It's a :bbq: evening...so chicken kabobs, potato salad, roasted corn (and yes, I am gonna dip it in melted butter) and a nice green salad.

Carvel ice cream sounds fantastic for dessert....I love their ice cream, in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Yum! :girleating:

Hope you all had a great day. I've been working on a bit more packing and sorting, but slowly today...haven't been sleeping much and just not feeling well. In fact, I might just go make a nice cup of :tea: and see if that helps. :)

I am off to Target or Publix in the morning to find either the Blue Goo that Jo Jo told me about or this stuff called Yes to Carrots brand Aloe Vera body butter. Two days of being in the sun and my shoulders are as red as a Coke can and very painful, especially when you have a 20 month old little boy pinching you...

Carvel Ice Cream Cakes are good and I can find them at the Publix Grocery Stores. I love having Dairy Queen when I can find one, and I allow myself to slip a little on my diet.

I too am having trouble with the heat.. our air is going out in the house.. Its happened before... I may have to have the air conditioner charged. Have to reset the circuit breaker to get it to run right... ughhhh....

We are in the bid stage for a replacement- and we are only able to replace b/c we got stimulus funds....our service area is heavily Tea Party so i am having a lot of fun- when they complain about the heat- telling them " it's OK- Obama's buying you a new one!" then they are happy and pissed off at the same time and you can see their brain crumble a lil

On a very heartwarming note...my father's side of the family (about 100 of them down in FL) are conservative, Baptist sort of folks...and they're all on my facebook. They know Scoote is my partner, and were very welcoming, inviting her and her son to our family reunion and saying they couldn't wait to meet them. Well...last night, I sent FB friend suggestions so that they could connect with her...and she hasn't seen it yet, but she's got more than a dozen new family members already today, with more to come no doubt. :giggle: Hope she's ready for that! :lips: love you baby...

I am leaving some turkey, ham, roast beef, assorted cheeses, mayo, regular mustard and spicy brown mustard, veggies, assorted breads, croutons for the salad, and assorted salad dressings...Iced tea, iced coffee, milk, juice, soda's and plenty of water to keep us cool...

Zimmywhenever i got really burnt i would jump in the shower and put it on as hot as i could get it, stay in there as long as i could. that seemed to help me out. but, that has to be done the day of the burnt. i dont know if this would work for everyone. but for some reason it helped me.

Well it seems everybody was busy today, nope not me I was at that damn internship site all day until 3:40 pm couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. It was so boring today all paperwork, they are just using me for free labor and giving me the grunt work. I hate it!! I really do!!:readfineprint: Today we had to fill out some paper work that the school wants to see how my progress is going and she gave me 2's and 3's because she the internship site supervisor said I haven't been there that long. No clinicals yet either.

I'm pooped what's for dinner?? I have veggies sauteeing in a pan with some olive oil and pepper and garlic but that's it. Going to change out of scrubs and put my short pants on I think until nighttime comes around. Going to have some:wine: Sangria I think to relax I need it.

I am thinking of grilled chicken, rice and butter noodles for dinner? My friend and I had this for dinner, and I normally don't eat legs and thighs, but I did...Then treated myself to a brownie bite for dessert and we took Elijah for a walk around the block. The dr told her today, that if baby Caleb wants to come out early, then he is going to let him. So, she may not make it to her August 25th C-Section, which is making her happy. Elijah likes to jump and hit her on the belly and she is miserable. I feel bad for her...

I am leaving some yummy brownie bites and ice cream sandwiches for dessert and some hot tea, milk and coffee..

No one showed up they were all at their wonderful internship sites and are learning a lot!! No picnic either, too hot to go and can't take the dogs so its a no go!! But did treat myself to a chocolatey croissant this afternoon, no coffee though which would have been good.

On that note going to change into short pants and tank top to relax tomorrow is a long day!! Internship from 9:30 until 3:30 pm then home to relax with my babies ( the dogs), looking to get a third one though I just love em, a Wheaten terrier from Long Island 25 dollars down and 50 dollars a month thats a steal!! I had fun today..Spent it with my mom who is missing having my oldest niece and nephew at her house. Since she had to play pool tonight, she asked me to babysit my 19 month old nephew, who had a blast playing with Elijah. I have him until tomorrow morning when I take him home and I hope his dad is there or I have to take him to my Aunt's house.

I am leaving some homemade carrot cake and birthday cake for us to have for dessert..

I had a busy day with work, and a busier evening picking up my son, grocery shopping, and then being ambitious and giving the dogs flea baths, flea drops on the cats (trying an alternative that's not poison...it's peppermint oil, lemongrass oil and oil of clove...it's supposed to kill the fleas and ticks without hurting the kitties....and it makes them smell so nice! :cheesy: ), cleaning kitty boxes and more...

Tomorrow the last of the books and bookshelves leave...following the big bags of donation stuff that went to the mission today. I think when it's all said and done I'll have given away about 1/3 of my possessions...and it feels GREAT! :)

Good Morning all the dogs got me up at like 5:30 am this morning so I guess its time for breakfast. How about eggs and steak cooked to order with some hash browns on the side turkey bacon, strong coffee and tea, I know Incubus likes hys tea fix in the morning/afternoon!! Lipstix, you should really talk to your Dean at the University about this crackpot internshipe. How are you supposed to graduate with the knowledge of what you have been taught, when you sit and do paperwork all day? What college do you attend? I know DeVry was able to help me get an internship, and even though I pushed paper all day, it taught me a lot about why I would never want to work in a office environment. I quit over a year after I started, the women offered me a paid position and when I quit, she owed me three paychecks.

It feels wonderful to do some late spring cleaning. When I did it for my move to Seattle, I couldn't believe how much junk I had. I dated half of my old clothes to the church missionary, my tv and dvd player to a coworker and the rest went in the garbage.

Good evening everyone, and sorry I missed dinner...I hope everyone found something yummy to reheat... :)

I had a busy day with work, and a busier evening picking up my son, grocery shopping, and then being ambitious and giving the dogs flea baths, flea drops on the cats (trying an alternative that's not poison...it's peppermint oil, lemongrass oil and oil of clove...it's supposed to kill the fleas and ticks without hurting the kitties....and it makes them smell so nice! :cheesy: ), cleaning kitty boxes and more...

Tomorrow the last of the books and bookshelves leave...following the big bags of donation stuff that went to the mission today. I think when it's all said and done I'll have given away about 1/3 of my possessions...and it feels GREAT! :)

I'll add some blueberry muffins, and a bowl of fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries....and a little pitcher of cream...just because. :)

I had a wildly productive day yesterday and it felt really good, so I've vowed to repeat it today and get more done. Because of the blood pressure meds they have me on I have to work in bits rather than long stretches, but if I keep at it I manage to accomplish a lot by the end of the day.

One funny thing...I found a flea on one of our kitties, so decided yesterday was the day for flea baths for the dogs and flea drops on the kitties. We don't want fleas to get even a toe hold when there are 6 animals in the house. :blink: Sooooo....washed the dogs (they're all soft and fluffy and smell so good now)....and then tried a new flea drop on the cats. I had been using Frontline, but really didn't like the idea of putting strong poison right on the animals. Since only one goes outside, they're really only picking up a stray flea that someone else brings inside. Anyway...I tried a new, natural product that has peppermint oil, clove oil and lemongrass oil. I know those are all things insects hate so I'm hoping it works. The funny part though...all evening and still this morning, it's like having 4 furry air fresheners running around the house. They smell so goooooooood! :cheesy:

let us know if it works...i give Ivan the Terrier a brewer's yeast and garlic supplement with every meal...also he wears a Hartz flea collar- i know they are dangerous but he's been wearing them off and on for 16 years lol

we had a really bad tick infestation in January (during a no flea collar period) i was told frontline would kill them and they would just drop off within 24-48 hours but that was soooooo not the case. Baths, sprays, carpet powder, bombings- they held on till we went to the hartz collar and garlic routine

Yeah another person cured welcome to the club!! Good news Jo. I only wishh they could have done that for me!!! Instead I had to spend about 300,000 dollars of insurance money and countless days and months, years to get somewhat better. today is not so good for me very tired from yesterday at the internship. IT IS HARD TO PUT IN A DAYS WORK!!

On to better just thinking about going to Stop and Shop for a brownie or chocolately croissant for an afternoon snack but cookies will do and iced tea oh yeah!!

Have class tonight so I won't be on 6-9 but tomorrow I get to have kosher chinese food should be interesting to see what they cook up. Never had it before in my life. It is something the Temple is doing and then services and an oneg Shabbat afterwards which includes more kosher cake and cookies so I'm pretty excited!!

Thanks Lips! Yes, I'm relieved. The longer it's in your system, the harder it is to really get over it. He was on very strong antibiotics for a month, but it's done the trick. It's too bad they didn't catch yours sooner, too as that would have saved a lot of pain (not to mention money!)

Never heard of a temple doing kosher chinese food. It'll be interesting to try, I'm sure. Have fun tonight! :)

No Scoote its called cheating and I do it well, cheat of course but its only once in a while when I have a real craving for something chocolatey, going take the dogs too for a ride in the car for a while so they can get out!! Can't do the pork chops but the mashed potatoes and green beans will be fine how about some steak to add to the mix!!

Jo thanks it would have saved some money for sure. I Had two insurances that covered and medicaid also so there was really no out of pocket expenses except in the beginning when I was first diagnosed back in Jan of 92 and didn't know I had it. I have bad asthma from it a total knee replacement and arthritis in both knees well the one that is not fake doesn't have arthritis extreme tiredness in the afternoon. It almost feels like I am going to pass out if I don't lay down. And to boot I have bipolar disorder from the Lyme's disease affecting my brain so yes it is good that your son got on the antibiotics right away and doesn't have it anymore.

wow that bing website is great and Florida is very Jewish not that I need everything Kosher but it would be nice to know if there are kosher things available when needed but yes Florida is sounding better and better yeah no more winter for me. Well I did my speech and it turned out great!! I think I got an A on that one, next week I demostrate how to crochet a granny square with a youtube video and the hook and the yarn. I think that it is go for Florida so I will be joining the rest of the Floridians and move down there myself come october before Winter starts up here in the NOrtheast NJ!! I was able to get the cookie monster to sleep in his crib this morning. He didn't think I was funny, but in the end, I was victorious! Hopefully, he will start sleeping in his crib instead of his mother's bed, so when she has little Caleb, she will only have one in her room.

I saw your post asking about what part of Florida to live in. I would suggest, the Lake Nona area of Orlando to work in. Nemeurs Children's Hospital is opening up there and the University of Central Florida is opening up a Med school. You also have the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children as well as Orlando Regional Medical Center and Florida Hospital there...For a place to live, I would say the Deland area. It is about 45 minutes from Daytona Beach.

It's raining and cool here today with grey skies. Luckily I actually got ambitious and mowed the front yard yesterday evening so the neighbors won't start grumbling about me!

Kitties are still flea-free, and still smelling vaguely like clove. The mobile air freshener effect lasted a couple days. The only negative I see to the natural stuff so far is that my long haired kitty looked a bit scruffy and greasy on the back of her neck for a couple days too....guess all the oils matted down the hair a bit. Seems a small price to pay for not dousing them with poison...and it was cheaper than the frontline too, so that's always good. I'm hoping the effect lasts a little while.

Have a good day everyone! For some reason my conference calls always seem to cluster on Friday, so it's a busy one for me...but I'll be back eventually!

It seems like there is abundant places to apply for a job and I can work in a hospital which is what I am aiming at!! So its Deland area that I should look huh?? Not too familiar with that area of florida!! But I'll try a google search or bing as you said.

Challah bread is great for everything especially bread pudding nice and creamy yumo!!

Well its grey skies here too and some rain must have moved in I was sleeping this morning had a bad bout with the allergies, took some allegra and ibuprofen must have knocked me out because now its lunch time oh my what to have. Tonight chinese kosher food at a temple member's house and then on to services at 7:30pm. Dogs are knocked out too.

Happened upon an article that says clove oil (a major ingredient of the stuff I got) is harmful to cats and can build up in their livers over time. *sigh* So I guess it's back to the drawing board. Wow what a lovely Shabbat dinner I had, chinese kosher food and chocolate babka and rugalach for dessert yum. The services were nice too and we learned about the Torah(Jewish bible)!!! Shabbat Shalom everyone!!

I got woken up at 8 by a wildly barking collie (she takes it as a personal affront when someone walks on the sidewalk in front of our house with another dog)...then, dozing off again, and loud yelping and crying from our mini doxie just 20 minutes later...seems the collie stepped on him and wrenched a previously damaged toenail...poor little guy. I gave up on the sleeping in for today!

durrrrrrrr I'm completely stumped on what you do for a living :giggle: , but I hope you enjoy your vacation with the Strutts and your god-daughter. :) My best friend is my son's god-mother, and it's a pretty special relationship. Very cool for both of you. :rrose:

I am pleased to report that I'm still in one piece after going to play with unicycles yesterday, well I have a bruised shin but I shall buy shin guards when I buy my own uni. It was good to make contact with the local circus skills group and when I return from my visit to Mrs.Incubus I shall go along to see what they're all about. Fantastically they have a tightrope which is something I've always wanted to learn. I'm a rola bola specialist so hopefully I can pass on some of my skills in return for learning some new ones.

Just got home from the internship what a day. Opened mail, sat with Beth Gross the doctor's wife and tried to learn the checkout system but she really didn't teach me anything!! I'm beat and bored want to be able to do other things but its a no go, need to go to the grocery store and get groceries and I have to go to Rochelle Park because they have Kosher things that I need to eat, unlike the other grocery stores around here which really don't cater to Jews

My legs just won't let me oh I also filed stuff in the doctor's slot whoa big deal but did manage to get a kosher bagel with cream cheese somebody better call Jenny I cheated today!! What's for dinner how about lamb kebobs from Whole Foods in Paramus, NJ I think its kosher too whooo hooo!!

I've been a busy girl around here and it looks like another one today...some for work, and some trying to get organized to move as soon as they give me the "ready, set, go" on the house. I simply cannot believe that July is almost over...ugh. I thought I would have a summer of :beachkids: and :kissy: and it hasn't quite worked out like that.

Instead I'm here wittling down possessions...donating tons of stuff...packing what I won't need before we move and creating a pile of boxes and tubs in the now almost empty front room. It's amazing how big a room suddenly gets when you give away about 1,000 books and the shelves they were on. :giggle:

I wouldn't be forging her signature, just tell the professor, that she refused to sign the paper. After your internship is done, I would definately be contacting the dean on them and tell them, that they refused to show you anything other than doing paperwork.

Well I'm beat. There's a health fair that the school wants us to attend...its Sunday from 9:30 til 3:30 in the heat no less. I really need the practice, blood draws, bp etc etc so I guess I will attend the sunday event but not Monday or Tuesday that is too much for me with me having had Lyme's disease I can't do a full day and do that lousy internship..


So class was boring we really didn't do anything I could have left early which I should have done but anyway, wanted to get to the gym but no luck. There's step plus abs tonight at 7 pm..What's for dinner tonight??

I am over the moon as my grandma would say. I found out yesterday, that my younger brother is going to bring my bed up to me on Thursday, so I don't have to sleep on a air mattress anymore..Woohoo....

I had fun today, I was able to get Elijah to sleep in his crib, as long as his SpongeBob doll, dog and Elmo were in there with him. I put the pic up on my faceobook page, it is cute. Somehow SpongeBob ended up on top of the blankets and it looks like he is protecting Elijah..

Well today I told Beth that I wanted to learn more and she said alright but just kept me doing paperwork...lets see I sorted the mail, opened the mail for the Doctors UGH, then I did some computer work, then I made some copies from Nursing homes in the area I guess they were requests for patients meds, charts etc. I'm tired now and want to lay down and watch some tv!! I need coffee or tea or something to get me going!!

Well, it's official...I start college August 30th and I am going to lose my mind, lol...The only way I could pick up my Anatomy classes was to take them at the New Smyrna Beach campus, which is about 45 miles from my house and I am hoping the Starbucks in Ormond Beach is going to be open...I have class Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8am to 5pm...My Anatomy class is six weeks long, so I am going to dreaming about that class at night..

It does suck to move but I keep putting it off until the end. It will be a very hetero event Lips, that's the nature of the rockabilly scene. It'll still be fun although, Mrs.I and me will no doubt be a little bit 'exotic' in our queer way. We will be camping for the weekend it's in the 20's (degrees that is) over here and forecast as decent weather weekend.

No nothing at the internship is good, just boring fucking paper work that's all. Tomorrow I am going to ask if I can sit at the checkout desk and learn it and the front desk too, its says it in our paperwork that we have to learn to greet patients etc etc etc

So this shindig is straight and you and Mrs. I will be the queer couple , oh well how does the people of England take on the gay community? Because you know here in the US its a different story all together especially if you live in the MIdwest, Southwest parts of it and deep south like Louisana, Missisippi, and I don't know about Florida there are gay places in Floriida but NY is very gay friendly and so is parts of NJ but not where I live its very hetero, catholic and conserrvative!! Yeah just showered and getting dressed well scrubs then eat and go about 5:45 going stop at DD for Iced tea and maybe a treat but we have treats tonight because its a demo speech and someone is making apple cake yum I'm definitely going to have a piece of that cake!!

WEll for diner its spaghetti with stir fry veggies spicy too.

A funny thing happened tonight the dog wanted in the shower with me so I bathed him now hes trying as hard as hell to dry himself. Well he will be dry by 9 pm tonight when I get home tonight hehe...watching the Tyra show bt she is retiring soon too wish I was a thin as she was and as tall too, right now there's eye candy on hot models yeah g-d I need somebody soon maybe when I move to Florida I'll meet someone!!

These people are definitely failing me I want to talk to the dean of the school about it on Tuesday but she wasn't there. The Dean would be the highest up on the rank and file list. I spoke to the career associate Celeste Glouster she said they hire our students...I was no way I don't want the god damn job for all the money in the world. Besides I'm moving to a warmer climate for my health its too cold here in NJ for me and my asthma and arthritis!!

I told Beth that I want to learn more and she was like ok lmao ok so I don't know what to think. I will see tomorrow if they let me learn the checkout desk and the front desk where they greet the patients!!

I'm really anxious to get done and move already sick of NJ and the people!! wow what an afternoon been shopping bought myself new pots and pans my mother's boyfriend took all the good cookware when he moved out and left me with the shit pots so I said no more of food sticking to the pan, NEW POTS for me.

Gosh does anybody shop at Walmart?? I went to our local one in Bergen County, NJ it is all minorities!! Where does the white people go?? Target I bet in Hackensack, NJ that's too expensive for me. I wanted an ipod but got the pots instead.

Now for the scrubs I will have to order them online because I need petites for that lousy internship of course which I DIDN'T GO TO TODAY YEAH!!

I have a problem with my dog I don't know if I should take him to the emergency vet because he is panting and shaking but he has Cushing syndrome which cause excessive panting but the shaking thing is not good.. I really don't know what to do?? Any ideas would be helpful right now??:blink::blink:

i live in a neighborhood that is probably 97% Hispanic and 80% Spanish speaking... living in this neighborhood has really opened my eyes to corporate racism...there is a wal-mart near me and another one about twenty minutes away, where the percentages go down a bit...the difference between the tow stores are staggering in terms of selection, service, and upkeep. it is really disgusting what Wal-mart seems to think is acceptable in my neighborhood versus 20 mins away

I woke up this morning to the hot and mugginess that is standard for this time of year. It was actually cool when I went to bed so I left the sliding glass door and windows open (which is the norm for Me). However, somewhere along the line that coolness went away. A nice tepid shower is in order I think.

I did all of My cleaning and laundry yesterday. So today will be spent.. working on jewelry perhaps, finishing off book #4 in the Harry Potter series and enjoying some "special" :king: :princess: time later.

I brought boxes of old paperwork and my shredder down to the living room yesterday and have been going through and shredding all the old stuff I don't need to keep. So far I've got 2 big bags full of shredded paper ready to go out with the recycling tomorrow. Still more shredding to go...

He moved about fifteen miles from my house. My mom and I are going through our houses and anything we don't need or haven't used in awhile we are giving to him. I am taking him a couple of extra towels that I have and whatever else. She is taking him shopping to get dishes and other basic kitchen supplies he needs. I had fun yesterday and I am cleaning my house today....He brought my bed up to my house yesterday while I sat at his apartment and waited on the cable guy. It is a tiny apartment, but for one person it is good.

This way, your son won't have to transfer schools...I can tell you, that when I moved back to Florida from Pittsburgh, the high school down here wouldn't take any of my classes from the two years I lived up north. I ended up taking 14 classes my senior year in high school. I am hoping this doesn't happen to your son.

Unfortunately that would be super tight...and the animals would have to be kenneled. With a little dog and 4 cats (we gave away the collie this weekend) it's still a bit impossible to find a rental. When we looked for that before we found a grand total of 1 house that would let us rent and keep our critters...and that was with a $500 non-refundable deposit. Ouch.

I'm just kicking myself for believing what the realtor and the bank were saying...I knew better than to screw around with a short sale. Now we're possibly in the position of starting over from scratch. Sucks.

And oh yea on the niece and nephew thing....mine are now 18 and 22 and I still picture them as toddlers :blink:

We had a wonderful weekend at the Hayride. It was a huge event with thousands upon thousands of folks attending. I forgot just how much I love Rock and Roll, it was brought up on Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran and Elvis, which is all too mainstream for some folks. I loved dancing along to the rockabilly bands, I've not danced like that for an eon. The burlesque dancer was rather enjoyable too as was the Freak Show tent (which wasn't quite a freak show, just a bit mad)

I got lucky, I had the pleasure of squiring two gorgeous girls :cheesy:

[COLOR="Black"]Goooooood evening Kitcheneers.....just popping in to say hello and drop off some pizza,wings and beer...my honey has had a couple rough days(plus dealing with my ol' ass) so figured i'd handle dinner for her....we got a lil ray of hope today as the house has been pulled from the market so maybe it isnt further along than we thought...just keep fingers crossed and send good vibes for us....i know my sweetie REALLY loves this house--as do i

it is a hot muggy night in south florida....air is so still,nothing moving but i wouldnt trade it for anything

i gotta go to back dr tomorrow--actually needed to do it a long time ago but i tend to be a procrastinator...then come home and wait for cable guy AGAIN to come and see whats wrong THIS time..its the craziest damn thing i swear

anyway i sent Jo off to bed to rest--she really needs it--so im gonna go watch Rizzoli and Isles(totally crushing on that Angie Harmon)

That is good news as to the house being pulled from the market.. I feel for you... on the waiting and all of that.. just keep your eye on the prize.. and I am sending good thoughts and vibes to both of you..

It has been hot and muggy here for weeks.. and we have no end in sight.. we are supposed to have the hotness through this week.. with thunderstorms thrown in.. we most likely will not cool down here .. until late August.. early September.

I also know of the back pain as well. I had a disc herniate and had to have surgery for it. I waited 4 years though before I had it.. it finally got the point where I could not bend over and tie My shoes. The bad part is.. when it comes to back surgery.. they are never really sure if it will help. .or make it worse.. kind of scary when you think about it.. given they are messing with your spinal column.

I hope you are having a peaceful night.. and Jo is getting plenty of rest.

Everytime I go into Bank of America to cash my roommate's rent check, they always ask me if I would like to open an account with them. I chuckle, since I had an account with them five years ago and they would let anyone withdraw money out of your account and I ended up closing mine. I went to SunTrust banks, which is just in Florida and Georgia. They are good and I have been with them for over four years now. The corporate banks don't give you that personal attention, they just want to get you in and out in under five minutes.

nods.. I am in total agreement on the banks thing. I actually went with My Mom's advice a long time ago and bank with a credit union. They tend to be a lot more friendly and they do not treat you as though you were a number. I do have a bank as well .. however, it is a small local bank.. not one of those big corporations. I hope you and scoote get things sorted soon.

Another hot day here.. I will be glad when Fall gets here (My favorite season).. and the temps are cooler. I can not believe that we are in August already.. time just flies. I can not believe that My nephew is going to be graduating in a year and a half.. I look at the photo album I have of him and look at his baby pics and can not believe he is all grown up and will be driving next year. I feel the same of My niece.. she will be going into 5th grade already. God, that makes Me feel old. laughs.

Unfortunately that would be super tight...and the animals would have to be kenneled. With a little dog and 4 cats (we gave away the collie this weekend) it's still a bit impossible to find a rental. When we looked for that before we found a grand total of 1 house that would let us rent and keep our critters...and that was with a $500 non-refundable deposit. Ouch.

I'm just kicking myself for believing what the realtor and the bank were saying...I knew better than to screw around with a short sale. Now we're possibly in the position of starting over from scratch. Sucks.
