I welcome the challenge to push beyond my comfort, to dig down in that place solid in my willingness. Though I posses the stubbornness, let me seek my humility as the light towards awakening. May my passion for understanding be met by the gift of unlearning those ideas that burn my soul and chain my heart. I ask that breath return between my bones so that I might stand upright in my healing, always seeking that which is my salvation, my own humanity...May I know that false pride lies in the ego dance and that I am neither my praise or my blame, may the dance between the two always grow smaller... I wish blessing to you and the knowledge that you matter ♥ (Sé 13')

Last night I sailed past page 499, reading Haruki Marukami's IQ84 (2011) and for some reason, the opening passage to chapter 16 felt incredibly healing to me:
Chp. 16
TENGO
(Like a Ghost Ship)
What kind of world will there be tomorrow?
"No one knows the answer to that," Fuki-Eri said (p. 499).
“We’re all seeking that special person who is right for us. But if you’ve been through enough relationships, you begin to suspect there’s no right person, just different flavors of wrong. Why is this? Because you yourself are wrong in some way, and you seek out partners who are wrong in some complementary way. But it takes a lot of living to grow fully into your own wrongness. And it isn’t until you finally run up against your deepest demons, your unsolvable problems—the ones that make you truly who you are—that we’re ready to find a lifelong mate. Only then do you finally know what you’re looking for. You’re looking for the wrong person. But not just any wrong person: the right wrong person—someone you lovingly gaze upon and think, “This is the problem I want to have.”
I will find that special person who is wrong for me in just the right way.
Let our scars fall in love.”
― Galway Kinnell
“The one who would be constant in happiness must frequently change.”
― Anthony de Mello
“You are so intense. Like a storm. It's shocking how intense you are.”
― Francesca Lia Block
“Do your own thing on your own terms and get what you came here for”
― Oliver James
“Surround yourself only with people who are going to take you higher.”

The lies a treasure in her waiting to awaken, a breath longing to release
can you find your way on the map to celebrate her deepest desires?
Are you worthy? Are you kind? Will she surrender her will to you at least and beg to be taken?
Can you protect her now, in your fragile state? Are you full enough to give to her all she is worth?
Can you wait to touch, to tame , to heal...
She make you want? She calls you name?
Be diligent and endure until the time comes for you to feed the fire she has within.

1) The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams 2) A loving heart is the truest wisdom. 3) Destiny is not a matter of chance, but a matter of choice. It is not a thing we wait for, it is a thing to be acheived. 4) A wise woman learns by the mistakes of others , a fool by her own 5) At first they only dislike what you say , but the more correct you are the more they dislike you.
When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

Insights from myth, dreams, and intuitions, from glimpses of an invisible reality, and from perennial human wisdom provide us with hints and guesses about the meaning of life and what we are here for. Prayer, observance, discipline, thought and action are the means through which we grow and find meaning.

"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back."

What do you know about being black? She asked the yellow colored girl.
Hey girl!
I see you walking.
Looking and moving – you look just like me.
Your hips are moving and tongue clicking.
I see you speaking of my plight.
Chocolate skin…
Hold on girl!
Caramel, almond, cafe con leche, caju, mel, and then chocolate.
My hips don’t move, they sway
My tongue dances formulating words foreign to this harsh idiom.
Our cause is/not one of the same.
Seeking to be seen, recognized, validated, and legalized.
Our history are beats of a drum – African/ Caribbean/Indigenous/ Latina
I am like you – not.
You see me walking.
I am just like you - not
Then I speak.
I am lost.
Hey girl!
Now, you don’t recognize me.

“I was full of a hot, powerful sadness and would have loved to burst into the comfort of tears, but tried hard not to, remembering something my Guru once said -- that you should never give yourself a chance to fall apart because, when you do, it becomes a tendency and it happens over and over again. They call to me
full breasted, wet and restless
they scream my name sweet tenderness,
the wild tamed.
Her, She, woman, femme
her delicate tastes, supple skin, submissive ways.
they look different, they are warm, kind, generous.
She melts in my mouth
She buckles under my sex
she, who is not here but wanted
her; the one that lingers
femme, the half to my whole
so familiar and never getting old.
Though I've discovered a challenge to my want,
the memory of you remains, she who calls to me is left behind because you are still there. teasing me with a love forgotten.
Taunting me with the story of us turned to the breaking of me...
My heart is not healed yet-
it is then I realize I am not reaching for anyone but running away from you.
I am not seeking to be with "her" I am trying to forget you
I am lost, I am wandering. I am not yet free from the place you made in my heart. And my heart aches.
So I step forward and fall back
I reach and recoil
I rise and dissolve.
She who steals from my breathe- woman, who arouses my senses
femme, she who feeds the flames of my desire
My missing piece lies lost under the sofa
The picture is there but it will take a thorough spring cleaning for it to be whole.
So I wait, I distract and I cry... I run, I walk and I hide.-ME

Love, something we all live with, dream of, or hope for
Tis a gift that is not to be taken lightly
A gift from one heart to another given in faith
From one soul wanting to give to another soul longing to receive
Coming together from darkness and sorrow, from loss and despair
Into the glow of a rainbow after the rains have fallen
Sunshine lights the path, though it be dark in the early morn
A new dawn is to awaken the sleeping heart of the lost soul
A new era approaches the lives of two who have wandered
Within the shadows of their life, the attic of their minds
Where dust had gathered a breeze now gently blows all away
To reveal the beauty of what may come and shine forth
A beauty that can only be shared by two with faith in themselves
and trust in their hearts
A desire for consummate love bubbles within and gives a reason to live
To live and let every moment together count, waste not one day nor even one moment
This is beauty that can overcome the darkness, a love that can grow
When given the chance to risk, to grab hold of the clouds and soar
Open the door, let it all in, cherish it, live it, and do not let go
Refrain not when love knocks gently on your heart's door
One has so much to give, the other has so much need
to be loved and cared for, someone to walk with, to be there
Which is the one who needs to give, or the one who needs to be
Held and loved, nourished and soothed, it changes from day to day
Arms that ache to be holding the one, the love that blooms
A fire that burns and must be quenched before it consumes
Love cannot grow if not given a chance,
A risk not taken is to not feel the dance
Of moments together to create memories
Swaying together with a garden breeze
Gently caressing the lovers that embrace
Behind curtains of white gossamer lace
From shaking hands and heart, about to risk, a Sacred Love begins to grow, born of purity and faith, trust and spiritual knowing
There are times when someone also needs the courage to just live
Reach out, take the hand offered, take the heart that loves you
Treat it with great care, and give back the love
And the rose, when turned, becomes Eros, the god of Love

“When we're incomplete, we're always searching for somebody to complete us. When, after a few years or a few months of a relationship, we find that we're still unfulfilled, we blame our partners and take up with somebody more promising. This can go on and on--series polygamy--until we admit that while a partner can add sweet dimensions to our lives, we, each of us, are responsible for our own fulfillment. Nobody else can provide it for us, and to believe otherwise is to delude ourselves dangerously and to program for eventual failure every relationship we enter.”

A fearful man searches with eyes of doubt, looking for what he perceives to be lacking,
For a life he believes is unreachable, for a moment incomprehensible.
he tells himself, I cannot, I wont, I dont.
A wise man finds himself- there were only barriers of which he had not yet awakened to with in him.
The friendship he was seeking-he found by giving
the Love he wanted was discovered by loving
The life he longed for came about by living it.
He then knew he always could, He always would and he does...

“Relationships are treated like Dixie cups. They are the same. They are disposable. If it does not work, drop it, throw it away, get another. Committed bonds (including marriage) cannot last when this is the prevailing logic. Most of us are unclear about what to do to protect and strengthen caring bonds when our self-centered needs are not being met.”

"The majority of us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world. There will most likely be no ticker-tape parades for us, no monuments created in our honor. But that does not lessen our possible impact, for there are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along; people who will appreciate our compassion, our unique talents. Someone who will live a happier life merely because we took the time to share what we had to give. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have a potential to turn a life around. It’s overwhelming to consider the continuous opportunities there are to make our love felt."

true story-when I was about 15 and in a immense amount of emotional turmoil and found myself somewhere in Kentucky watching tv in a hotel by myself
That is when I was introduced to Leo- the man changed my life that day
He told his story of how He used to be a professor at UCLA and had tenure
every semester he'd asked his students to come by his office to get to know them a bit
One day a young woman came in highly intoxicated and he told her he could not see her that way for there was no way he could know her if she were not herself- weeks went by and he saw her less and less until one day she just was not there
no one even the class remembered her existence
He then went to the Dean of Women and found the young girl had gone to The Pacific Palasades (cliffs) and jumped
it was then he thought to himself- "we teach children how to read, write and arithmetic but not how to live"
He then gave up his tenure to become a motivational speaker to help people learn to live. he is a great man- I admire and hope to be more like every day :) thank you for sharing this

In Your time, Spirit ,may I grow in my understanding of self.
My spiritual journey involves a discovery of self. For years, I pretended to be what I was not, what I imagined myself to be, or what others wanted me to be. Today I am beginning to know myself. I understand my needs and my strengths. I accept my weaknesses and live with my confusion. From the time I put down the glass, things have progressively gotten better, but there is still a great deal I do not understand. The daily violence and suffering, and my own personal defenses, impatience, and judgment-where do they come from? I do not know, and that is okay. I still search. My suspicion is that the answer lies within my own insecurities, as they do crop up time to time, ever reminding me of my humanness.

Not to jump in and be an arse....but I really disagree with this quote.
The major barrier to a loving relationship with another person is an unloved part of yourself. Most of us have aspects of ourselves that we have never loved and accepted, and this failure to love ourselves keeps us from forming and keeping genuine love in close relationships.

“The point of marriage is not to create a quick commonality by tearing down all boundaries; on the contrary, a good marriage is one in which each partner appoints the other to be the guardian of his solitude, and thus they show each other the greatest possible trust. A merging of two people is an impossibility, and where it seems to exist, it is a hemming-in, a mutual consent that robs one party or both parties of their fullest freedom and development. But once the realization is accepted that even between the closest people infinite distances exist, a marvelous living side-by-side can grow up for them, if they succeed in loving the expanse between them, which gives them the possibility of always seeing each other as a whole and before an immense sky.”

I do believe in love at first sight. I believe in a lot of thing. I truly believe everything happens for a reason, even if some things are terrible or it didnt want to happen. Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who dont, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life let it.

I Crave Your Mouth - Pablo Neruda
I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair.
Silent, starving I prowl through the streets.
Bread does not nourish me, dawn disquiets me,
I search the liquid sound of your steps all day.
I hunger for your sleek laugh,
For your hands the color of the wild grain,
I hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.
I want to eat the sunbeam flaring in your loveliness,
The nose, sovereign of your arrogant face,
I want to eat the fleeting shade of your lashes,
And I walk hungry, smelling the twilight
Looking for you, for your hot heart,
Like a puma in the barren wilderness.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Ezek. 22:14
At times when you are not secure...
Determine that you will endure...
When Hate and Persecution make...
Your lot seem worse than you can take...
Don't panic or curse back or quit...
Be patient, calm, and stick with it...
Right will prevail, have Faith and Hope...
And with God's help endure and cope...
With bitter and false accusation...
And overcome Hate's condemnation.

First Snow, (Excerpted from American Primitive), Mary Oliver
The snow
began here
this morning and all day
continued, its white
rhetoric everywhere
calling us back to why, how,
whence such beauty and what
the meaning; such
an oracular fever! flowing
past windows, an energy it seemed
would never ebb, never settle
less than lovely! and only now,
deep into night,
it has finally ended.
The silence
is immense,
and the heavens still hold
a million candles, nowhere
the familiar things:
stars, the moon,
the darkness we expect
and nightly turn from. Trees
glitter like castles
of ribbons, the broad fields
smolder with light, a passing
creek bed lies
heaped with shining hills;
and though the questions
that have assailed us all day
remain — not a single
answer has been found –
walking out now
into the silence and the light
under the trees,
and through the fields,
feels like one.

One of my favorites...
“With a chaste heart
With pure eyes I celebrate your beauty
Holding the leash of blood
So that it might leap out and trace your outline
Where you lie down in my Ode
As in a land of forests or in surf
In aromatic loam, or in sea music
Beautiful nude
Equally beautiful your feet
Arched by primeval tap of wind or sound
Your ears, small shells
Of the splendid American sea
Your breasts of level plentitude
Fulfilled by living light
Your flying eyelids of wheat
Revealing or enclosing
The two deep countries of your eyes
The line your shoulders have divided into pale regions
Loses itself and blends into the compact halves of an apple
Continues separating your beauty down into two columns of
Burnished gold
Fine alabaster
To sink into the two grapes of your feet
Where your twin symmetrical tree burns again and rises
Flowering fire
Open chandelier
A swelling fruit
Over the pact of sea and earth
From what materials
Agate?
Quartz?
Wheat?
Did your body come together?
Swelling like baking bread to signal silvered hills
The cleavage of one petal
Sweet fruits of a deep velvet
Until alone remained
Astonished
The fine and firm feminine form
It is not only light that falls over the world spreading inside your body
Yet suffocate itself
So much is clarity
Taking its leave of you
As if you were on fire within
The moon lives in the lining of your skin.”

I wandered lonely as a cloud
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

feels like such a betrayal: the hurt not denied, not pushed away, but gone entirely
for that moment you can't help feeling good in, a moment of sudden, irrational joy
over nothing of consequence, really, which makes it all somehow seem even worse.
Shouldn't happiness be the result of some grand event, something adequate to counter
that aching, gaping chasm that opened when . . . But, no: it's merely this: there goes
our little neighbor, running barefoot, no pants, fox stole wrapped around her shoulders.

We smile at each other
and I lean back against the wicker couch.
How does it feel to be dead? I say.
You touch my knees with your blue fingers.
And when you open your mouth,
a ball of yellow light falls to the floor
and burns a hole through it.
Don't tell me, I say. I don't want to hear.
Did you ever, you start,
wear a certain kind of dress
and just by accident,
so inconsequential you barely notice it,
your fingers graze that dress
and you hear the sound of a knife cutting paper,
you see it too
and you realize how that image
is simply the extension of another image,
that your own life
is a chain of words
that one day will snap.
Words, you say, young girls in a circle, holding hands,
and beginning to rise heavenward
in their confirmation dresses,
like white helium balloons,
the wreathes of flowers on their heads spinning,
and above all that,
that's where I'm floating,
and that's what it's like
only ten times clearer,
ten times more horrible.
Could anyone alive survive it?

I can live only wholly with you or not at all. Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits.
Yes, unhappily it must be so. You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart - never - never.
Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men - At my age I need a steady, quiet life - can that be so in our connection?
Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together. Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.

Oh, Great Spirit......
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the world,
hear me, I am small and weak,
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold
the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have
made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand the things
you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have
hidden in every leaf and rock.
I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my Spirit may come to you without shame.

When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.[...] 'Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,' he asked, 'or bit by bit?''It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose joints and very shabby.
