I did and it was much better. Well, after I face planted in the field where the car was parked. Stupid hole in the ground. Broke one of my fave flip flops too and left a nasty ground in grass stain on my capris.

BUT

I wound up really enjoying the day. I got lots of new creations and I even won a lovely framed print from a fairly famous local artist. I found a new food haunt that will be fun in the summers and spent a LONG time chatting with one of my favorite festival artists. She's so quirky and lovely! She invited me to her house tonight but I had to pass. Too tired and needed to do some chores before work tomorrow. I spent roughly 5.5 hours wandering around the festival, so that was a half decent work out dodging in and out of traffic and around people. I even found one of my customers and, in TWO separate instances, her daughter. Lovely chats were had.

Even though my uterus is still waging war, I feel good. I'm showered and scrubbed free of sunblock. My one spot that got burnt is aloed and comfy. I have a load of towels in the dryer and a small load of clothes, including my stained capris, in the washer now. Hopefully, the pre-treatment and the vinegar and water did their job and I won't have to treat them again. They are one of my favorite pairs of summer pants so I'll keep working on them if need be.

I guess the best way to describe how I feel is content. I not only know my place in this world, but I know that I am appreciated and loved and that I am important. Plus, I spent a hella ton of money on art today. Given that it's the only art festival I'll make this year, that's okay. Laying it all out and seeing the fruition of many, many artists' seeds of creativity makes me sooo happy. Happy to the point of near giddiness. Maybe a little goofiness too. And that's okay. Because that's who I am and I am cherished for all my parts, even the quirky, weird, silly ones.

Apparently, I feel chatty as well.

UPS delivered my tow straps today from ebay. I ordered two Tanaka 3" wide, 30' long of these. They are rated 30,000 lb towing capacity. A large suv weighs about 6000 lbs so I know these will hold up well for pulling/positioning large pine trees. I can drag them to a little hill I have in mind. Cut them up, back the truck up to the little hill and roll the pieces downhill onto the bed ... haul off!!

I wish I could afford to hire a logging crew to come here and take away every pine tree on my property but I cannot ... but I can do this myself - it will just take longer.

Feeling terrific! I saw my new wound care doctor yesterday for the first time. I really do like him. This man is kind. Her foster daughter, who's a young girl about 15 years old (maybe?), ran away from her biological mothers home, in another state. She'd been missing for nearly four days. We found her today, so I'm thrilled that my BFF's foster daughter was found and that her safety remains in tact. We are so relieved to have found her so quickly. :rrose:

When I was young a friend of mine had to have hers removed and once it was out she felt SO much better. The procedure used today is much simpler, the recovery time a lot shorter, and unlike in the past barely leaves a scar. It's very fortunate it was caught! Frustrated as hell! I need surgery to fix a abdominal hernia but my retired military health insurance is useless as long as I'm signed up with Tricare prime so now I need to switch to Tricare standard which only pays 80%. My VA Dr left so now I have a new one again and can't get in till the 18th. I might as well push this hernia until I have to have emergency surgery forcing it to get fixed without all the insurance waiting and bs!

10 hours post op. I slept most of the day and my throat/airway is very Sore from the tube, along with the incision site. BUT I feel better than I thought I would and everything went well. So I'd say I'm feeling happy.

Interesting so many are posting about being out of sorts today. I had no less than 5 staff members call out at work this morning (fairly rare) and 2 others flat out told me they felt stressed and moody. Just came back inside after firing eight shells. I will definitely customize the length of pull to my size - will be no problem to saw three or so inches off. Plus I like a little different tilt on the end. I will put a slight slant inward at the bottom. Achieving max comfort is a stroll down easy street. :)

The commanding officer of the USS Fitzgerald was relieved of command due to failures under his watch. 9 sailors died because our protocols failed them! As a retired Operations Specialist, I worked in the combat information center of the ship. While on watch we are the ones that keep our shipmates safe! We are the ones that track contacts and plot avoiding courses. It makes me sad and angry that my fellow OS's standing watch that morning failed their shipmates. It boggles my mind how this even happened. How so many layers of protocols failed those sailors. They died horrible deaths and the Commanding officer down to the first OS that tracked that merchant ship has to live with that!

You see, our berthings (where we sleep) are below the waterline so when General quarters is sounded we have only minutes to seal all the hatches below decks. Those sailors had to be locked down in that berthing to keep flooding from compromising the ship. It's the risk that we keep in the back of our mind..those recesses of our mind that we hide away our fears.

So angry right now! One of my guys fell a sleep on watch while I was watch supervisor, I would throw shit at the back of their head. Shaking head...I just don't get it.
