When you look into your life always remember….
The things that is most important…
Health… happiness… love…
Without Health it is very hard to be happy….
When you are not happy in your life it is hard to feel and give love….
Love in yourself is the first most important …..
If we don’t love ourselves how can we expect others to love us?

There were the roses, in the rain.
Don't cut them, I pleaded.
They won't last, she said.
But they're so beautiful
where they are.
Agh, we were all beautiful once, she said,
and cut them and gave them to me
in my hand.

THE GUEST HOUSE

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

A sudden blow: the great wings beating still
Above the staggering girl, her thighs caressed
By the dark webs, her nape caught in his bill,
He holds her helpless breast upon his breast.

How can those terrified vague fingers push
The feathered glory from her loosening thighs?
And how can body, laid in that white rush,
But feel the strange heart beating where it lies?

A shudder in the loins engenders there
The broken wall, the burning roof and tower,
And Agammenon dead.

Being so caught up,

So mastered by the brute blood of the air,
Did she put on his knowledge with his power
Before the indifferent beak let her drop?

(W.B. Yeats)

Please Hear What I'm Not Saying

Don't be fooled by me.
Don't be fooled by the face I wear
for I wear a mask, a thousand masks,
masks that I'm afraid to take off,
and none of them is me.

Pretending is an art that's second nature with me,
but don't be fooled,
for God's sake don't be fooled.
I give you the impression that I'm secure,
that all is sunny and unruffled with me, within as well
as without,
that confidence is my name and coolness my game,
that the water's calm and I'm in command
and that I need no one,
but don't believe me.
My surface may seem smooth but my surface is my mask,
ever-varying and ever-concealing.
Beneath lies no complacence.
Beneath lies confusion, and fear, and aloneness.
But I hide this. I don't want anybody to know it.
I panic at the thought of my weakness exposed.
That's why I frantically create a mask to hide behind,
a nonchalant sophisticated facade,
to help me pretend,
to shield me from the glance that knows.

But such a glance is precisely my salvation, my only hope,
and I know it.
That is, if it's followed by acceptance,
if it's followed by love.
It's the only thing that can liberate me from myself,
from my own self-built prison walls,
from the barriers I so painstakingly erect.
It's the only thing that will assure me
of what I can't assure myself,
that I'm really worth something.
But I don't tell you this. I don't dare to, I'm afraid to.
I'm afraid your glance will not be followed by acceptance,
will not be followed by love.
I'm afraid you'll think less of me,
that you'll laugh, and your laugh would kill me.
I'm afraid that deep-down I'm nothing
and that you will see this and reject me.

So I play my game, my desperate pretending game,
with a facade of assurance without
and a trembling child within.
So begins the glittering but empty parade of masks,
and my life becomes a front.
I idly chatter to you in the suave tones of surface talk.
I tell you everything that's really nothing,
and nothing of what's everything,
of what's crying within me.
So when I'm going through my routine
do not be fooled by what I'm saying.
Please listen carefully and try to hear what I'm not saying,
what I'd like to be able to say,
what for survival I need to say,
but what I can't say.

I don't like hiding.
I don't like playing superficial phony games.
I want to stop playing them.
I want to be genuine and spontaneous and me
but you've got to help me.
You've got to hold out your hand
even when that's the last thing I seem to want.
Only you can wipe away from my eyes
the blank stare of the breathing dead.
Only you can call me into aliveness.
Each time you're kind, and gentle, and encouraging,
each time you try to understand because you really care,
my heart begins to grow wings--
very small wings,
very feeble wings,
but wings!

With your power to touch me into feeling
you can breathe life into me.
I want you to know that.
I want you to know how important you are to me,
how you can be a creator--an honest-to-God creator--
of the person that is me
if you choose to.
You alone can break down the wall behind which I tremble,
you alone can remove my mask,
you alone can release me from my shadow-world of panic,
from my lonely prison,
if you choose to.
Please choose to.

Do not pass me by.
It will not be easy for you.
A long conviction of worthlessness builds strong walls.
The nearer you approach to me
the blinder I may strike back.
It's irrational, but despite what the books say about man
often I am irrational.
I fight against the very thing I cry out for.
But I am told that love is stronger than strong walls
and in this lies my hope.
Please try to beat down those walls
with firm hands but with gentle hands
for a child is very sensitive.

Who am I, you may wonder?
I am someone you know very well.
For I am every man you meet
and I am every woman you meet.

"I don't think there ever was a lazy man in this world. Every man has some sort of gift, and he prizes that gift beyond all others. He may be a professional billiard-player, or a Paderewski, or a poet--I don't care what it is. But whatever it is, he takes a native delight in exploiting that gift, and you will find it is difficult to beguile him away from it. Well, there are thousands of other interests occupying other men, but those interests don't appeal to the special tastes of the billiard champion or Paderewski. They are set down, therefore, as too lazy to do that or do this--to do, in short what they have no taste or inclination to do. In that sense, then I am phenomenally lazy. But when it comes to writing a book--I am not lazy. My family find it difficult to dig me out of my chair." --Mark Twain

An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies & ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy & truth." The boy thought about it, and asked, "Grandfather, which wolf wins?" The old man quietly replied, "The one you feed".

A human being is a part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty" ~ Albert Einstein

Don't let the noise of other's opinion drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. I'd like to widen people's awareness of the tremendous timespan lying ahead -- for our planet, and for life itself. Most educated people are aware that we're the outcome of nearly 4bn years of Darwinian selection, but many tend to think that humans are somehow the culmination. Our sun, however, is less than halfway through its lifespan. Six billion years from now, it will not be humans who watch the sun's demise. Any creatures that then exist will be as different from us as we are from bacteria or amoebae. -Martin Rees, cosmologist and astrophysicist (b. 1942)

Smiling to my body I breathe in
Releasing the tensions in my body I breathe out.
Breathing in I go back

There are beautiful trees
Within the island
There are clear streams of water
There are birds
Sunshine, and fresh air
Breathing out I feel safe
I enjoy going back to my island.

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life...

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.

"One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.

"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

"This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"

The old chief simply replied,
"The one you feed."

Breathe

I pick up the phone and your voice catches me off guard My heart skips a beat and it takes me a moment to respond I hear your breath And it moves through my entire body A feeling of complete warmth overtakes me As you speak, my mind imagines you standing in front of me I can see you looking at me Standing there looking into my eyes I feel your breath on my face We move closer to one another Every breath you breathe is mine And I yours Our bodies touch I can feel your heartbeat against my chest We stand motionless Simply breathing Holding one another close The only movement is the rhythmic rise and fall of our chests As we breathe I feel you inside me Inside every part of me Your love caresses my soul My heart is so full of emotions Yet I can’t move All I can do is breathe The beating of your heart fills my ears And my breath quickens You respond by taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly I melt in the comfort of your arms As I hold you even closer Your breath becomes my own And in that instant the world disappears In this moment all that exists Is just you and me Standing closer than any two people have ever been Utter contentment fills my entire being As we share every feeling, every emotion, every breath All I can do is hold you and look into your eyes And simply, breathe -- © Rachel Pietrocola

When love beckons to you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you. And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth. Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed; For love is sufficient unto love. When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fullfil itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips~Kahlil Gibran

I willed myself to stay awake, but the rain was so soft and the room was so warm and his voice was so deep and his knee was so snug that I slept.

Seconds later, it seemed, his shoe was gently nudging my ribs. He lifted me to my feet and walked me to my room. "Heard every word you said," I muttered. "...wasn't sleep at all, 's about a ship an' Three-Fingered Fred 'n' Stoner's Boy..."

He unhooked my overalls, leaned me against him, and pulled them off. He held me up with one hand and reached for my pajamas with the other.

"Yeah, an' they all thought it was Stoner's Boy messin' up their clubhouse an' throwin' ink all over it an' ..."

He guided me to the bed and sat me down. He lifted my legs and put me under the cover.

"An' they chased him 'n' never could catch him 'cause they didn't know what he looked like, an' Atticus, when they finally saw him, why he han't done any of those things ... Atticus, he was real nice..."

His hands were under my chin, pulling up the cover, tucking it around me.

"Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them."

He turned out the light and went into Jem's Room. He would be there all night, and he would be there when Jem waked up in the morning.

that the water's calm and I'm in command
and that I need no one,
but don't believe me.

When I wake in the morning a new day begins...
Full of life ... full of promise....
I walk out of the house and what do I see....
The sunshine that awaits me ......
I have to stop, stand and feel it still ....
Just for a moment it gives me such a thrill....
To feel the warmth a new day brings....
A new day that brings me everything....
I smile and raise my face to the sky....
The day begins with sunshine .....
Full of promise full of hope .......
I know in my heart on this new day I can cope...
All that was bad is now anew.....
Sunshine and hope the other things I will get through.....

so you want to be a writer?
by Charles Bukowski

if it doesn't come bursting out of you
in spite of everything,
don't do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your
heart and your mind and your mouth
and your gut,
don't do it.
if you have to sit for hours
staring at your computer screen
or hunched over your
typewriter
searching for words,
don't do it.
if you're doing it for money or
fame,
don't do it.
if you're doing it because you want
women in your bed,
don't do it.
if you have to sit there and
rewrite it again and again,
don't do it.
if it's hard work just thinking about doing it,
don't do it.
if you're trying to write like somebody
else,
forget about it.

if you have to wait for it to roar out of
you,
then wait patiently.
if it never does roar out of you,
do something else.

if you first have to read it to your wife
or your girlfriend or your boyfriend
or your parents or to anybody at all,
you're not ready.

don't be like so many writers,
don't be like so many thousands of
people who call themselves writers,
don't be dull and boring and
pretentious, don't be consumed with self-
love.
the libraries of the world have
yawned themselves to
sleep
over your kind.
don't add to that.
don't do it.
unless it comes out of
your soul like a rocket,
unless being still would
drive you to madness or
suicide or murder,
don't do it.
unless the sun inside you is
burning your gut,
don't do it.

when it is truly time,
and if you have been chosen,
it will do it by
itself and it will keep on doing it
until you die or it dies in you.

there is no other way.

and there never was.

"We should be too big to take offense and too noble to give it." - Abraham Lincoln

We've all found ourselves traveling down the low road at one time or another. You know the road. It's the one filled with nitpicking and faultfinding. The road packed with sniping and backbiting. The road fraught with sadness and despair, crammed to the hilt with negative comments and spiteful remarks.

It's a road where trashing your friends is an everyday occurrence. It's a road where besmirching your enemies is common practice. It's a road where regularly defaming people we hardly know is widely accepted.

It's a pathetic, pitiful, pothole riddled road.

JakeTulane
08-08-2011, 08:09 AM
"The high road is always respected and rewarded." Scott Hamilton

How many times have you found yourself wandering that low road? You're out there passing judgment on people you know - and don't know. You're running down colleagues and co-workers. You're even denigrating friends and family; belittling, maligning and smearing virtually everyone in sight, dishing out criticism like it's going out of style.

You don't want to be there, but you're there. You don't like what you're doing, but you're doing it nonetheless. And you're totally, completely, 100% miserable.

Let's face it, trashing and tearing others down is no way to build a life. Or make yourself happy. Or bring one sliver of value to anyone on earth. Be honest, how do you feel when you're being critical of others? Does it make you feel better? Does it make your life happier or more fulfilling? Does it make you look better in the eyes of those around you?

No it doesn't; not even close.

JakeTulane
08-08-2011, 08:11 AM
"The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share our riches but to reveal to him his own." Benjamin Disraeli

Hey, it's easy to find fault. It's easy to point out flaws. It's easy to criticize and critique the shortcomings of others. But easy or not, it's just plain wrong. And it will never get you anywhere close to realizing your dreams. You've got to get off - and stay off - of the low road. And don't go back.

Instead of tearing others down, why not take the high road and look for ways to build people up? Instead of raising a ruckus with people you know, why don't you look for ways to make them feel better about themselves? Instead of fussing and fuming and getting all riled up arguing with others, why don't you look for the best in the people all around you?

Take the high road. Tell them how much you admire them, how much you appreciate them. How much they mean to you.

Even when others pass judgment on you, you've got to rise about it. Don't stoop to their level; don't join their club. Don't say two can play this game. Rather than join them on the low road and start hurling insults back and forth, I want you to take the high ground and look for a ways to lift them up. That's right; I want you to look for the best in your detractors, even when they're ripping you to shreds. Why? Because chances are pretty good they hate the low road as much as you do. They desperately want to feel better, do better and be better. They just need to discover the best within themselves.

And you can help.

When I die if you need to weep
Cry for your brother or sister
Walking the street beside you:
And when you need me put your arms around anyone
And give them what you need to give me.

I want to leave you something -
Something better than words or sounds.

Look for me in the people I've known or loved
And if you cannot give me away
At least let me live in your eyes and not on your mind.

You can love me most by letting hands touch hands;
By letting bodies touch bodies;
And by letting go of children that need to be free.

Love doesn't die; people do.
So when all that's left of me is love,
Give me away.
