It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain!I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithlessand therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see beauty even when it's not pretty, every day,and if you can source your own life from its presence.

The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer, book cover
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

"I know what this is, Alexander. Why you're with me. You're a man who dares to dance with the freaks. I perpetuate that deviance for you, allow you to show the world that you live outside the box. But, I know that's where this ends for us, and I understand. It comes with the territory of my complicated identity. But my feelings for you are simpler. They live very much inside the box. I am afraid, Alexander, that I may have fallen in love with you... I am a man. A man who knows she's a woman. And that's exactly where I'm supposed to be. That's the crisscross that I've come to love. I don't want the surgery. I don't want to undo what God has given me. I know how beautiful I am."

It is an interesting sidelight that our language—created and codified by men—does not have one unflattering term to describe men who vent their anger at women. Even such epithets as "bastard" and "son of a bitch" do not condemn the man but place the blame on a woman.

The Black Lives Matter Movement isn’t a plea for pity, or an appeal to comity, but an exercise in personal and collective advocacy by an oppressed people.

It says to America: You will not dictate the parameters of my expression; you will not assign the grammar of my pain; you will not tell me how I should feel. For these young activists, it’s not ideological but existential; it’s not about a political field but a battlefield, one from which they cannot escape, one on which their very bodies are marked and threatened with destruction.

This is not an esoteric, intellectual debate about best practices, but quite literally a flesh and blood struggle for equal access to liberty and longevity.

By being beautiful and kind you are doing your part to create a more beautiful world.
When you are kind to people in public you become a force for good, and you are teaching everyone who is watching you.
People know love when they feel it; your heart speaks to their heart.
People don't care what you say, only how you make them feel, so try to create pleasure for every person you encounter.
If you do this, your life will change forever, along with the lives of those you have touched.
We are both thinking and feeling creatures.
We must, therefore, devote our lives not only to rationality, but also to kindness.
There is no greater intelligence than kindness and empathy.
Kindness is the supreme intelligence. Let your brilliance be expressed through kindness.
If you can be kind to people, you will be a genius in this world.

Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is.

"It's easy to feel uncared for when people aren't able to communicate with you in the way you need. And it's so hard not to internalize that silence as a reflection on your worth. But the truth is that the way other people operate is not about you.

Most people are so caught up in their own responsibilities, struggles, and anxiety that the thought of asking someone else how they're doing doesn't even cross their mind. They aren't inherently bad or uncaring - they're just busy and self-focused. And that's okay. It's not evidence of some fundamental failing on your part. It doesn't make you unloveable or invisible. It just means that those people aren't very good at looking beyond their own world.

But the fact that you are - that despite the darkness you feel, you have the ability to share your love and light with others - is a strength. Your work isn't to change who you are; it's to find people who are able to give you the connection you need. Because despite what you feel, you are not too much. You are not too sensitive or too needy. You are thoughtful and empathetic. You are compassionate and kind. And with or without anyone's acknowledgment or affection, you are enough."

your hands have known too many passengers

and I promise to always shelter you

that don’t leave bruises on your heart
and for the ones that do I swear
I will knit away at them to keep you protected
because flowers of war
are beautiful when grown together

- "I love you" - said the little Prince.
- "I want you too" - said the rose.
- "Is not the same" - he answered...

*To want, is to take possession of something, someone. It is to search in others those things that fills the personal expectations of affection, of company...
*Wanting is to do our what does not belong to us, is to take ownership or desire something to complete us, because at some point we recognize we are lacking.
*Wanting is expecting, is sticking to the things and people from our needs. Then, when we don't have reciprocity there is suffering. When the beloved "one" is not for us, we feel frustrated and disappointed. If I want someone, I have expectations, I hope something. If the other person does not give me what I expect, I suffer. The problem is that there is a greater chance that the other person has other motivations, because we are all very different. Every human being is a universe.

*To love is to wish the best for the other, even when it has very different motivations.
*Love is to allow you to be happy, even when your path is different from mine. It is a selfless feeling which is born in a donation, is giving ourself completely from the heart. For this reason, the love will never be a cause of suffering. When a person says that has suffered for love, has actually suffered for wanting, not for loving. One suffers from attachments. If you really love, you can not suffer, because nothing is expected from the other.
*When we love, we give ourselves without asking anything in return, just for the simple and pure pleasure of giving. But it is also true that this hand over, this giving, selfless, occurs only in the knowledge. We can only love what we know, because loving involves jumping into the void, trust the life and soul. And the soul is not compensated. And knowing is just to know yourself, your joys, your peace, but also of your anger, your struggles, your mistakes. Because love transcends the anger, fights, errors and is not just for moments of joy.
*To love is a full confidence that whatever happens you will be, not because you owe anything, not with selfish possession, but being, in silent company.
*To love is to know that the weather does not change you, nor the storms, nor my winters.
*To love is to give you a place in my heart for you to stay, as father, mother, brother, son, friend, and know that there is a place in yours for me.
*Giving love does not exhaust the love, on the contrary, it increases it. The way to give back so much love, is open our hearts and let yourself be loved.

- "I already understood" - rose said.
- "Don't understand it, live it"- said the little Prince.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.

3. I wish I had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier

This writing is amazing and so descriptive-one can truly feel it.

I looked for more of his writing:

"She was the kind of girl who weighed her life in tears—not years. When I met her she told me she was as old as the ocean, and I thought maybe I could save her—as if the current needed a life jacket to keep moving."

Choose Her Every Day (or Leave Her)

Intimate relationships don’t last because you love each other. They last because you make—and remake—a choice.

I spent 5 years hurting a good woman by staying with her but never fully choosing her.

I did want to be with this one. I really wanted to choose her. She was an exquisite woman, brilliant and funny and sexy and sensual. She could make my whole body laugh with her quick, dark wit and short-circuit my brain with her exotic beauty. Waking up every morning with her snuggled in my arms was my happy place. I loved her wildly.

Unfortunately, as happens with many young couples, our ignorance of how to do love well quickly created stressful challenges in our relationship. Before long, once my early morning blissful reverie gave way to the strained, immature ways of our everyday life together, I would often wonder if there was another woman out there who was easier to love, and who could love me better.

As the months passed and that thought reverberated more and more through my head, I chose her less and less. Everyday, for five years, I chose her a little less.

I stayed with her. I just stopped choosing her. We both suffered.
Choosing her would have meant focusing everyday on the gifts she was bringing into my life that I could be grateful for: her laughter, beauty, sensuality, playfulness, companionship, and so … much … more.

Choosing her would have meant focusing everyday on the gifts she was bringing into my life that I could be grateful for: her laughter, beauty, sensuality, playfulness, companionship, and so … much … more.

Sadly, I often found it nearly impossible to embrace – or even see – what was so wildly wonderful about her.

I was too focused on the anger, insecurities, demands, and other aspects of her strong personality that grated on me. The more I focused on her worst, the more I saw of it, and the more I mirrored it back to her by offering my own worst behavior. Naturally, this only magnified the strain on our relationship … which still made me choose her even less.

Thus did our nasty death spiral play itself out over five years.
She fought hard to make me choose her. That’s a fool’s task. You can’t make someone choose you, even when they might love you.

To be fair, she didn’t fully choose me, either. The rage-fueled invective she often hurled at me was evidence enough of that.

I realize now, however, that she was often angry because she didn’t feel safe with me. She felt me not choosing her everyday, in my words and my actions, and she was afraid I would abandon her.

Actually, I did abandon her.
Like a precious fragrant flower I brought proudly into my home but then failed to water, I left her alone in countless ways to wither in the dry hot heat of our intimate relationship.

By not fully choosing her everyday for five years, by focusing on what bothered me rather than what I adored about her, I deserted her. Like a precious fragrant flower I brought proudly into my home but then failed to water, I left her alone in countless ways to wither in the dry hot heat of our intimate relationship.

I’ll never not choose another woman I love again.
It’s torture for everyone.

If you’re in relationship, I invite you to ask yourself this question:
“Why am I choosing my partner today?”

If you can’t find a satisfying answer, dig deeper and find one. It could be as simple as noticing that in your deepest heart’s truth, “I just do.”
If you can’t find it today, ask yourself again tomorrow. We all have disconnected days.

But if too many days go by and you just can’t connect with why you’re choosing your partner, and your relationship is rife with stress, let them go. Create the opening for another human being to show up and see them with fresh eyes and a yearning heart that will enthusiastically choose them every day.

Your loved one deserves to be enthusiastically chosen. Everyday.
You do, too.

Choose wisely.

Prayer and trust and your capacity to reason as a mystic give you the wisdom to recognize that life will always be full of challenges and crisis.
The wise way is not to attempt to find one path that promises you will never have to endure the pain of loss and illness, but instead to learn how to endure and transcend when unreasonable events come your way.
Learning to defy gravity in your world - to think, perceive, and act at the mystical level of consciousness - is the greatest gift you can give yourself, because it is the gift of truth.
And as we are bound to learn again and again in this life, the truth does indeed set us free. — Caroline Myss

She was kind and lovely and beautiful, the kind of soul you wanted to keep close, she was a dreamer,
a creator of her world, a writer - her thoughts the canvas and her words painted pictures as if she was making love to every moment, she was quiet yet willful,
she had these ages in her eyes that reflected centuries of wisdom but for those with shallow sight she looked like she wasn't old enough to know anything, she was everything and nothing,
her love of life was so unique, she was the type of person you dreamed of getting close to but rarely did she let anyone in, she was an observer, a contemplator,
she had intention in every move she made, she was wild and free spirited she really never wanted to fit in, she was pure and untainted like a newborn when it takes it's first breath,
she was whole and secure but best of all of her qualities was the way she made others feel when they were near her,
she was accepting, non judgmental, she allowed you to be yourself, she loved that about people, that pure unapologetic expression of who you truly are without any reason to explain yourself,
without worry or fear that someone may not love you for you, yeah she loved that about those who were brave enough to love themselves enough not to conform,
not to pretend or dim the light with themselves, those who have not surrendered, she loved them unconditionally because she loved herself in that same way.
There is something about the souls who truly enjoy who they are, they express a level of peace and beauty that goes far past what the naked eye can ever truly see.

“Throughout the centuries there were men [women] who took first steps down new roads armed with nothing but their own vision. Their goals differed, but they all had this in common: that the step was first, the road new, the vision unborrowed, and the response they received — hatred. The great creators — the thinkers, the artists, the scientists, the inventors — stood alone against the men [women] of their time. Every great new thought was opposed. Every great new invention was denounced. The first motor was considered foolish. The airplane was considered impossible. The power loom was considered vicious. Anesthesia was considered sinful. But the men of unborrowed vision went ahead. They fought, they suffered and they paid. But they won.”

It's pretty evident that "The Ellen DeGeneres Show's" producers and writers think a sketch based around making fun of a black women's ass (be it real or "fake") is just some good-natured ribbing. The end result, though, is something more like complete and utter disrespect.

Say to yourself...NEVER AGAIN!!! Never again...will I find myself in this situation...or beat myself up because of my past mistakes.
NEVER AGAIN will I give up on my dream because of what someone else has said or because I've been rejected or experienced failure or a setback.
EVER AGAIN will I not give my all or go all out, or represent myself as a powerless weak victim because of some tragedy that I've experienced.
NEVER AGAIN will I go back to a life, a lie, a relationship, or a situation that doesn't represent the best in me.
I am better than this...bigger than this...stronger than this!
Don't let a temporary situation cause you to make a permanent decision about your possibilities and your future.
Keep pushing forward despite the odds or how you feel at the moment. Give out but don't give up!! Dare to be GREAT!!
You have GREATNESS within you!! — Les Brown

Go deeper than love, for the soul has greater depths,
love is like the grass, but the heart is deep wild rock
molten, yet dense and permanent.
.
Go down to your deep old heart, and lose sight of yourself.
And lose sight of me, the me whom you turbulently loved.
.
Let us lose sight of ourselves, and break the mirrors.
For the fierce curve of our lives is moving again to the depths
out of sight, in the deep living heart.
.
But say, in the dark wild metal of your heart
is there a gem, which came into being between us?
is there a sapphire of mutual trust, a blue spark?
Is there a ruby of fused being, mine and yours, an inward glint?
