After seeing on the news that nursing home in Texas flooded and those poor elderly patients in wheelchairs with water up to their waists, I'm grateful for my job at the nursing home this weekend. I'm grateful my spouse is well enough yet to be at home and not in a nursing home, I'm grateful for my bff for living with us on weekends and being with my spouse while I work, I'm grateful for a lot right now.

Not happy about having to go, but thankful for the amazing ER staff, fast treatment and finding a Dr that had "gotten into" Stinging Nettles before and knew exactly what I was dealing with (none of the nurses had heard of it before)... thankful she knew my Lupus causes issues with my healing, and she knew exactly what to give me to help. Especially after I had tried many OTC remedies and nothing helped.
Thankful I might be able to sleep tonight.

My BFF was recently diagnosed with Lupus.... she kept having serious attacks of shingles, getting them in her eyes, mouth, nose, ears, to finally all over, as if she had chicken pox, but it was far worse than that. And she's got three other complicated health conditions which get worse when her Lupus flares up.

I'm really glad you got the help you needed at ER, Kenna. Lupus is a very serious condition. :rrose:

I'm so sorry to hear about your dear friend. Lupus is, sadly, different for each patient, so it makes it harder to find effective treatment...and sometimes takes years of learning to cope with it. My heart goes out to her and her supporting friends and family. I highly recommend signing up for the national and local Lupus support groups and their regular, Lupus specific news letters. I have found several articles that help me talk in depth to my providers. (I too have suffered years from the shingles. I'm so sorry!)

And my hint for the day...don't get into a batch of Stinging Nettle weeds, as Lupus makes it harder to heal from skin damage.

I'm kinda that "girl who would not die" about a dozen time in my life. No joke. And when I think back on all of the shit I've been through and how I am a functioning, healthy, loving adult today, it's truly a mindfuck. But that's what I do. I survive. I bounce back. Hell, I even THRIVE.

Im thankful for all aspects of this God given life.
Interestingly enough. We had our Joint Commission visit. Most usually stressful. But. I’m thankful that our Life Safety Commissioner was a blessing . Yes we got our dings and have things to improve on. But this is the first year. Come to think about the many years in the Medical field. The commissioner had a lunch and learn with the facilities and management team. Explaining The Who, what, where and when of what they do, expect and what we need to improve and watch for from this day forward. Impressive, he was I must say. Given the knowledge he passes on to us and our facility. As well as praising our entire staff for being helpful, customer service inclined, and compassionate. I now view the whole process at a new and inspiring experience.

I'm thankful many countries have put their differences aside and have come together in a humanitarian effort to rescue those kids and get them back to their Mommas

I'm Thankful...
Monte (so far) isn't fighting his temporary quarantine, attempting to make a prison break run for it.
My son's girlfriend volunteered to take classes, get certified with the state to become my caregiver, help me out with things I can't do for myself yet, like drive, and that she's really nice and a very, very patient person who's pleasant to be around.
That lately even though it isn't that bad things aren't happening, when they do, something comes along that not only rights the situation, but actually leaves me even better off than before the situation occurred. Small stuff, but still refreshing.

This morning I’m thankful for good luck. Things could have been worse for me had it not been for luck.

Good luck allowed me walk away from a horrendous car accident. Good luck landed me in Southern California. It was also good luck that got me this job and the home I live in. I’m a hard worker and can be persistent—that’s what kept me at the job and in my home, but it was sheer luck that I came across these things.

I’ve been lucky in life and for that I’m thankful.

I'm thankful for therapy and meds. And I'm especially thankful for my stepmom who pushed me to get both.

I've had depression on and off for more than 25 years. However it's always been moderate for the most part. Sometimes it's worse in the winter.

Unfortunately, over the last year or so it's been worse. I work in mental health and *should* know better, but I kept thinking I could just get through it.

I finally reached out for help (after much encouragement from my stepmom) and started a new medication. (I've been on some meds for years.) It's amazing how after just a short time that medication has made a difference.

I have been interested in doing things again, I have stopped laying in bed all day, and the thoughts of death have gone away.

So today I'm thankful for that little tiny pill and, most especially, for my stepmom who pushed me to get help.

I am thankful for my friends.
We may not see each other often or talk on the phone often but we are there supporting each other. I have friends from high school days to much more recently. I have straight friends, femmes, butches, and transgender friends. My friends range in age from youth to much older than me.

My experience is that friends take the time to get to know each other and see the beauty in each other. I am openly kind and mushy with my friends and they are with me.

My friends listen with open hearts and I listen with an open heart. There is not any judgment or expectations only shared advice and kindness. We help each other and support each other.

In these times when so many people are going through loss of friends and family. Many folks are also looking for shelter and just the regular comforts of home. I am so very thankful I still have my brother and we have both survived this covid virus so far. I am thankful I have shelter and warmth and lots of food. I think we all need to be thankful for what we have although we still have to deal with what and who we have lost. As long as there is life there is hope. My mom would sit and harmonize (wonderfully well) with this song and I want to share it with you if you care to listen. I think it says a lot.

I have been sick for over a week. Sore throat, cough, feverish with chills. Thankfully I’m able to work from home so I only have missed a few hours of work this week. Today I finally feel that I am shaking it off. My covid test came back negative which is a good thing since I’ve had both my shots and my booster. I am so thankful that I am getting better!

My amazing son. He's so helpful to me and is such a great husband and father. Today he brought breakfast, fixed the computer, installed the new phone, took down the Christmas lights, took out the trash, then shared videos of my grandson's birthday party. On account of COVID we're having two parties one for those from out of town and another for those of us of us here later.

My son decided to buy my grandson a set of toy construction vehicles/equipment just like those he had growing up. The large almost but not quite big enough to ride size. They're older and not easy to find. Especially not brand new in their original packaging. So he had to buy them one piece here one piece there and it took him forever.

He started collecting them when my grandson was just a few days old and finally got the last piece just a couple of days ago. They're those heavy duty metal construction ones that have the rubber like, not plastic tires. I'm not sure what happened to my son's set, only that is has something to do with my parents so I didn't press for details.

Anyhow though he's on the outs with them now, he has a lot of good memories of him and his brother playing in the dirt with them in my parent's back yard while they were growing up. They only had a few pieces of the set when they were children but my son was able to put together the entire collection for his son.

My grandson loves them and I'm so thankful because his dad spent so much money and put so much time and energy into putting together that set for him in time for his birthday it would have been heartbreaking if his reaction had been like it's been for some gifts he's gotten – Yeah whatever, what's next? Hurry up! Um I mean please hurry up. Now!!!

I’ve got starts lined up in my enclosed front porch, ready to be put out so they can grow and stretch. I love this time of year where there’s so much anticipation and wonderment!

Thankful for this little furry guy in my lap. He absolutely loves me and has helped fill the hole in my heart since Skip died. He is running in his sleep right now. I feel his little feet on my leg. He is so different than Skip was. He is willing to please but a little hard headed. I miss having big dogs but as I've gotten older the smaller dogs are easier to handle physically and I never heard of a campground that said no mixed breed small dogs LOL. So I'm thankful for this little man he has brought me much comfort and joy

That my ex husband and I, our sons and the boys step mother all went to counseling after the divorce. Not together but at around the same time. It took awhile to really put into full practice the things they recommended but one thing we did see the importance of and were able to get right away was that we shouldn't speak bad about each other in front of the children. Lol out of ear shot we did plenty of speaking bad about each other to each other but at least stupid as we were back then we had enough sense to see the smarts in what they were saying and didn't speak bad about each other in front of the children. Which I think is one of the main reasons today we all have good relationships with our children, and to a certain extent even with each other. I'm thankful we all got some therapy.

Jeff Bezos, by way of Amazon (a company he started in his garage), has changed the game with online shopping … and I’m here for it.

Amazon has set the standard for buying and returning items online. What a difference this has made for so many.

Thank you, Amazon.

PS: Bruno and I used to talk shit about people who were always returning items to Amazon (thinking of a lovely niece of mine who spends lots of time at the USP store). I’m sure we’ll take up where we left off when he returns.
