell great when they're being cooked, but I don't like how they taste. I tend to think something's amiss between my nose, brain and taste buds.
Even though I don't like to eat certain things, I'll make them for Mare because I know She likes them. I'll just "pick them off" or make sure She gets double portions.
I've always been a little claustrophobic, but I think it's getting a bit worse with age. While we were vacationing in Myrtle Beach, the closed water slide freaked me out more than it normally would. What a #*@$&^ bummer.
I enjoy traveling and enjoy the fact that I've been doing more of it recently. We're planning another trip and I am stoked.

1. I am petrified of dating again. I seriously get nauseated and extremely anxious when someone shows interest. Just when I thought I had it all worked through, it has come back again, more severe than it had been in the past. 2. I collect Johnny West toys by Marx. I used to play with them when I was little and pretend I was one of the cowboys on the horse.
3. I am very nostalgic. (see #1 and #2). laughs.
4. I love My family with all My heart and would do anything for them. Especially My Mom.
5. I have been likened to an onion and a porcupine. The onion for the layers, the porcupine for My (sometimes) grumpy nature. However, once you get to know Me and take the time to get through the quills and delve into the layers, I believe you will find it was a worthwhile journey.

1. Sometimes I miss little intricacies in relationships, like picking up on the fact that sometimes people DO want you to pry a little when they answer a question I figure they will tell me if they want to tell me and move on, sometimes resulting in hurt feelings on their part and confusion on mine.
2. If left to my own devices I believe I would end up being a hermit. Not because I don't love my friends but because by the time I looked up and noticed I wanted to be around people, the relationships would have withered from lack of cultivation. This is why I schedule things on my calendar like "call friends"
3. When I changed fields from being a health care compliance auditor to a professor I had a hard time with deciding how to act at work with colleagues. I have made a chart that shows what is considered "socially appropriate behavior" and I work it like a formula. Again if left to my own devices I would ignore them and be viewed as weird and socially inept which would not only make me feel awkward (as I have no ill will toward them) but also hurt my promotion opportunities thus my financial opportunities.
4. Apparently I am good at being social at work because I am generally well liked and people think I am outgoing and gregarious. I wonder if they would think the same if they knew I had to create a formula to do it.
5. When I was a young adult,I became obsessed with 'normal' and read about social interactions, manners, proxemics, culture and psychology to figure out how to relate to people. When in doubt I default to manners and what is studied to be culturally appropriate, it usually works

I don't. When I was younger, I wrote in journals all the time and played around with poetry. I have two poems published but couldnt tell you where now. One was a story that my uncle used to tell me when I was a kid and the other...I wrote a poem for a girl, somehow got it published and presented her with the book. I am so bored as a reader. My daughter has been pushing the book The Story of B on me and wont bring me others until I finish this one (control issues...oh yeah....) and I cant get out. I seriously need some books to read!
I have yet to repaint my toenails or shave my legs since before I went in for surgery. I just cant bend. AND I have discovered its not the end of the world
I have developed Restless Leg Syndrome so bad it wakes me up.
I am getting a new dog tomorrow. Long Story. His name is Sammie and he is a shetland sheepdog.

I love this thread because I like to share things about myself and connect to other people.
I'm a bigger picture person, but it's a challenge for me to be disciplined about the details. Being honest about this in a job interview probably cost me the job. I shouldn't have taken that allergy medicine!
I watch HGTV way too much.
I routinely sleep too late in the morning and spend too much time on the computer at night. I don't get enough done, as a result.
You would know me to be a rather quiet person. But not shy or unsociable. A little too worried about others.

Word to these three. I have more Moleskine notebooks than I know what to do with. I started writing in them after my first long term/live in relationship went bust. I went through them like hotcakes. Usually I write like mad when there's something troubling me or I'm doing a lot of travel. I'm trying to do more writing when I'm happy. Cause frankly, I haven't written a damn thing in more than two months and I feel like I should be chronicling the good, not just the bad.

3. I steadfastly refuse to shorten or use abbreviation for Christmas
4. I'm about to be an Auntie. My best friends are having a baby and I cannot wait to spoil that boy rotten. :)
5. I'll be sleeping in Charles De Gaulle airport later this week. I'm hoping for a great story out of it.

• I once got a concussion (playing rugby) so bad, that I “woke up” twenty minutes later not knowing where I was, who I was, or even knowing what my personality was like. I have to say that this was the scariest moment of my life.
• I still don’t have much memory from that day, only snippets that have no order to them. However, one snippet of memory was of me being half out of my body and being able to see myself on the field right after the hit, and knowing that if I got up and tried to continue playing that I would die. Apparently, I just got up and wandered the field for a bit. (no memory of that)
• I can chug a beer FAST. In my twenties, I would go out with my friends and they’d find the biggest, most macho guy in the bar and bet them $20 that they couldn’t beat me. One night, I made $120 bucks, and I never lost a race. I also knew when to quit, lol.
• When I was little, I’d sneak into my parents bathroom and put my Dad’s shaving cream on my face in the shape of a beard and mustache. Then I would pretend to shave it off. I thought I looked so much better with a (white foamy) mustache and goatee.
• Apparently I tried it with ice cream too.

1. I almost always tear up during movie previews, the loud swelling dramatic music does it to me every time. This embarrasses and irritates me. This especially embarrasses and irritates me when the music is to something stupid like a an animated movie about guinea pigs or some pedestrian cookie cutter action adventure preview.
2 I can feel music in my body, physically. Back in my wild youth I went to raves, I used to love going up to the the HUGE speakers and pressing against them with my heels, pelvis, spine, shoulder blades, elbows and head so that the bass would vibrate through my skeleton. It felt like I was getting a massage. Also, I feel organ music in the soles of my feet and my aorta.
3. For as much as I LOVE loud bass driven music to dance to and to wash through my body I cannot stand loud noises and loud places- it hurts me.
Fortunately I am mostly deaf in one ear and this saves me from being bothered more than I already am. I am grateful for the muting it provides.
4. I see pictures, shapes and colors when I hear music.
5. I have what can best be described as dancegasms. When my movement the music and my mind all come together into a sensual enthusiastic euphoria that makes me feel enlightened and captured utterly in the moment of sensual bliss.

I really hate circus peanuts but my mother loved them so I have a sacred memory bank related to them...and smile everytime I hear about Gemme and her cravings...
I miss being able to ride a back. With my health issues, I havent been able to ride a bike for years. However recently I saw a three wheel bike and think I might be able to handle it!
I want a simple every day pearl necklace. And yes, I would wear it every day.
I love slow dancing and next partner, I want to make sure we get a chance to go dancing often. I hate other forms of dancing but oh, can there be anything so simple yet so intimate publicly one couple can do?
