Good afternoon/evening everyone! I thought I would make some dinner for us....and I am still not up to full cookering...but I do have some awesome spaghetti sauce left over in the freezer...so how about some pasta with a meat sauce, a Cesar salad and Italian bread? I bet my Guy will like that *smile*
As for me...on the mend slowly slowly...this whole thing just happened out of the blue. I am missing a trip I was planning since last March, and time with Jake, and lost my job. Everything happens for a reason and I need to keep positive about things and things WILL work out.
Well my ride to the store is here so I should run....talk to you later!
Enjoy!

good evening kitcheneers......just popping in to see how everyone is doing....after my trip to dr yesterday i,too, need blood work done so my sweetie and i are doing it together in the morning....poor thing has such a fear of needles..hopefully she will be ok....i am not fond of them but i can handle it..i go next week for MRI and mammogram--been a couple yrs since ive been sooooooo....and as much as i dislike drs im glad JO made me go...i got some muscle relaxers(i have such a continous muscle spasm it is forcing my lower spine to be str8) some pain pills and an antibiotic for a bladder infection that ive obviously had for some time....i figured id share that since i dont have any funny stories to share today...lol
Ms MS...thank you for the s'ghetti...and sorry bout ur trip and job but as u said everything happens for a reason and im sure its gonna be even bettter than before...take it easy tho and dont rush ur healing process :bunchflowers:
Zimmy......still kicking ass at school? keep at it girl!
Jake....hows the new place? all homey now?
Ms Kat...why dont u have some :wine: with JO (it helps her sleep)
Morning...what part of the country u in right now? be safe wherever u may be

Jake...hows it going....glad MS has ur love and support behind her, motivating her...amazing how that helps...thanks for the buffet...i added some sausage gravy hope ya dont mind
Jake....hows the new place? all homey now?
Good Morning My friend... oh there is ALWAYS room for sausage gravy.. I just do not think about it up here in the North.. laughs.. I do love the stuff though. smiles.
Thank you for the kind words scoote. As you know it is hard given distance itself.. however, when something happens like this and you can not physically be there for the person you love.. it wreaks havoc on your emotional being.. as well as that care-taker part of you. I do the best I can, at a distance for now. Because we both keep in mind.. it is only temporary.
The place is coming along. I actually made a list yesterday of things I want to do to "spruce it up" a little. Finally had the satellite dish installed.. and also the internet. That is what took the longest. You order it online and they give you a couple of days and when you go to verify the order it turns out to be 3 weeks !! Have to love that.
Oh and just to stand in Jo's corner for a bit.. you NEED to have regular doc visits. laughs. I know what you mean though.. and feel you.. when it comes to not doing things like that on a schedule. However, we all know that without it.. something can come along and slam us hard.. only to find out that we could have prevented it all along. Irony is not always our friend. smiles.
I just went last week for My mammo.. and I should be doing it every year since My Mom is a survivor.. .. so now I have a baseline.. and will continue on a schedule henceforth. How shitty would I have felt if something had been found.. ? just because I was "too busy" or put it off? Never again.
Puts out a quick breakfast of pastries, toast, bagels, cream cheese, butter and some hot hot :bringcoffee: and :tea:
Waves to Jo, scoote, Zimmy, dc, Matthew, morningstar
Sooooo inquiring minds want to know.. given it is getting closer.. what is everyone doing for All Hallow's Eve?
For My girl.. you are stronger than you know.. and each day brings you closer to that goal.. getting the job calls has been awesome.. I think the best decision ever was going home and not growing stagnant in that rehab hospital. I love you.. where the fireflies go.. (f)

Good morning my friends :)
Scoote and I just got back from having our blood tests done. She's right...I'm a huge baby about it and get myself all worked into a tizzy. It helped a lot to know she was there with me (and also to drive home). I get a bit :seeingstars: around needles.
I'm glad to hear you got your mammo done Jake. I had been putting mine off for years, and am now kicking my own butt. I know the "thing" is probably nothing, but it's a scary feeling just the same. I'm a real doctor avoider (as is my sweetie), so it's good for us to do this together. In the last month I've caught up on almost everything....EKG and chest x-ray (heart disease runs in my family), mammo (with a follow up mammo to go), blood work, and pap scheduled at my next doctor appointment. Much better to be on top of this stuff...
MStar, I'm sending you big hugs and good energy. Sometimes the things that kick our butts the hardest turn out to have huge blessings buried inside...and I'm hoping that's the case for you. :rrose:
Off to work for me...it's busy season...but I'll try not to be such a slacker!
:gimmehug: for everyone.....and :lips: to my baby. :love1:

gooooood afternoon kitcheneers.......thought i'd drop off some pizza for lunch...i know its not good for ya but my sweetie did such a good job at getting blood drawn i thought she deserved some "bad" food....i also brought salad, cheese bread, and wings
myself i am having watermelon and chocolate milk as i type...strange but i felt like eating healthy for the moment...lol
Jake i shouldnt have put off my mammogram either--my mom is a survivor of cancer also so i should know better, but doctor-phobia and too busy got in the way...thank God Jo is such a nagger or i still wouldnt have had it done
Zimmy...good thoughts and energy to ya....u will do fine im sure
well guess since i am at work i should go work....hope everyone has a wonderful day

Evening all :)
Dinner is on :chef2: ...NY strip steaks, buttered egg noodles and green beans. :girleating: Didn't make anything for dessert though...so it may be a "help yourself to the ice cream or the Dove chocolates" night.
Got an email from the loan processor...seems we are "cleared to close" by the bank...package o' paperwork is on the way to the title company...and they're both saying we'll close on the house "no later than" next Thursday, 10/28. So, cross fingers, :vigil: , whatever ya' got! That'll give us 3 days to get everything moved out of the apartment...boys' bedroom furniture delivered...and hopefully my stuff well on the way.
So....our plans for Halloween? Unpacking! :) (and I wonder if Scoote is emotionally prepared for how much Halloween candy I buy for the kids....I'm a double fisted candy giver) :giggle:

Good Evening Scoote, Jo Jo and the family,
I won't know my grade on the final until tomorrow. Ironically, the ScanTron machine broke at the NSB campus, so the professor has to go to the Daytona campus to grade them...I am shooting for an A, but hoping I get a C at the lowest, which means I will end up with a high C as my final grade. I had CS laughing at me on the dash site, I kept typing that I was up studying anatomy all night long, but I forgot one word, and it is "for". So hy took it to the wind and cracked a joke.
Congrats on getting the house!!!!!
I am leaving some chocolate and vanilla pudding to go wtih Jo Jo's dessert!
Have a good night,
Zimmy

Good morning all :)
Sorry I've been a slacker! It's been a busy few weeks...and the son and I took the day off yesterday to go be silly at DisneyWorld (the joys of Florida resident annual passes). They're doing some construction, so we missed our usual spin in the teacups, but still had fun on Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and all our usual favorites.
Closing on the house Thursday at noon :hangloose: ...right after my doctor appointment and pap smear :seeingstars: I think I'll be having a glass of wine before bed on Thursday for sure :giggle:
Bravo on passing Anatomy Zimmy! :rrose: Here's a nice thing to pass on to all of your patients in the future...Scoote and I both had to have bloodwork last week. I took an old nurse's advice and drank lots of water beforehand, and it went off without a hitch. Scoote didn't, and even with the same phlebotomist she ended up with a bruise (after the woman tried both arms). It's an easy thing to do, and sure seems to make a difference!
I'm heading out (as soon as I wake up the Prince) on a shopping trip with the boys. Probably lunch out somewhere first, and then off to buy new bedding for their new beds, shower curtains and stuff for the bathrooms, etc. The kitties are lobbying for treats and a fresh catnip mouse also... :sunglass:
Hope you all have a great day! :gimmehug:

Hi Everyone (special hi to Jo and Scoote)
Been MIA and presumed dead I think lol lol on this thread. I have been trying to keep up with all the going on but hard sometime. Congrats to Jo and Scoote on the house, well worth the wait hon. I've had some health issues as well that has occupied my brain and work has been busy as per usual.
Hope all turns out well with the bloodwork Jo and Scoote. I read Ms Star had some complications with surgery. Glad to see she is on the mend. Congrats to Zimmy and her schooling.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Welcome back stranger! Hope you are feeling much better~! I am happy about taking the step to go back to college. It is hard as hell, but well worth it. One day, I to will own my own home and be able to put money aside to help my oldest nephew through college. When he turns 16, my middle brother is giving him a car Mustang, and then he is moving back to this part of Florida...
Hugs and have a good Sunday,

Jo Jo,
Good luck on your next dr's appointment. Maybe we all should plan a Christmas party for the thread? I start dissecting a cat tomorrow in anatomy 2 and I am going to get squeamish....Dissecting a sheep's brain and cow eye was crazy...You can have 85% dark chocolate...My fav is Godiva chocolate..You can order it online.
For the bedding, if you don't find anything you like, you should try Ikea up in Orlando...
Have fun today!

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Lisa and I took the boys to Michaels craft store this morning, getting everything ready for when Elijah and the little girl next door go and carve their first pumpkins tomorrow evening. I picked up some really cute Halloween decorations for the yard for less than $10 for almost 15 items. I am going to the dollar store once I am done with my microbiology quiz and pick up a few more things so we can hang some of the smaller decorations up in our tree in the front yard. Lisa is making Elijah's SpongeBob costume...
I heard from ChrisButch yesterday and hy is really busy right now with school and hys store over in Ireland. I am picking up hys Christmas present before the end of November and I am going to send it to hym with a Christmas card inside. Last year a few of us, did the Christmas card exchange and I am hoping we do it again this year.
Have a good day everyone,

I went to the big WWE wrestling event that came to My city last night with My two best str8 female friends and it was a AMAZING time. Holy cow it's been a crazy week and it's only Wednesday!
Closing on the house is tomorrow noon :cheer: , then Friday to clean it all up and haul out the stuff the sellers left (which I'll put on freecycle...someone must want some used beds, dishes and a desk, right?), and wait for the cable guy to come hook us up. Saturday I'll be there all day waiting on the local furniture delivery (still no word on when "the big truck" will show up with my stuff), while Scoote and the Prince empty their apartment and haul it all over to the new place.
Now I just have to learn about swimming pools :|

Good Morning Everyone,
Scoote, the weather is going to be perfect for your move this weekend! Congrats on the new house and good luck on the move...I am loving the fact of having more room in my house over the apartment that I lived in, in Orlando. No more having to watch movies at a low volume and you can have people over all hours of the day....Happy Halloween early to you all!
Hope you all are having a good Saturday morning..We opened up the windows to the house this morning, it is around 70 degrees outside and the sky is gorgeous shade of blue..
I am off to finish typing up my paper on the etiology of bacteria in fish for my microbiology class,

Good evening all :)
:chef2: Dinner tonight is sirloin steak, buttered egg noodles, steamed broccoli...and I haven't even thought about dessert. :giggle:
It's great to be in the house and have all the extra room, but I sure will be glad when my furniture arrives! Critters are settling in (although banshee is still being loud), and I'm learning to be a pool boy....errrr girl. :)
I have my appointment tomorrow morning for follow-up mammo and an ultrasound....which is icky...but got a 6.6 on my last A1C, so I'm satisfied. Triglycerides are high again though, so I'm on yet another medication. Sometimes I feel like a pharmacy :seeingstars:
I'm soooo far behind reading threads that I may never catch up, but I send you all big hugs, and thanks for your good wishes on our move. :rrose: Hope everyone is doing well!

Good Morning wonderful kitchen patrons,
Here is a nice warm breakfast ... because it is only about 30 degrees here this morning.. (remember that Jo?)..
Eggs ... anyway you want them...biscuits and gravy (especially for scoote)...waffles, french toast, bacon, sausage, homemade cinnamon rolls (made by My sweetheart)... fresh fruit...any type of juice you please... (however, I bet scoote and Jo have some great orange juice going on down there in Florida)... and plenty of :bringcoffee: and :tea: to get us through this day to come...
Waves to scoote, Jo, Zimmy, Matthew, dc, Incubus, morningstar..
Where is everyone? (hopefully the smell of food and fresh coffee will wake everyone up).
I hope you all have a peaceful day.. stay and safe and warm (or cool as the case might be.. grins)..
To My sweetheart.. I admire you .. your strength.. your perseverance...your rules and regulations (grins)...ho..ho..ho..:santa1:...I love you....:king: (f): :princess:

Good Evening Jake and Ms Star,
I have been busy with homework and registering for classes that start in January. I am thinking of register for my Microbiology class again, the teacher is a b*tch and no matter how hard you try, the work you turn is not good enough. She has failed me on both of my case study papers. My anatomy professor who also teaches biology cannot figure out what she wants from us, so I gave up. I have one more case study paper due and a lab report due before the first of December.
How are you two doing?
Have a good night,
Zimmy

Good morning everyone! :)
Breakfast sounds wonderful Jake (and you two are so cute :love1: )
I have been super busy...took the week off of work, but I'm exhausted from unpacking boxes, learning how to take care of the pool (and doing it tyvm), hauling trash and even trying to figure out what all the switches go to! :seeingstars: It's getting settled though....we have the living room and dining room set up, bedrooms functional, most of the boxes unpacked (although no doubt I'll be rearranging kitchen stuff for awhile :giggle: )
Hang in there Zimmy! I had professors like that....I swear they'd give us flaming hoops to jump through just to see us catch our butts on fire! It's worth it in the end though. :rrose:
The Prince is delivered to school, Rooster still in bed but needs to be woken up in 5 minutes, and Scoote is snoozing away. Her work (and work schedule) is insane. They bug her constantly with texts and calls, even on her days off....which are split. Reminds me why I left the restaurant biz myself!
Hugs to all, and hope you have a great day. I'm fielding emails from freecycle folks to get rid of all the junk the old owners left. :) Wish me luck!

Good Morning Jo Jo,
Hope you are having a good day! I don't miss working in retail. When I left the bookstore and moved to Seattle, they would call me and ask me how to do stuff. I went off one morning. It was around 7am Seattle time when they called. Needless to say, I never heard from them again..
I have an A in my MicroLab, so I am just going to hang in there and I am emailing the department chair this morning with a copy of my case study papers attached and letting her know just what she is doing.
Good luck on the freecycle emails and hopefully you can get rid of that stuff...
It is 50 degrees outside and I am sitting in my house in shorts and a t-shirt...I love when it gets chilly like this..
Have a good day to you, Scoote and the whole family!

Hi Zimmy,
Well it sounds like.. you have some pretty wicked Professors.. I certainly know how that goes.. I had one professor that no matter what I wrote when turning in a paper there was always something.. he did not like about the paper.. and I know that he never gave anyone an A...because he felt A's were perfection and no one in his eyes.. was perfect. laughs. So hang in there.. hopefully your kind and fair Professors outweigh the bad ones.
Life is moving along here.. the cold weather is creeping in.. as is the snow.. which we had a glimpse of today for a bit... however, the sun finally came out later in the day...
Just busy.. and staying strong in the face of some days where I just want to say... I have had enough.. and grab all of My camping gear and head for the woods.. laughs.. even for a short period of peace and quiet.. and a break from the world in general.. I am sure you can relate.. smiles.
I hope you have some great plans for the weekend.. and you have finished signing up for the January term.
Sending good thoughts your way.
As Always,
Jake

Hi Jo,
awwwww.. thank you for the kind words.. I think My girl and I are pretty cute too.. grins.
nods.. I so remember the unpacking thing.. and I do it quickly... because I can not function around a bunch of boxes... and it always seems like.. you are never "settled".. while you unpack.. I always wonder.. Am I ever going to feel like I live here? smiles. I am glad you are getting things in order.. and that is awesome that you are learning to take care of the pool.. good for you.
I hope you got some calls from peeps on freecycle.. I am sure there has to be alot of folks that would like whatever the previous owners left.. especially if it is free.
Say hi to scoote for Me.. and I hope you both have a peaceful weekend.. as best you can with crazy schedules and getting the house in order..

Good Morning Everyone,
This *cold* weather reminds me of when I used to live in Michigan and Pennsylvania as a teenager and I am truly loving it....I am going to open my windows here in a minute...I had Elijah drinking some hot cocoa lastnight...The poor baby has a bad cold and can barely talk...
Jake, I am loving my micro lab teacher....When I started the class, I was talking to him about the show Bones and how they use Forensic science to determine how the person died. Ever since then, we normally talk about the show. I applied for a $1000 scholarship from the college so I can start having a few extra dollars to pay for my books...I am signed up to take Spanish, American History, Constitutional Law, and Human Nutrition come January and I am looking forward to it. I am agreeing with Jo Jo...You and Ms. Star are a cute couple together!
Have fun everyone and I will be back soon!

I am feeling confident about my AP2 class and my midterm for that class is next Monday for the lab part and the lecture midterm is on the 18th. I have been keeping up with all of the lecture outlines and lab worksheets and had my AP professor cracking up at me today. We had to dissect a calf's heart and explain to him what all of the parts were. I was telling him so fast, that he had to tell me to slow down and breathe, lol....
You are welcome about the compliment!

:chef2: Dinner is chicken breasts cooked in a little olive oil, butter and sauteed onion....with homemade mac & cheese and green beans....and no clue about dessert :giggle: I'm trying to avoid the sweets, and it's working some of the time :)
Hope you all had a great day....and I'm glad to hear that school is going well Zimmy.
We rescued a baby turtle from the high school parking lot today (where it would almost certainly have been run over), and just went for a drive down to the park by the river to turn him loose. We thought about trying to make him into a pet, but he didn't seem impressed... when Scoote put him at the edge of the river he plopped right in and swam away :)

my sister had one of those rescue turtles for 14 years! when she gave him to me i eventually let him go...he was BORED and LONELY. She was like "how will he eat?! he doesn't know how to survive in the wild!" i was like "they are scavengers! they eat whatever floats by!" and then she said "how will he protect himself?" i said "he's a turtle! he'll just close up!"
long story short- i took him to the bayou and set him down about six feet from the water's edge. He took off so fast he was a blur! Charged right into that water and swam off as fast as he could, never looking back. I marked the day in my journal as "Turtle Liberation Day"

Yep, exactly! :) I often think that, while cats and dogs have been domesticated to be our pets for yonks, all the other critters we like to keep have had less time to adapt to that...and I wonder if they'd pick that life if they had the choice. When I lived in Australia I got a pair of galahs....pink and grey relatives of the cockatoo. The older of the two (a female) literally would spend all of her waking time trying to break out of the cage....so one day I opened the sliding glass door to the patio, opened the cage door, and invited them both to fly away. The female took off like she was shot out of a cannon, straight over the beach and out of sight. The male (who was younger) hopped on top of the cage and proceeded to walk, hop and climb all over the apartment....then join me on the couch. We never closed the cage door again, and I frequently took him outside with me into the yard. He never chose to leave....and I felt much better about having him for a pet.
:bringcoffee: In other news....coffee is on, fresh pineapple is sliced for easy nibbling, and I'm thinking about cheddar cheese omelets and toast! :eating:
Hope you're all doing well this Veterans Day. It's sunny and warm here...and while the big cats are disturbed by the new kitten (gray with white paws and belly....named Grayson), the dog has appointed himself babysitter and substitute mama. :giggle:
My sweetie is still :alarm: for a bit, but has to go to work today....and I'm (technically) already there...so I better go be productive.
Hugs to you all :gimmehug: and :lips: for my sweetie.... :stillheart:

Good Evening Everyone,
Sorry that I have been MIA. I have an anatomy 2 lab midterm on Monday and then the lecture midterm next Thursday...I have been busy and I feel bad.
I have decided to start looking for a job...unemployment is for the birds. A girl from the Starbucks in Target who purchases Avon from me, was telling me tonight that they are hiring, so I am going to apply. Since the baby has been sick, Lisa cannot go back to work, so now she doesn't have the money to pay her part of the rent, and it has been causing me a lot of undue stress as to what I should do. Stay and finish the lease out or leave and go live with my aunt. Her and I are going down to Catholic Charities in the morning and hopefully they can help us pay the rent...
I will be back shortly and have a good night,
Zimmy

<Leaving you some warm hot cocoa and tea>
Good Evening My friend,
Thank you for the hot cocoa and tea. I am drinking iced tea at the moment. However, I am seeing some french pressed coffee in My future. It was actually nice here today considering the time of year. The sun was finally out and there was a slight breeze. But once that sun sets, the temps drop considerably. So coffee it is. Nods, I was in Florida for a year and a year was enough. Entirely too hot for Me. I like the change of seasons, even if the change is slight. I would not want to live in a climate that is constant hot or cold.
Well, I am glad you are feeling confident about the class. Confidence, is key. If you walk in there with the mindset that you will do well.. then you will. Just keep those positive thoughts flowing. Although I have to say I would not be one for dissecting a calf's heart.. cringes. So, kudos to you for being able to do it.
Good luck on getting help with your rent. I am sure there are plenty of resources where you are. Remember we are all here for you and I am sending you good vibes and lighting a candle as well.
Big Hugs.

Good Evening Jake,
On Monday we got to dissect a calf heart and I was the first one to stick my fingers in it to find out where to start cutting it. Ended up, that my professor had to do it, the supplier had mushed the hearts so bad, that even he couldn't figure it out. But he was suprised when I started naming off all four of the valves in the heart and all of the blood vessels without him quizzing me..Woohoo...I am so looking forward to this lab midterm.
There is a cool breeze blowing right now, so it is kind of chilly outside, but it feels wonderful. The summers here can be horrible and I don't look forward to them..
Have a good night and how is Ms. MStar doing?

Welcome to the thread Kobi :rrose: and good morning all :)
I have a crazy busy day at work (aka on my computer in the bay window at the front of the great room lol)....but I'm catching up, so that always feels good. I go to AZ for a few days next week and they've already got me scheduled with back-to-back meetings (plus lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant for the best blue corn and chicken enchiladas on the planet). I love my company!
Have a great day everyone :gimmehug: ....and :lips: to my baby... :love1:

Have fun this weekend!

Good morning everyone :) and welcome to the thread KatieStar :rrose:
:bringcoffee: The coffee is on, and I confess I already raided the cookie jar :giggle: I made a batch (well, a double batch...we have 2 teenage boys) of chocolate chip cookies last night, and they were calling my name! I showed restraint though and only had two.
Everyone in the house has decided to sleep in today....so only the new kitten and I are awake. The dog said good morning as he went past me to the doggy door, but then headed straight back to Rooster's room, hopped in bed, scooted under the covers, and that was that. :) We found this great critter door that is like a narrow panel of sliding glass door with a spring-loaded top. You just open the sliding glass door, put it in, and close the door. Very nice, and the furkids can let themselves in and out to the back yard.
Not sure what the day holds for me....just enjoying that first cup of coffee....ahhhhhhh.

Good morning :)
:bringcoffee: Coffee pot is on...not sure about breakfast...I may be doing the cheerios thing myself. Sunday is a work day for Scoote, the Prince sleeps until noon, Rooster has been up since 7 (but somehow I've managed to raise a child who never wants to go out to eat breakfast)....sigh.
Today's agenda is grocery shopping, laundry (already underway), and riding herd on teenage boys doing housework (I'm cruel enough to require an hour a week in addition to their rooms). For fun? I might head down to the garden center to see what's on sale....
Hope you all have a fun day! :)

Zimmy
Good Morning Zimmy,
I am sorry however, no matter how you say it.. it is STILL not something I would like to try. I shall leave it to the experts or those such as yourself learning to be experts. laughs.
It is definately getting to be wintry weather here. We usually have some type of overcast now.. last night it was rain.. with a little snow mix.. soon it will be just SNOW.. laughs.. I am looking forward to it. The hardening of the ground... so that Spring can come and start everything fresh again. smiles.
As for MStar, I would guess you could pose the question to her. We are no longer seeing each other. Tis all for the best and everything happens for a reason, yes?
I hope you have a peaceful Tuesday and do not study too hard.

Good Morning Everyone,
Well I took my anatomy midterm yesterday and I ended up getting a grade of 70 on it. The professor knows that students have a copy of his lecture notes, so he is going to make it even harder on us to pass the class.
I am thinking of eggs, toast, bacon, panckakes, coffee, tea, juice, milk and sodas are in order for breakfast.
Have a good day!

Good Morning Zimmy,
Well on the bright side.. is that you passed.. smiles. It also makes sense that the Prof would make the test harder given the note situation. My sister used to be so down on herself if she got a C in anything. Finally, I said to her.. you know.. there is no perfection... you may think in your mind that there is.. and that everything has to be an A and a 4.0.. .however, it just does not. Now I am not saying.. it should not bother you (or her).. and yes it does lower the GPA and one should not get a 70 in everything... but I always looked at it as I said.. atleast I passed.. and I know what to expect the next time when it comes to the testing process. BTW.. I am a horrible test taker.. so that was always My biggest fear with school and college. I always happy to see anything with a 7 in front of it for a grade. laughs.

Good Afternoon Scoote and Jake,
I studied my ass off and I am glad to have my C. I found out when class started about the other kids having the professor's notes and I told them that having those notes in their possession was a bad thing. I also told them that if they had been at DeVry and been caught with them, that they would have been kicked out of DeVry for a code of conduct violation. For the endocrine section of the lecture outlines, I have 21 pages of typed notes.
Scoote, the new kitty sounds cute....
Hope you two are having fun today!

you are welcome My friend. nods.. yes.. that is actually where I have gotten all of My cats/kittens from in the past is the Humane Society.. so it will be the same route when it happens this time too...I think once things settle down a bit for Me I will go ahead and adopt 2 kittens.. right now.. is just not a good time. smiles. I believe in bringing pets into our lives.. just as children.. we should do it when we have the time, love, and effort to give to them..
Have you talked to Jo? I hope she has a safe flight home tomorrow.
How is the bonding going?

Have any of you heard about the guy in Wisconsin that shot his TV over Bristol Palin being on DWTS?

This had me laughing so hard, I almost wrecked my car on I-95 heading to school..
Enjoy!

Dear Zimmy,
OK.. that was My serious laugh for the day.. thank you. and I am glad you did not actually wreck.. although I can see why it very well could have happened.
Nothing major for the weekend.. I normally take a break from everything... and just find some peace and quiet. Since I started meditating again.. I plan on finishing off My altar space....and I need to get a few things at WalMart.. Right now.. I am just trying to find My center again.. and press on.. smiles.
I have never played Sims. However, I am hooked on Zelda.. I have it for My Nintendo Gamecube and also My Nintendo DS.. I have not played in quite awhile though.. I have been doing alot of reading lately instead..
I also bought My Christmas stamps today.. so I am getting My Christmas card address list ready.. and checking to see if I need more card stock, etc.. because I make My own Christmas cards.
I hope you are having a peaceful evening.
As Always,

Good Evening Jake,
You are welcome about the laugh...I know a few of us have sent out Christmas Cards to each other last year, if I can find the thread, I will post a link to it. I really enjoyed sending Christmas Cards out to different ppl, including ChrisButch over in Ireland.
My version of meditation is power walking and listening to music...It helps me wind down..Have you ever played the boxing game on the Wii? It is so much fun...
Have a good night!

Hello everyone :)
I'm home, I'm exhausted...the trip was great...love my job....love my team....but my flight home was absolutely from hell and I haven't slept since I woke up at 6 a.m. yesterday....so, I'm cranky, and find myself rather pissy with someone I thought was at least a casual friend. Oh well. It is what it is.
I hope all of you are doing well, and I'll be back when I'm rested and more myself. Feels good to be home.

Good Morning Everyone!!! Hope you all slept well and Jo Jo that you recovered from that hideous airplane flight.
I am thinking of pancakes, eggs, toast, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, sodas, milk and juice for breakfast this morning...
I am off to Target, they have a printer on sale for $30 and I am going to buy one for school.
Have fun today,

Good morning everyone, and thank you Zimmy. Breakfast sounds wonderful! :eating:
Yes, the flight home was horrific...I'd been up since 6 am Friday and my flight wasn't until 11:45 pm. Tried to get on an earlier one, with no luck. I usually don't mind redeyes since I can sleep on planes, but this one... :seeingstars: The flights were totally full, not a single empty seat, and they booked me so late I had a center seat (ick). From Phoenix to Philly, I was next to a man who smelled like he hadn't bathed in 2 weeks, and directly in front of a baby who woke up and cried every 10 minutes. Can't blame the baby, but the guy....blech. Then, from Philly to Orlando, again in the center seat, next to a very nice and very large woman who filled all of her seat and half of mine. Couldn't get the armrest down, and felt like an exhausted sardine the whole flight. Then.....an hour and a half driving home, trying to stay awake. Definitely not a good time. I went to give the kitties some tuna, bent over to put it on the plate and almost took a header onto the floor.
Had a decent night's sleep though, and feel at least a little more normal today.
The new kitten is cute...short haired and all white, and very very rowdy. We had to do some flea-control on her though. The big cats are not convinced, but the dog loves them and tries to be doggy-mommy to them both. So, we are now at 1 dog and 4 cats....the zoo continues. :giggle:
Hope you all have a good day! :gimmehug:

Good afternoon Jo Jo,
The new kitties sound cute. I went to Target to get a printer and ended buying my 4 year old niece a huge Barbie set instead. It was in their four day sale for $29.99. My mom and I are going to pay half.
You and Scoote should join the christmas card exchange. It's a lot of fun.
Hugs and have fun today,

I found out yesterday that I don't have class tomorrow which I am happy for. Now I get an extra day of studying to finish up my final paper for microbiology and then I can start studying for my micro lab final next Wednesday...We are having a Christmas party for Avon on December 6th and I am actually looking forward to it, so I can have a lot of fun!

I just finished cleaning and adjusting chemicals in the pool (don't tell Scoote but I actually enjoy being the pool girl :giggle: ). We just need to get the solar panels replaced (after we figure out the budget and get a couple more quotes) and we'll be all set. The Rooster still swims, but it's too chilly for me as it is.
He has a short day at school today (opted to go because it's early dismissal and "fun day") and the Prince is still asleep (opted not to go cuz he's 16 and likes to sleep until noon generally), and I'm catching up on emails and work. Scoote's already off to pizza land...glad she gets Thursday off though!
Wow Zimmy, sounds like you're studying hard! Good for you, and I hope you enjoy the Avon party as well. Is it a fun group of women? I would guess it attracts people who like to be friendly and sociable, or they wouldn't want to be selling Avon, would they?
Off to work for me....fresh pot of coffee is on :bringcoffee:

Good Morning Jake,
I have been up since 7:15am, just putting some Avon books together for my big buyers so I can drop them off today. My mom is one of those big buyers, the woman loves to shop...But I also give her a lot of stuff to, since she helps me out. I am going to be running some errands with a friend this morning and maybe I can have my mom redye my hair and then rehighlight it for the Avon party...
My collection of coffee cups I left in Seattle when I moved back, but I was able to find some that I had left at my mom's house when I moved. I have seven coffee cups from Princess House and I love them to death. My everyday coffee cups are the two that I have from Starbucks. They are this cobalt blue and can hold almost two cups of coffee...Just what I need when I am going to take a test, ehhe..
I don't have class today, but since my professor gave us the day off and we are missing a day of lecture, he gave us homework. Which is fine by me...
Hugs to you and have a wonderful day,
Zimmy

Good morning everyone :)
:bringcoffee:
Isn't it funny how we all have favorite coffee cups? I have two favs....one is plain white and has a cat drawing on it (given to me by an old friend ages ago), and the other I bought in Cape May on vacation one year....it's mostly turquoise and has a beach/sailing theme that always reminds me of that favorite vacation spot.
I've been awake since about 7:30, when one of Scoote's employees decided to text with a stupid question....grrrrrr. Actually I needed to be up by 8 anyway since it's a work day for me, but somehow losing that last 20 minutes or so of sleep is extra annoying.
Glad to see you posting again Jake, and don't worry....we all know how it feels to need to step back and regroup a bit. :rrose: We're just glad you're back. :)
Sooooo.....I went a little overboard at BJ's yesterday, and probably shouldn't be allowed to go shopping there without Scoote. She's the voice of reason that says "did you bring the coupons?" and "do you really think you'll use 12 boxes of lasagna noodles?" :giggle: Let's just say that our cupboards and fridge are stocked....and we've got a 20lb turkey for 4 people. Anyone want to come for dinner?
In other news, I'm figuring out more about this house everyday, which is great. I figured out the sprinkler system programming yesterday (hurray...first step was to hunt around the outside and find the box), and that my electric hedge trimmer works on dead palm fronds. :) Now we have just a few more mystery light switches to go and I think we'll have the place under control.
Off to fill up that coffee cup...and get to work.
Hope you all have a happy "day before Thanksgiving" :gimmehug:
....and :lips: to my :alarm: sweetie

Good Morning Jo Jo,
I am not sure how to put lights in a palm tree either, but I do have a ladder that you can borrow. We decorated the birch tree for Halloween and it came out cute. I love going to Michaels to pick up decorations. I bought these two mini ceramic bread pans there, and one has a snowman on it and the other one has a reindeer on it. I am trying to find a recipe to make gingerbread bread or pumpkin bread. The two cookbooks I have don't have recipes for them. So I guess I will hit the Food Network's website and see if they have anything...
Have a lot of fun today! Thank you and I will have a safe journey to my mom's house.

I'll dig around in my old Betty Crocker...I know there's a nice old fashioned gingerbread recipe in there....but I confess that I use a mix for pumpkin bread because it's better than what I can make from scratch. It's an easy one, and not expensive either...the brand is Pillsbury Quick Breads. They have several types, but we like the pumpkin best. :)

Good morning all and Happy Thanksgiving :)
I echo the sentiments, and wish you were all going to be around the table this afternoon (in part because we have a TON of food :) ).
I've been in the kitchen since about 7 a.m. The bread dough is on its second rising for the cloverleaf rolls, the turkey is in the oven, the pumpkin pies and apple pie are cooling on the counter. Still to come...mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, corn....and maybe some green beans...we're still debating on that.
Hope you all have a wonderful day, and that we all take the time to count our blessings today.

Good morning all :)
Well, we ate entirely too much yesterday, and then I perused Black Friday ads while Scoote and the Prince went to see the new Harry Potter movie.
Rooster and I were out the door before 5 for Black Friday shopping...saved over $200 and were back by 7:15. Not bad!
I stopped at Starbucks and brought lattes and scones for everyone. :bringcoffee:
My bed is calling, but on the way home I realized that this is the morning that the cable guy is coming to fix our DVR....so I'll be staying up instead.
In other news, I discovered that the pipe I hit with a shovel in the back yard actually IS connected to something....which I realized when I heard wayyyy too much water bubbling up into the back yard at 4:45 a.m. Evidently it's part of the sprinkler system. Oops! Now I have to run down to Lowe's later and get the stuff to cap it (luckily I've done that before :giggle: )
Hope you're all enjoying a long weekend. :)

Good Morning lovely Kitchen Patrons,
I can not even believe I am up this early. I had a case of insomnia last night at did not even try to lay down until almost 3am and now I am wide awake.. at 8:10am?? :seeingstars:
laughs.. I did the same thing morningstar.. it was Toys R Us .. the one time that I tried that Black Friday thing.. and it was for the Tickle Me Elmo ...which I really wanted for My nephew.. that was the first and very last experience of Black Friday for Me.. I would rather sit back and grab the online deals.. because just about every online retailer does the sales as well..
As we can see our brave Jo went out there and saved some money... what did you get Jo? or is it a secret... like something for scoote? grins.. you can whisper to us .. if so.. laughs.
Today for Me.. is just going to be a quiet day of relaxation.. most likely a nap.. some reading.. . and wandering around the site... My poor sister has to work from 1-7pm.. thankfully not for a large retailer though..
Wonders where Zimmy is at... hummmmmsss...

Morning everyone!!! Every time I see this thread come up on New Posts it makes me smile and I can actually smell the coffee from here.
Jo you are a brave soul!!!! I have never shopped on Black Friday! I have a rebellious streak against the blatant materialistic behavior seen on the news. Get a grip people! Not you Jo!!! The nutjobs seen on the news! LOL
The weather here is cool and dreary with a 90% chance of rain. So it is a day for snuggling under the covers with a good book. My daughter insisted I read Lipstick in Afghanistan but so far it is sort of bland and the characters bland and not well developed. But I will stick it out because of the subject matter; aid workers helping the civilian population.
Electric blanket is on. The bed made with my name on it. A frig loaded with leftovers. Cats happy and fat. What else could I ask for? :)
Have a great day everyone! Jo, I want to know what you bought too. You can tell us we can keep it a secret here. LOL

Hello everyone :)
Morningstar, that sounds yummy! :eating: I had a scone with my latte, but my tummy is rumbling. Of course, if I start cooking something the cable guy is bound to show up right then :giggle:
Kats, I had to laugh...cuz I'm almost as bad as the crazies on the news :seeingstars: I refuse to line up anywhere at 4 a.m., but by 5 I'm somewhere and, while I never throw elbows, I have been known to duck underneath the shoving masses to get what I want! :)
I can tell....I had a short list this year and only spied a few things, so our battle plan was brief this year. I got an XBox 360 with the Kinnect thingie (so yes, I'll be dancing in my living room when no one else is home and scaring the critters no doubt!) and some games for the Rooster. He knew about it since he's at that age where I have to ask him what he wants. I'll add on some little things that will be surprises, but he's already lobbying to open it up. (I may relent a bit early since he has to go to his father's for a week on the day after Christmas....seems cruel to give it to him and then immediately make him leave it for a week!)
I also got Scoote something...but she'll be getting it for her birthday in about a week. She can probably guess... :sunglass: I just hope it's an okay one, cuz I'm not a techie kind of person!
Some years I've been known to spend the time to peruse, but usually I know exactly where I'm going, grab the door buster items and get the heck out of there. Most of the rest of my shopping will be online, although I still need to go prowl around for my best friend (another December birthday, so have to find bday and Christmas gifts for her), and a little "secret santa" stuff as well.

To start our day... :tea: and :bringcoffee:

Want to know what I think you should do? Given you know it is not a monetary investment.. this year you should donate it somewhere as a gift to a child.. like in a drop box somewhere.. like Wal-Mart, Target, etc..
I think that would be an investment beyond measure. smiles.

Heya Jake,
I was walking around Target with a girl from my anatomy class and we were down the coffee pot aisle and she picked up a French Press. The guy who was stocking shelves asked her a question about the French Press. I started giggling and since she couldn't answer his question, I ended up answering it. The guy was pretty amazed that I knew anything about the French Press and the fact that it makes the coffee better than a percolator pot.
My Thanksgiving was good, after I ate dinner at 1pm, I didn't eat anything else. I had my group member laughing at me yesterday when i told her that i would have to roll myself into Panera Bread this morning. The coffee at Panera is ok, but my fave is still Starbucks. I heard that over in Orlando at a Target store, there was this woman threatening to beat up another lady bc she got the last tv that was on sale. I like ordering things online, you get to do research on the product before you buy it.
I am off to finish my homework,

Hi you,
I KNEW there was a reason I liked you so much.. good for you on giving the salesperson an education on the french press benefits.. I actually got on of My brother's to convert to one.. although he works on the road alot (builds bridges) so he likes to have his coffee ready when he wakes up to take with him.. so he keeps his "timer" coffee pot around still. My Mom used to drink her's from a drip maker... but after her first cup was done.. she would switch to the french press. laughs.
Good to see you had a great dinner yesterday.. nods @ the rolling factor.. I swear.. after I ate yesterday.. it felt like I had that whole turkey all by itself inside of Me.
Yeah.. the whole fighting over something in a store? I went through that one time. ... I was shopping for My ex when I lived in Idaho... and there was this sweater I KNEW My ex would love.. so of course I had to have it. Well when I went to pick it up... this other woman reached out.. and I mean she came out of nowhere.. I did not even see her.. and was all over it.. saying she saw it first, etc. I let go of the sweater and said "Well if it means that much to you, here you go"... When I told My ex about it on Christmas morning.. she was more proud of the fact that I did not go ballistic on the woman. laughs.
Good Luck with your homework. Back to class on Monday, yes?

Dinner tonight was the first of the leftovers...creamed turkey with carrots and peas, and leftover rolls. I made scratch cloverleaf rolls (I love homemade bread)...and they dunk nicely in the creamed turkey. :eating:
I managed a short nap, but still think I'll be in bed early tonight....I've felt sleepy all day...must be the hourly wake up from 1 a.m. until 4:30...and then the early start shopping. Nothing an early bedtime won't cure :alarm:

As usual, the Rooster and I are up, the Prince and Scoote are still snoozing, and the kittens are rampaging around the place. It's amazing how much small kittens and a mini dog can sound like a herd of ponies on a laminate floor! :giggle:
Not sure what the day holds for us...Scoote has the day off work, but has a really painful, scratchy throat. I made her gargle with some warm salt water, and hope it will help. At this rate, all she'll be eating today is jello (I made her some strawberry :) ) and leftover pumpkin pie...anything soft.
So far I'm just waking up with coffee and some raisin toast, but those breakfast tacos sound like a pretty good idea :eating:

I think I will have a Colombian blend with Half and Half and slenda to get the day kick started.
Oh dear me you knit? I love this hobby and art form. Wishing I had some nice scarf type yarn here at home right now. What are you knitting?
Last year I knitted a cool scarf with matching beret; the harvest dark earthy tones that was fuzzy type yarn. What a mistake! I have a knee lenght feminine pea coat made of wool and that stuff is all over my coat. It will take hours with the lint brush to get it clean looking again. I will make sure to wear the scarf with my jacket which is made of a shiny fabric. But it does not match very well. LOL
I hope everyone has a lovely day!!!

Good Evening lovely Kitchen patrons,
I am pleased to see everyone had a peaceful weekend.
scoote, My friend.. feeling any better? There is a nasty bug going around up here too.. knock on wood.. I have not gotten it yet. However, I spent most of today with a pounding headache.. I had to take Ibuprophen and sleep most of the day.. and it is still there.. although it is not pounding as bad. I also just tried a little dinner.. I was not able to eat all of it.. however, I got enough in Me to keep Me alive.. laughs.
Speaking of knitting.. I miss watching My late maternal Gram knit and crochet. She made some beautiful pieces of work.. or art as I like to call her creations. We still laugh to this day over these hats she crocheted for us all. They weighed a TON and were so heavy they flopped over.. laughs.. however, they kept out heads warm.. and that was the point. There was no way of getting out of wearing them either.. because every time she would see one of us kids.. she would ask where the hat was.. laughs. I miss her.
I hope everyone is having a peaceful evening.

Good Evening Jake,
I got into doing crossowrd puzzles because of my grandmother and I enjoy it. My oldest niece got the craft gene from my mom and when her and her brother were down for the summer, she made me a butterfly and a "I love you" plaque out of crayola clay. I now have to find some good quality acrylic paint to paint them with. Try taking some Aleve and see if that helps with your headache and I am sorry that you don't feel good.
How was your weekend?
Hugs and have a good night,

Good Evening Zimmy,
OOOOooooOOOOh.. I love crossword puzzles. My Gram tried to pass along the knitting, crocheting, sewing thing to My sister and I. ummmmm.. let us just say .. it did not pass along well. laughs. Actually My sister can sew with a machine and by hand. I can sew by hand.. no machine for Me. My Mom can do the whole thing.. same as My gram.
I paint with acrylics and the brand I use are Windsor & Newton.. the same brand I use for watercolors as well. However, I am sure Michael's sells a good brand.. and probably not as pricey as what Mine run.
Thank you for the Aleve tip.. I have a feeling it is a hunger headache.. if I wait to long to eat I get them.. and they are the worst to get rid of.
Weekend was.. ok.. nothing phenomenal. laughs.
Hugs you back
I hope you have a peaceful evening.
Jake
Good Evening Jake,
I got into doing crossowrd puzzles because of my grandmother and I enjoy it. My oldest niece got the craft gene from my mom and when her and her brother were down for the summer, she made me a butterfly and a "I love you" plaque out of crayola clay. I now have to find some good quality acrylic paint to paint them with. Try taking some Aleve and see if that helps with your headache and I am sorry that you don't feel good.
How was your weekend?
Hugs and have a good night,
Zimmy

Hola Jake,
When I flew to Chicago and Seattle, I would put my iPod on play and start doing crossword search and finds. Music is my life and I have to listen to it all of the time. My mom loves to cross stitch, which I can do, and she loves to crochet baby afghans for everyone. Maybe one day, I will sit down and take that up as a hobby, but for now, I have way to much energy and I love to be on the go.
I will definately check out Michaels and see what kind of paints they have and see if they have just a glaze type. In my opinion, Aleve works better than prescribed painkillers. When I had to have the needle removed from my foot, the dr gave me Darvocets, which did nothing for me, but the Aleve took the pain and swelling away.
Have a good night, I am going to watch another episode of Bones before I go to bed...I love that show...It's a mixture of science and medicine.

Good Morning Everyone,
Hope you all slept well and are enjoying the start of your day!
I am thinking of a delicious fruit salad with eggs, toast, juice, milk, coffee and tea for breakfast this morning. True brain food I must say.
Tomorrow is my microbiology lab final which I am kinda nervous about. I have a 97 in this class and I don't want to ruin my A. As for my micro lecture class, I gave up on the professor and I am going to be emailing her boss this afternoon and start to contest my grade. The witch gave me another F on the paper that was due yesterday. No matter how much information you put into these case studies, she just fails you. I am done with her as a professor.
Have fun today, and I have to stop by and see my niece's mother on the way home. She was standing in a tire store on Sunday, when a drunk woman lost control of her car and hit the building and knocking a tire display on top of her.

lol Jake...... my grandmom and mom and sister could all sew me under a table.. im lucky i can sew a button on. lol
and like you...... i know i can draw and paint them under a table.. lol
I use acrylics too.... and use them mostly when i face paint.. yep face paint.. lol .... and use that on cloths, wood, rocks...
i love the water color pencils and have 2 sets ... it makes it less mess in the truck.. lol i carry some of my art supplies with me.
i like using the chalky pastels too.... dont like the oil ones much
i go to micheals sometime.... or AC moore..... but my favorite is a real art supply.... here in buffalo we have Hyatts..... there is a store in nashville i like to go too.. when i get loads there i can park the truck in there lot... and its near the interstate. easy on easy off... :)
here is there web site....
http://www.jerrysartarama.com/
next yr is the going to be the yr of change for me....... i have too.
I cant take it anymore wasting my days away , waiting for loads in truck stop/wal mart parking lots , when i could be home doing something more constructive.. plus its effecting my health.
im making it a goal to come out of the truck in the spring .. april/may .. cuz its when festival /carnival season kicks in and even with a local job, it will help with some extra income...
im looking forward to hopfully booking into a couple art festivals and have some of my art.. other then face painting to sell..... and jake.. if you care to join me and maybe split a space.... would love it..
face painting.... ill give u an average income for a good 2 day spot... around 300 to 400 bucks. thats the carnival spots... i have good connections for some of these places too.
anyways....... this is turning into a book.. lol ....

Morning Star, good for you making a change like that. I know it must not have come easy at all. But you do know your own body and what it can take or not take. I wish you all the success in the world. And as I stated in my PM to you I would love to be included at some of the festivals as well in the Spring. Lots of fun and perhaps some sales too.

Good Morning lovely Kitchen patrons,
Here is a link to where I have purchased My art supplies in the past. They have an awesome selection of everything and run some great sales. I am also pretty picky about what I purchase (same goes for purchasing My supplies for making jewelry) and have a hard time buying online because of it .. mainly because I want to "see" what I am getting. More than likely not so much with the art supply stuff as with the jewelry making supplies.

Morning Star, Prismacolor colored pencils are awesome. Goes on the paper like warm butter! I also like some of the art supplies at Blick.com. Are any of you artists members of wetcanvas.com? Well I hope she will be ok!!!
Doing ok. Now. Earlier (around 5ish) we had some hellacious weather pass over my county here in Georgia. Three bad thunder storms (two with rotations on Doppler radar) converged south of the small town where I live. A few houses were destroyed not too far away. No injuries thankfully. For 45 minutes while all this was going on all my joints and most muscles were on fire. Low barometric pressure can affect injured body parts and I sure felt it. So in the middle of all the storms I took a pain pill, turned on the electric blanket, covered my head and went to sleep. Probably not a wise thing to do. LOL
Hope everyone is doing well!!!! and please I could use a cuppa hot chocolate now... with marshmellows please....

I am feeling better.. the headache seems to have finally left.. I ended up getting some Aleve and using that.. it worked better than the high dose of Ibuprophen.. who knew? laughs.. well obviously you did..
I loved Art class in school and college. I have always been an appreciator of the Arts.. and could walk through galleries upon galleries.. in fact I took a vacation once and that was all I did.. was visit any Art gallery or museum that I could find..
you should do a three point drawing.. then take pics we can see it.. grins.. see Me and My ideas.. always finding work for you.. just like the wrangler for the Christmas Cards.. laughs..
I hope you had a peaceful night.

Hi Jake: Glad that your headache is better!!!! A drawing experiment that I want to take part in is to do a portrait of someone with the reference photo upside down! It is said that doing it this way will make the portrait more lifelike and accurate. The reasoning is that if we are doing something familar we often do not see the entire picture, which makes sense. Rather like walking the same way to work or the store. The first time, one sees many things. But over time, we miss a lot. Anyone else want to try it?
JakeTulane
12-01-2010, 01:27 AM
Hi kats,
Thank you for the kind words.
The experiment you speak of sounds interesting. I was sitting here trying to think if I had ever tried that before.. even with basic sketching, and I have not. I am also surprised given I have taken Art in school and college none of My professors and/or teachers ever had us try this method. It totally makes sense.. given the reasoning you shared. Anything done over and over.. we are bound to miss something, indeed. For one because we never see the true "big picture". That is why when I sketch, paint, etc.. I always stand back a million times and try to see it in "full view". I also go through ALOT of paper. laughs. I hate to think how much of that I have thrown away over the years.. just because 'one' thing was off. It is also the reason it takes Me forever to finish a project..
I think I could give it a shot.. so are we talking..just a basic sketch of something simple to start out with?
ALSO.. this is NOT in any way getting Zimmy out of doing the 3-point drawing.. if she decides to participate. laughs.

The experiment spoke of just portraits. I imagine it could pertain to anything. Often when doing watercolor paintings I have my easel board upside down to get the values to sink into the underside of an object; have that color run deep the closer it is to the underside of the object. Isn't it fun to talk about art and techniques? Have a great night and I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight!

[COLOR="Navy"]I'm abit better but now this cold is deciding it wants to reside in My chest ~ and I'm like, I dont think so but damn that cough hurts :seeingstars:
You should all know that Scoote was ad-libbing (a tiny bit) in her post...I did go to cuddle and not to wake her up. The rest, however, was true :giggle:
Sounds like Scoote's getting ornery in old age :sunglass:

Good Morning Jake,
I will see what I can do about the drawing. Speaking of the Christmas Card list, I am sending it out in a few minutes.
Have a wonderful day,
Zimmy
Good Morning Zimmy, (yes here I am at 1:40am with insomnia)
As Always,
Jake

I think Scoote was born ornery :sunglass:
Hope everyone's having a good day...I took the dog to the groomer (Scoote has been calling him "ass breath" again....so he needed it), lubricated the garage door (which has been sticking halfway up and being generally annoying), went grocery shopping, and am slow cooking brisket for dinner....OH...and I worked too :)

Wow you are a multi-tasker!! I went to the grocery store and the craft store for knitting needles bought bamboo ones the lady said and they were expensive not the metal kind couldn't find them..lol I was looking and looking and found yarn but no needles. NIce that the dog got a spa day my dogs need it too. What's a brisket? Some sort of meat I think Jews eat that on special occasions. Tonight we get potato pancakes and donuts which I forgot to get but will get some later on!! HOpe everyone is having a nice day today its going to get cold tomorrow I think I will stay in and be cozy up with a hot chocolate tomorrow before knitting!!

I slow cook it in the oven with a little olive oil, worchestershire sauce, salt, pepper and beef stock. At 300 degrees it takes about an hour a pound to be tender.

Can you put it in a crock pot, its very Jewish to have brisket in the home...but not for Chanukah latkes and donuts!! Very fattening holiday!!

Yes a crock pot will work too, but it takes a long time....you'll need to put it on first thing in the morning if you want it for dinner.

It was a mix of written questions and 40 multiple choice questions. I won't know my grade until probably tomorrow, which stinks. I want to know if I get to keep my A or if I am going to end up with a B...

Toooo funny....but here they wouldn't last an hour! :giggle:
Today was good....didn't get as much done for work as I should have, but made some progress...so that's the main thing. :) Poor Scoote's the one who had a rough day (seems like more often than not anymore).
Now it's time to relax....dinner done, dishwasher running, kittens wrestling on the floor....ahhhhhhhhh.
What's next for you with school?

In January, I am scheduled to take, Spanish I with lab; Constitutional Law; Americah History and Human Nutrition. I stopped by my mom's house today on my way to school and she got a baby Shih Tzu puppy. He was negelected and abandoned so he is enjoying being spoiled at her house. I picked him up and whatever flea medicine they are using on him caused me to break out, but he is adorable and I will be fine.
How are the kitties doing? How is the new house coming along?
Have a good night,
Zimmy

Heya Kats,
I found out today about my niece's mom. The lady who was drinking and driving was pregnant and went into labor when she hit the building. My niece's mom has a cracked tailbone, the cartilage in her lower vertebrae was damaged and she might have a broken arm. She is going to watch my niece in the Christmas parade on Saturday in a wheelchair and apparently the woman who hit her, doesn't have insurance. So all of the medical bills will have to be paid my niece's mom, which stinks. I am hoping the drunk woman's baby is ok, no one knows anything him/her.
Have a good night,
Zimmy

Sounds like you are gonna be a busy girl! :)
:bringcoffee: Good morning everyone! I know it's only Thursday, but it feels like it should be Friday....
I had a toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and coffee....then broke out the chocolate biscotti after a frustrating trip to try to get my driver's license...so I'm leaving it all out and you can take your pick! :eating: I've got eggs, oatmeal and fruit around here too if anyone wants to actually eat healthy. :giggle:
The kitties are doing well....one of the big cats (Banshee) has accepted the little ones, but my Mabel (aka The Princess) is still not amused. She's not hiding outside anymore, but if they get in her face she still smacks them. Luckily, it doesn't seem to bother the kittens at all....they just look at her like "what's your problem?"
I'm getting ready for a conference call, then actually have to go back to the Driver's License office.....grrrrrrrrrr. Luckily I actually managed to find the paperwork that will (hopefully) appease their bureaucratic sensibilities (crossing fingers).
Hope you all have a great day! :gimmehug: ...and :lips: to you sweetie...thanks for listening to me vent!

ZimmyOh this is terrible news all the way around!!!!! I hope that she recovers quickly and fully!!!!! Maybe your friend could find out if the woman was driving her own car. If she was driving a loaned vehicle the owner could have insurance and they would be liable! Or perhaps the place where she was drinking; anyone who serves someone who gets drunk and behind the wheel can be held liable. If it was a bar all the better. But even if it was in another person's house they can be held liable for letting a drunk person get behind the wheel. Desperately thinking of ways for your friend to recup her losses!!!
I feel so sorry about that baby! What a way to come into the world; drunk through not fault of your own and being in an accident too!
Do you feel good about the test? Crossing fingers!!!

Hey everyone :) Tis I...the stranger lol. I've been busy here looking for work...trying to send out at least 5 or more resumes per day in hopes of obtaining new work. I lost my job when I got sick and was in the hospital :(
Off to see my favorite psychic later today...she is amazing and may be getting her own show on TLC. I am at such a cross road and feel the need for some direction.
On a positive side, my son is coming here for Christmas and I am excited about that. Going to put up the tree on Saturday followed by coffee night in Calgary. There is a group of us that get together monthly for coffee - it's a nice alternative to the bars...and I have made a few friends from coffee night.
Zimmy, so sorry to hear about the accident. I don't even know what are the right words to say. I will keep them in my prayers.
Thanks for breakfast...I'm off to my new fave website...monster.ca ;)

I just re-read what you posted Zimmy...I thought I had read that a drunk driver hit your niece's car and that she had a baby....not that the drunk driver was pregnant. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your niece!
