I'm not going to pretend I made this up but I've always thought it's a great thread idea to tell a bit about oneself and learn about others too.
I'll go first:
(1.) I'm not the spontaneous type, if it's not planned ahead I probably won't be doing it.
(2.) I'm quieter in person then I probably appear to be in forums.
(3.) I do have a very bent and slightly dark humor bone, but do try to refrain in mixed company.
(4.) I'm very loyal where deserved, but if you truely wrong me it's probably a one strike deal.
(5.) I've been an artist all my life and can't imagine a life w/o it.
(oh... and a bonus shocker.... I'm queer... ;))
Have fun!

5. I think all spaghetti sauce needs more balsamic vinegar and, more than likely, a good dash of Tabasco.

Wolfy thank you so much for your kind words:) , I honestly appreciate your friendship for all this years . You were always nice to me without any agenda and you never cared if your friends like me or not . What was pissing me off most when people were sending me PM's , but in public they were acting like they didn't know me .
What really got me laughing and said enough when a member that knew me in person started spreading a rumors that I am actually male transgendered to female ( not that I have something against it ) , but how much more lies you need to spread for your own insecurity ? I simply do not need this in my life .
Anyway, it's in my past and I am happy that I find you here . I will PM you my land line since I am not sure if my number it's the same and we can hopefully reconnect again .
thanks again
hugs to ya

I have been in ICU a half dozen times with something so rare I was written up in the American Journal of Medicine
I like to suck the juice out of a pickle straight from the jar everyday
I am Macedonian
I have had at least a dozen different careers including but not limited to teaching a sexual alternative class at our local university

I will only drink lemon or grape gatorade.
I only sleep well if my g/f is curled tightly around me.
After a 10 year cooking strike I am enjoying cooking again.
I've hung all of our Christmas cards on our bathroom door, so we can look at them when we wake up in the morning.
I own a tv, and have cable, but don't watch it, and rarely turn it on.

* I can't cut in or draw a straight line. Nope. Just can't. And, yes, the cantaloupe pieces always look funny at my house.
* When I find grammatical errors after I post, I wig...for just a few moments
* I am a complete, non-recovering bibliophile
* I make the best homemade chocolate-chip cookies
* I hate traveling down stairs in a stadium (but going up is okay)
two more for the road:
* Anyone's snoring always highly annoyed me (especially since I'm a light-sleeper)--but my Sweetie's snoring makes me comfy and sleepy
* Dusting is my least favorite domestic chore--it's for the birds!

* my little sister lives in Korea and has for about 5 years. I've seen her twice since she moved there.
* I have worked many different types of jobs since I was 16 years old. a couple years ago I was making double plus what I am currently making. Gotta love the economy right now.
* I love when my Daddy leaves me notes with things to do/how to cook a dinner I have never made/or how proud she is of me for doing things she asks. It makes me very happy. I also love leaving notes for her before I leave for work in the mornings telling her how much i'll miss her and thank you's for all she does for me. I love that we do that. xoxo

I like to suck the juice out of a pickle straight from the jar everyday
I also love pickle juice, although I don't drink it every single day. Claussen's is the best, imo.
I drink the leftover juice when I eat canned beets too. It's a blend of beet juice and white vinegar.
I'm the only one in my current household that eats cranberry sauce. I LOVE it!!!
My boss and I will be eating Christmas dinner together since we'll be working Friday night. Christmas at work will be vegetarian! I'm kinda excited about that.
This Christmas, though my honey and I aren't physically together, is one of my top 5 favorite Christmases thus far.

I have written poetry since High School and also have written a lesbian ficiton novel none of which has been or will be published.
I have this quirky thing about the toilet paper. When I use it, the squares have to be torn off evenly on the perf and if there is no perf, I will crease it and tear it until it is perfect. (very OCD, I know)
I used to paint in oil but gave it up for photography which is probably my very favorite thing to do.
At age 40, I totally remade my life which included throwing away my jeans, selling my Harley, stopped drinking and smoking weed and finding a different job. I called it my mid life crisis, kind of the opposite of what most people do in that situation.
I collect weird things like vintage toys, aluminum christmas trees and postcards of trailer parks and trailers.

I am left handed
I won a state wide basketball competition when I was in highscool. I made 42 free throws in a row.
My hand writing is REALLY bad.
My dad and I conspired to throw an egg toss game so another girl and her father could win. It was my last year in YMCA Indian Princess program. I still have my bear claws and headdress. I still know that girl.
I abandoned somebody out of fear when I was young. Biggest mistake of my life!! I am committed to not making that mistake ever again!!
1. I often wake up early, and go back to sleep after an hour or so. I wish I could sleep through the night.
2. I want to go to Disneyworld in the worst way.
3. I almost called 911 on the paper delivery guy the other morning. There had been a series of break-ins, and, when I heard him on the porch, I first thought he was an intruder. Thankfully, I was too shaken to even dial 9-1-1.
4. We have five cats, which I think is too many. I love them all, but I get embarrassed telling people.
5. I think I could eat cereal for every meal. Especially the ones that are so sugary, I wouldn't feed them to my kids.

2. I'm looking forward to my 30th birthday--in New Orleans with my sweetie.
3. I have published both poetry and porn.
4. I am "sensitive" but I'm (finally) learning to be unapologetic about telling others how I feel.
5. I can't watch skeery movies alone (but I like them if they're not gorey). And, I'm likely to crawl in your lap if you're near me on the couch.

2. My job as a sportswriter has afforded me the opportunity to travel all across the U.S. (and even to Canada once).
3. I'm a big flirt.
4. I'm totally addicted to CSI:NY. I particularly like Melina Kanakaredes, and when my roomie and I talk about watching it late night after work, we always call it "time for a Melina marathon."
5. I was also a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. I still collect stuff from it and have all 7 seasons on DVD.

I am a morning person. I could easily live in the woods with very little. I dream about it all the time.
There is a book, "The Last American Man", I read it and fantasied about heading off into the wild and just surviving or with very little. Then the reality of winter hits and you realize how cruel mother earth/nature can be sometimes.
4- Most people don't know what a self sufficient woman I am. I am a great outdoors woman and can cook or do almost anything outdoors.
5- I cry everytime I see a SPCA or Humane Society commercial.
~ I hoard books.

*I have glaucoma
*I love to wear mismatched t-shirts and boxers to bed
*I would much rather live at the beach
*I love disco music & to dance to that
*I have to write down everything and I mean everything
Let's see...
(1.) I love cold spaghetti for breakfast... or pizza... (but usually eat fairly classic breakfasts)
(2.) I'm very laid back and easy going in real life... not sure I come off that way online and probably read as far more critical than I ever could manage to work up for real.
(3.) I pretty much raised myself from the age of 12 on up because my mom had her own issues and my brother's a severe drug addict... my father had a different family by around then.
(4.) I'm very private and have trust issues, I'm trying to look at why... the problem is I don't have to look hard, and thus wonder if I should even change that... yet I still desire to.
(5.) On a lighter note... my favorite clothes are a comfy pair of well loved blue jeans.

1. I still have my Barbie doll collection from when I was younger, they are going to be divided equally and given to my two nieces.
2. That I collect postcards and my favorite one is from St. Jean de Monts in Southern France, it was sent to me by a good friend.
3. That I love my friends like they are my family.
4. That I am the first person in my family to graduate from College.
5. I don't trust easy, and if you mess me over, watch out.

I'm timid of escalators and have to *time it* to get on a step perfectly.
I love cold fried chicken wings for breakfast - although I usually eat typical breakfast fare.
I rarely drink milk unless it's whole (full fat version) or chocolate.
Procrastination is one of my biggest faults.
The light on the street lampost outside my bedroom has been out for weeks and is the only one on the street that doesn't work.

1. Me too, I'm a little afraid of escalators. I worry about tripping and falling, and sometimes it takes me a few seconds to make sure I'm OK.
2. I think it's related to the fact that I have depth perception problems because I don't have "binocular" vision. One eye is nearsighted and one is farsighted, so I really don't use both at the same time.
3. It is for this reason, at least in part, that I was so terrible at sports, and I was always picked last in gym and at camp. boo hoo
4. I still have a bit of a "complex" (I'm neurotic...) about being liked and accepted. Certain situations trigger it. Otherwise, I am fierce and confident.
5. I have made a number of resolutions involving improving my health, and it seems very important to honor those resolutions. I am going to be 50 this year, and I sometimes feel older than my own parents.

3. I keep chopsticks, dog treats, and coffee in my desk at work at all times.
4. I have someone really special in my life who barely does email and doesn't do forums or other online communities at all.
5. I like reptiles, especially snakes and geckos. It makes me angry when someone kills a snake merely for existing. Not many things make me angry, but wanton killing is around the top of the list.

1. I am irrationally afraid of non domesticated rodents, bats, and poisonous snakes and spiders. Other than the fears listed I love all animals and have had mice and hamsters for pets and currently have an albino corn snake as a pet.
2. I battled anorexia and my self image in high school. I have traveled very far from that place. I no longer allow myself to intentionally starve and learned how to let food be a small part of life not a big part or the center of my life. I still have irrational and low self esteem and avoid looking at my body to prevent the past from recurring.
3. I play the flute and have always listened to classical music. My favorite composer is Mozart and I love Ammadeus the movie. Didnt care about accuracies.
4. I have been depressed for too long and its not easy for me to be positive and hopeful. I work very hard at it.
5. I can accept and love anyone, flaws included, forgive and give multiple chances for any mistake made. But lying and deciet will cause me to become paranoid and is the fastest way to lose me, friend or family or lover. Because I am so accepting and loving it makes it impossible for me to overlook it. There are no reasons to fear being honest with me. So once the lying happens, I need that trust rebuilt and efforts made to believe that person again.
* Watching people climb ladders makes my feet sweat.
Ok.....this made me snort milk outta my nose.
1. I play the flute, too. I used to think I was really good, but now I know that I'm not. I played for a while in a community orchestra, and might do that again some day.
2. Although I'm an emotional, sensitive person, I see no reason to argue bitterly, raise voices, or slide into irrational behavior when disagreeing in a relationship. When that does happen, it takes a piece of me.
3. I would like to lose weight and get into better shape before my 50th birthday in August. I *always* wait until the last minute....
4. I feel better when my children are with me. Even at 17 and 22.
5. If I could, I'd move to PA to be closer to family. I don't see that happening while my daughter is still in school and getting services from local agencies.
I admire talent in others more than anything.
I wanted to be a screenwriter; it will never happen.
I've had a "one-in-about-500,000,000" experience that I survived but shouldn't have.

My stomach hurts from laughing so hard last night.
I hate when people get upset with me because I don't invite them to game night at my house. If I invited everyone I knew, we wouldn't be able to play games. Get over it, we might hang out in the club, but we ain't that tight.

1. I am very much the Gemini (not so difficult to see) in that I have a very lighthearted, happy side (again, not so difficult to see) but I also have a very deep, dark side that most people don't see. That is not by chance, either. I don't like having it, so I know others won't like seeing it.
2. Until recently, I was somewhat obsessed with NOT becoming my mother. For those that don't know, my mom was a paranoid schizophrenic. Thankfully, due (in part) to my fascination with shows like House, ER, Mercy...etc....I have come to learn (and more importantly, accept) that the older I get, the likelihood that I will develop the condition diminishes. It wouldn't be so bad for me, I suppose, but the remainder of my family would be devastated.
3. I struggle with S.A.D. and find myself very frustrated with those that cannot grasp the concept and/or don't take the time to try to understand the significance it has on my life not only in general, but especially this time of year.
4. I have no patience for those that have no patience for me. Hypocritical? Yes. Apologies? None.
5. Drunk people, especially men and very masculine members of our community, simultaneously annoy and terrify me. This has increased with age. As a child and up to around age 12, I could drink anyone under the table without getting drunk myself (and did). I've actually never been drunk. I had no issues with going to bars and events where alcohol flowed easily in my early 20s but now that I am in my mid-thirties...I tend to purposely avoid places where I know there will be alcohol or go with a group of trusted people, but even in that case....I don't like it.

At the moment there are 65 jars tucked away in the cupboard (okay, okay there might be another dozen up there)...the other day I went into a store which often has it...I got a gut feeling, but I steeled myself against temptation....I turned the corner and my heart dropped...why? there were lovely jars of a french preserve I love...now 18 jars of it are sitting next to the mustard...I gave the 12 jars of honey to my son...I was making my own homemade mustard for a while, but that seemed to be extreme---even for me!

2) I am not a music fan. I could live without hearing music at all, in fact. Yet, I am constantly singing at work.
3) I sniff. Yes. Sniff Sniff. I tend to have sinus problems and allergies so I sniff. But they are delicate femme sniffs
4) I am MORTIFIED if someone tries to talk to me when I am in the bathroom..for any reason...

I am terrified of heights in any form. In a car I will climb to the side that isn't on the edge.
In the shower I close my eyes and compose music for operas.
I have to change purses everyday. I can't stand using the same one for more than a day or two.
I pretty much only wear dresses and heels. I only own one pair of sneakers.
I fancy people with accents.
I have won 2 contests in my life...one was for the largest bubble blown (with gum) and the other was a bench pressing contest...

I have two new floor model industrial sewing machines (juki for those who care) and a regular home machine, and although I sew most every day, I send out all my dresses to be hemmed...I really can't stand that kind of sewing...the girl at the dry cleaners store laughs at me all the time...but, let's be honest--who actually Wants to hem a dress?...not I said the little red hen (wink icon)
I've been to culinary school...I've taught baking and basic cooking...for years and years I made all our bread...and cakes and cookies and pies...I'm able to can and preserve and pickle and do all that kind of stuff...I'm tired of doing it all...it's so much work...I will do it for gifts...and if I want to impress someone, but the problem with that is then they figure it's an all the time thing (insert rueful shrug icon)
I taught at standford university in the english department (many years ago) one of the students who didn't like me wrote a scathing review of the class...his last line was "what can you expect?...she's from new york and she's a Jew!!"...I think that weakened his argument...

1. (Taking inspiration from Neen above) ... I have won two things in my life. I won a CD from a radio station. I also was the lucky caller at the local radio station of the town I had just moved to. It was a birthday contest. I won $100 for my birthday being in my month, but almost won $1000. The day they called out specifically was one day off my birthday. Funniest part was I was so new to the city, that I didn't know the station's call letters, which is pretty embarrasing when they're like, "Soooo, tell us who just made you a winner?" <crickets>
2. I still have my 12-inch Charlie Brown Christmas tree out.
3. I've gone swimming with dolphins (at a really cool place in Orlando that is man-made but totally doesn't feel like it in some places.)
4. Among the most famous athletes I have interviewed are Michael Jordan, Lance Armstrong, Rudy Reuttiger (of the move Rudy fame..as well as the quarterback he sacked) and Ken Carter (of Coach Carter movie fame). And a slew of others that serious sports nuts would know but casual fans would go, 'huh?'
5. My roommate says I'm the worst beer pong player ever, but that's just based on one outing and he's biased! LOL
1. I'm both one of the most ambitious and laziest people I know, resulting in high mediocrity much of the time.
2. I have always been afraid of heights, but now it's ridiculous. High escalators freak me out, but I force myself to use them.
3. I won an art contest when I was six or seven. I still have the plaque somewhere. I also won several prizes at dances when I was a teenager. The DJ would walk around and award prizes to the best dancers. My best prize was a Moody Blues album, "Days of Future Past".
4. I would like to renovate my house (a 50's ranch) so it resembles an arts and crafts cottage.
5. We're getting ready to go away for the weekend. Going to Lake George for V-Day and Winter Carnival.
