Well, today was a stressball, so this is a good exercise :)

1. I laid out in the clouds at the waterpark with my book of the moment, doing absolutely nothing, which is exactly what I wanted to do all along.

2. I woke up? I'm still here, and every day is a gift.

3. (really reaching to make 3) I had a ginormous cheeseburger for lunch, with crispy pickles

That's a good one (and sometimes hard to do). Repeat, please.

42 - I owed my BF this one, having dragged him to see the appalling movie version of Les Mis, which even I (a theatre geek) found painful and unnecessary. :| So, '42' is a really enjoyable and moving biopic about Jackie Robinson. I was pleasantly surprised by the film.

The Great Gatsby - it was beautifully made, gorgeous costumes and spot-on art direction but otherwise really disappointing. I really liked the music as well, but playing with the musical genres was about as conceptual as the film got. Not Baz Luhrmann's finest hour. It also reminded me that I really disliked the book, there are no redeemable characters.

Silver Linings Playbook - I loved it! I thought it was absurd and painful and touching. I thought it was very well written and well acted. I particularly loved Jacki Weaver's performance as the foil to the over-the-top crazy. I thought the whole cast was fantastic.

I would try and figure out a way to bridge the gap that keeps low income families from gaining access to cost effective, local foods. Some kind of mobile grocer that brings the food to the people that don't have the ability to get out and buy local.

I would become a Riverkeeper.

I do not eat meat.

Cook at home.

Changed all the bulbs in this home to the lowest
wattage. No, do not use the "energy" bulbs with
the mercury in them, so lowest wattage real bulbs
work great. Lots of natural light here thank goodness.

My daughter has an evaluation this evening to possibly join the best swim team in the state. Three of their swimmers made the Olympic trials and one competed in London. It's a huge time commitment and if she makes it I hope we are both ready for this....

My koi pond out back. Not sure to leave it as-is and just upgrade the filters or totally re-do the whole thing and make it larger. I've been waffling for 3 months now and need to get on it.

My messed up foot in the cast. It is slowing me down and cramping my style.

This is how I deal with overwhelming stress that turns in to anxiety:

*Float, eyes closed, ears underwater.
*Lie down in a dark room with music that soothes in my ear buds, breathing deeply and purposefully.
*Walk, without a destination for an hour or two, until the stressful thought cycle is quieted.
